Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3640  Hunting

Davis took a look at Tanya, who stood up, knowing what was up, ”Take Mira with you.”

He suggested, causing Mira, who was beating up poor Katherine on the other side of the pool, to stop and turn to look at Davis.

”I get to raze their mini realm to collapsation for insulting my mistress and causing Celestia to feel sad, right?”

”Sure, but leave some lives for me. The First Haven World is getting quite boisterous, so we need to set an example yet again.”

Davis said calmly, ”Oh— since youʼre a magical beast, you might not deal with any guilt while causing children to die from collateral damage, but try to spare them and evict them before you collapse the mini realm.”

”Okay~”

Mira lightly nodded.

As an Immortal Emperor Beast, she obviously wouldnʼt target anyone below the Immortal Stage. However, she couldnʼt be held responsible if her attacks also caused weak people to die, including children. If she held back and displayed vulnerability, she might be killed instead.

”Stop it…”

Suddenly, someone spoke out hesitatingly.

When everyone saw who it was, they saw it was none other than Celestia.

”Are many children going to die…?” She asked, her expression frightened.

She glanced at Sheria and the others, even the little Azariel and Viridia. Such innocent little lives who couldnʼt even tell the slightest bit of what was happening here was going to die?

”Well, yes.” Davis sighed, standing up before he knelt before Celestia, patting her head, ”We do not mean it, but they would be caught in the crossfire more or less, sometimes even used as shields by their own people because it gives them a way out.”

Mingzhi also came forward.

”Celestia, your mother and I have taught you violence is not the answer, but unfortunately, violence ends up being always being the answer. Even back in my world, where people were only mortals and could be considered quite peaceful, we had terrifying destructive explosives aimed at each other, holding all of us back while playing the economic game to stay ahead, sometimes sabotaging, sometimes assassinating. Peace is nothing but a temporary state that is carved from bloodshed.”

”Indeed.” Davis nodded, ”Thereʼs no such thing as peace without war. We have been insulted- no, humiliated, Celestia. If you donʼt throw a fist back, weʼll be taken as weak, and people with aligned interests will band together to finish us off. You may not understand it now, but you will in the future.”

”…” Celestia appeared unsure, causing Davis to smile lightly.

He knew he was contradicting himself as the values they imparted to them maintained on the crux of not committing sin, which included not killing, but here, he was advising her the opposite.

He continued, ”However, do know that we arenʼt in the right to take lives for this level of insult. It hasnʼt moved to the life and death scenario where we cannot exist under the same sky, but your father is weak against such insults targeting your mothers or even you. Torturing them would be good, but we donʼt have the time or space to entertain them with such an option. Therefore, we have to live with it, knowing that we took lives but remain as steadfast as possible as the opposite is also true, which is averting our own destruction.”

Celestia nodded lightly.

She understood that she needed to balance it out like yin and yang, know when to kill, know when to impart mercy.

However, her worry was that it didnʼt seem as easy as it sounded like.

”Or— you could simply wait for others to keep insulting you and finally let your siblings die in some aggravated escalation.”

Abruptly, Natalya walked in, the back of her palm raising her chin as she looked away.

”Who knows? Your favorite big sister, Eterna, could also finally meet her end in a terrible way.”

”No!”

Celestia yelled out, her expression finally seeming to understand the seriousness of the situation.

It couldnʼt help but make the others speechless, causing Natalya to smile and kneel to her level.

”I did not mean to scare or force you into killing people, Celestia. I just want you to know that only because of the existence of people with dirty hands can people with clean hands exist. We want you to remain with clean hands, devoid of blood stains and cruel matters, but if life says otherwise, you need to dirty your hands in order to protect your loved ones. Do you understand?”

”Yes~”

This time, Celestia gave a heavy nod. The cloudiness in her gaze seemed to disappear, with her determination growing stronger.

”Yes, yes. Killing is wrong, but itʼs beheading time!”

Eterna screamed out loud as she giggled into the air, looking like she was going to go on an adventure.

”…”

Davis and the others didnʼt know what to make of this child who went around acting like beheading people was fun.

For lack of a better word, they were going to go with playful again, just like how her mother was.

”You two are not going anywhere.”

”Wah~”

Mingzhi used her backhand to slap Eternaʼs back, causing the latter to jump with a whimper.

She then talked with Tanya and Mira, giving them the coordinates to the area of investigation, trusting that Tanya would be able to find it. Even if she didnʼt, it was fine, as it would display their intent to retaliate.

”I can not divine the result of the Candidacy, but I sure can detect anomalies better.”

Tia raised her hand and volunteered.

Davis looked at her and couldnʼt help but scan her curvaceous body that had grown before he knew it. She was also wearing a bikini and a shirt on top that hid her assets since she seemed to be shy.

”…”

Tia volunteered with confidence, but his gaze left her feeling shy yet also more confident.

”I will definitely track their mini realm down.” Tia declared with her fists raised.

Davis found her incredibly cute but nodded approvingly, ”Then the three of you can go together. Tanya, protect Tia.”

”Yes, my husband~” Tanya smiled.

She liked being assigned to tasks as it was a sign of trust and also trust in her capability. She wished he would command her more, look at her more as he was her world. With him behind her, she somehow felt the most confident and gave her unending courage to go out and impose her sword intent, feeling like there was no bottleneck in her Frigid Veil Sword Style.

Perhaps, sensing the longing in her, Davis walked towards her and caressed her soft hair.

She gazed at him a few more seconds, appearing reluctant to leave and wanted more but she also knew it wasnʼt his main body as he was cultivating without a stop. Her eyes turned sharp and she turned around, walking away while inwardly swearing to stand by his side no matter what.

The three of them left, leaving Davis and the others to continue watching the projection.

Shirley and Dewzai somehow decided to approach the giant tree, leaving Davis and the others speechless. Soon, Evelynn was trapped with a Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Crystal Beast. It made them worry immensely as if she failed to time her escape correctly, she might meet her demise similar to other Candidates who were unlucky enough to meet these powerful creatures.

However, later in the morning of the Crystal World, Isabella was also surrounded by the Candidates telling her to leave or be attacked from all sides, infuriating Davis and the others again.

Not a single thing seemed easy or went their way in the Candidacy. His wives were at the bottom rung of the inheritors at the moment due to their sealed cultivation and prowess.

Despite making it to the ninth step and obtaining nine points, which put them in the top five, it seemed like they drew the short end of the stick and were even being punished for it.
