Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3603  Two Generations of Master-Disciple

”As I said, if it belongs to me, it comes with me. I treat whatʼs mine as mine, and whatʼs not mine isnʼt my place to plunder unless aggravated.”

Davis turned around as he flicked his sleeves.

He was not willing to be the torchbearer for the Ghost Tear Hall.

Tyriele was in the Soul Palace, but she wasnʼt entirely loyal to them. On the other hand, that metallic eye could be fully loyal to the Ghost Tear Hallʼs Founder and, hence, never looked in someone elseʼs way.

As far as he saw, it loyally protected this mini realm, not bothering to go outside.

He didnʼt think he was fated with it.

”Just try it. As for whether they would allow you to take away the Legacy Artifact or not, Iʼll take care of it.”

”In that case, you can convince them first, and Iʼll revisit.”

”In that case, you can convince them first, and Iʼll revisit.”

”Aiya, if you leave, they will become entrenched within their thoughts but if you stay and demand, they might give up. As for payment, didnʼt you say you will look into our Withering Ghost Tome in the future in order to rectify it? That should be more than enough bait for them to agree…”

The Second Ancestor pleaded and practically cajoled Davis into taking the Legacy Artifact away, causing the latter to not understand what was going on.

Did they not have respect for the Legacy Artifact that guarded their mini realm for millions of years?

Davis couldnʼt tell if they wanted it out or sincerely wanted a successor to be able to handle it. He turned around, pointing at the ground.

”In that case, Iʼll add another bait. You two can sit down in front of me in a lotus position.”

”What are you going to do?”

Master Deathseeker raised his brows.

He didnʼt want to be caught off-guard again. His disciple had become too powerful. To be able to knock him out would require prowess at the Late Stage Immortal Emperor Stage, plus some serious skills to disrupt his soul into fainting from the shock of the attack at the back of the head.

”I will have your meridians imbued with my own energy. Of course, Iʼll reduce my cultivation and keep my death energy in control, so if you two could feel the slightest resonance and manage to comprehend the purity of my death energy, it should be of significant use to you. Perhaps the purity might even correct one or two flaws out of the many on its own.”

”…”

Davisʼs words had such weight that Master Deathseeker and the Second Ancestor stared at each other before they launched themselves at Davis.

*Shwi!~*

A strand of death energy pierced through the Second Ancestor but it may have very well be thin air as it was nothing but an afterimage. At this moment, the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps was shown in full force as the Second Ancestor dodged Master Deathseekerʼs childish attacks one after another.

”Iʼm first…!”

”No, I was born before you, so fuck off!”

Master Deathseeker and the Second Ancestor sat before Davis like rebellious children, ready to receive their masterʼs teachings, causing Davis to blink.

He underestimated what an increase of purity in death energy means to them as it would solve a lot of problems since most of the flaws stemmed from the impurity of death energy they possessed.

If this was the case, then the second bait he was throwing may very well be enough to change the Ghost Tear Hall.

However, Davis didnʼt have the time nor the resources to let them undergo restructuring in terms of morals and manpower.

He would rather control the higher-ups to maintain the lower strata of people. Only, he knew that the Ancestors were already pretty locked in their ways and there wasnʼt much he could do about it unless they faced or he gave them existential crisis.

Even then, it was a hard to say as top assassin sects like them have survived numerous crisis stemming from righteous sects trying to eradicate in one fell swoop. Of course, he was dangling a peace of meat in front of them, one that would make them drool, so he would say the chances of him changing them was fifty-fifty.

Nonetheless, he could see why these two would share a close relationship.

He sat down behind them and extended his hands, placing his palm over their backs. He took a deep breath, lowering his cultivation to an optimal level where these two would survive fine before he unleashed death energy into them.

Master Deathseeker and the Second Ancestor shuddered.

Their initial reactions were one of dismay and a sense of defeat over feeling they could never reach this level but sure enough, their Wills were strong, allowing them to quickly get into circulating it through their meridians and have their meridians remember the taste while also comprehending it themselves so they could produce it from their dantian later on.

This is what they had been looking for from the start since if they could even achieve half of his death energyʼs purity, then their lives would be significantly better.

The three of them entered a state of meditation for a few hours, but Davis could only spare eight hours for them. Any more and his death energy could probably invoke their Deathly Madness Sickness from an overdose.

After that, he fled before they could digest their gains and wake up.

No amount of wanting to get that treasure could compare with the time he was going to spend with Evelynn, Isabella, and Shirley. He was going to miss them for twenty-one days straight or possibly more due to the time chamber if he missed them.

He had more time to subdue that treasure later.

No one stopped him, and he exited the Extinguished Fissure Mini Realm.

He returned to his home.

It was only the eighth day, and everyone was up early.

The sun hadnʼt even risen but as if they had promised to meet up, everyone gathered in the main hall one by one.

Davis was the very first one to arrive.

He appeared calm, greeting everyone who made their way here from seclusion but the big three have yet to arrive, seemingly fully focused on cultivating till the end. Considering their thoughts, he guessed they may want to have a one last talk or dance with him, especially Isabella and Shirley as at least Evelynn and Natalya got their fair share a week ago.

”Maybe we shouldnʼt disturb them…?”

Davis uttered as though he was unsure. He really did want to go bring them back but increasing their strength through skills were also of the utmost importance as the Candidacy might very well be one that restricted cultivations or even prowess, forcing participants to compete in the same realm.
