Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3598 To The Ghost Tear Hall

”Phew…”

Davis heaved a long breath, but instead of a sigh, it was one of satisfaction, sexual satisfaction, if he might add.

He rested on the bed with Everlight by his side, finally stopping their carnal dance that had gone on for nine hours straight, which meant only three hours had passed outside.

Now, his soul essence had healed enough for him to continue his cultivation and enlightenment sessions.

He cuddled with her soft body, and it made him feel at peace. He now knew why Saintess Lunaria would recline on Shimei most of the time. The calming scent and the subsequent peaceful effect of the Nine Lives Gracious Fox were peerless.

Eventually, their cuddling time came to an end when Everlight left with a pleased expression as this type of dual cultivation subdued her with immense pleasure that she thought she wouldnʼt experience. It was like she was dual cultivating with a Nine Lives Gracious Fox Emperor since she didnʼt experience any discomfort with her Emperor-Tier soul whatsoever.

Her bodyʼs instincts fully recognized Davis as her master, giving her the ultimate euphoria.

ʼNow, I have Nyoran to deal with, but she hasnʼt arrived yet. Master will call me when itʼs time…ʼ

She imagined and left obediently, not wanting to waste his time anymore.

A day later, Nyoran did arrive, so she took her into her chamber and readied her to imbue her Emperor-Tier Species Technique, Bloodline Impelling Evolution: Regal on her.

As for the mansion, it still looked quite abandoned since everyone was still busy.

Sometime later, Davis exited seclusion and headed towards the Ghost Tear Hallʼs hidden headquarters.

He eventually arrived at a concealed location within a danger zone.

This place was filled with the scent of poison. One whiff could cause an average Peak-Level Immortal King to die in a few seconds and the place was also a maze all over yet for Davis, it was nothing. Even while knowing the right path to take, he breezed it through as a challenge and ended up right before their gates.

*Bang!~*

”Who!?”

An attack fell at him before asking who he was.

It was an arrow shot from the shadows beside the walls. A figure phased out like a spirit, but it was a human with a deathly outlook, and purple veins spread all over his head and neck, appearing limp.

His movements were strange, as though he was a puppet.

Davis observed after catching the arrow with his bare hands. It was barbed and coated with poison. One shot to death, yet it couldnʼt pierce his skin, nor could the poison seep or penetrate his pores.

He flicked the arrow to the side and announced, ”Divine Emperor of Death.”

”Young Master, I didnʼt recognize it was you at first. I was hasty! Forgive my rudeness!”

*Bang!~*

The man exploded into a shower of rotten blood, and another man stepped out from the gate, revealing himself before going on one knee.

Davis saw that this person had exploded his puppet as a form of self-infliction of punishment in hopes of getting scot-free, but Davis didnʼt really mind. He was aware he was going to be attacked when he took the wrong route to get here and also took that as a challenge, but it seems like the hierarchy was strict enough to commit suicide to pay for oneʼs crimes.

”Donʼt bother.”

Davis waved his hand and walked past the black-robed young man.

*Thud!~*

”Divine Emperor of Death, please spare me!” However, the young man went on all fours and smashed his head against the foul black tile.

Davis cringed ever so lightly on hearing the sound of skull shattering. He sighed and turned to look around.

”Iʼm not going to do anything to you.”

”Oh- the Divine Emperor of Death is merciful~”

The young man raised his head piously, all the while letting the blood from his head flow out in copious amounts.

”…”

Seeing this scene, Davis felt like the he was getting into a shady occult organization that worships the devil. This young man with pale skin may look like a young man but considering that he was a Early Stage Immortal Emperor, Davis felt that he must be at least ten thousand years old.

Regardless, the atmosphere here was so dark for him that he felt like some reform was in store if he was going to truly ally himself with the Ghost Tear Hall.

That was part of the reason why he never went to bother himself with the Ghost Tear Hall.

If it werenʼt for Master Deathseeker, he wouldnʼt have stepped in here other than to collect some techniques or bring an end to such a vile organization that didnʼt differentiate between its targets.

They killed children and elders alike. It didnʼt matter if they were good or evil.

It could be said that they pursued egalitarianism when it comes to death when seen from another perspective. However, Davis wasnʼt like that, as when it came down to death, he was of the idea that innocents didnʼt need to die.

However, ʼneedʼ was a strong word, so if they needed to die, then he might just let them die if faced with no other choice. It wasnʼt his place to tell how assassination organizations should act unless it belonged to him, so he didnʼt even feel the need to reform the Ghost Tear Hall despite having relations with them.

ʼIʼm also getting a bit more evil by the day…ʼ

Davis shook his head, reminding himself not to be willfully evil as there were fewer and fewer injustices he was getting angered by nowadays or remain indifferent to them.

”Stand up. Whatʼs your name?”

He asked, causing the young-looking man to stand up.

”I am one of the Ten Gatekeepers of the Extinguished Fissure Mini Realm, Endarrow.”

”Endarrow, what is the technique you used to control the puppet? I can feel there was some death energy involved.”

”Yes.” Endarrow replied faithfully, ”The technique I used allows me to control dead corpses by imbuing my soul into them. However, such a thing also corrupts oneʼs own soul, so my limit is three corpses at the Early Immortal Emperor Stage at max. This technique is called the Grim Deathʼs Awakening, and it is a top-tier Immortal Emperor Grade Technique that only those who practice death energy are allowed to learn.”

”…”

Davisʼs lips couldnʼt help but curl.

He had touched on the topic of necromancy.
