Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3622  Replacing Fear With Fear

After Yi Feng disappeared into the spatial vortex, his name was updated to the rankings.

This allowed the inheritors and the others to understand that the first trial was over when one entered the spatial vortex. However, the two ways one can enter the spatial vortex are by climbing the staircase all the way or giving up on one of the nine steps and proceeding sideways before walking up the left-wing or right-wing stairs.

It was unknown what the left-wing stairs or right-wing stairs signified, but they didnʼt seem to have any kind of challenge imposed upon them.

Yi Feng crossed the left wing easily, so a few inheritors who decided their current achievement was enough despite the points given out moved towards the left and walked up the left-wing stairs, arriving at the platform.

”…!”

They reacted strangely, holding their abdomen like Yi Feng as their cultivations regressed.

Those who were from the fifth step dropped to Level Four Immortal King Stage.

Those who had given up on the fourth step dropped to the Level Five Immortal King Stage.

However, none of the participants on the sixth step moved as they seemed to be contemplating whether moving up to gain more points was necessary when their future achievements could be at stake due to being weaker than the others or because they made it to the top, they would have more opportunity than the others.

If this trial was punishing greed, then surely, it would not be advisable to climb all the way up to the ninth step or even the eighth step. Then again, greed also depends on oneʼs capability.

That fiery crimson-robed woman known as Shirley seems to have gone limp from fear, unlike her two sisters.

Was it because she was not capable?

”Evelynn, let me go…”

Shirley pleaded using physical soul transmission as their hands were still clenched.

”No. Get up, Shirley. We made a decision to make it to the ninth step together and win. It is now clear that getting ourselves to the ninth step will award us nine points, and thatʼs a huge headstart despite the danger.”

”…”

Hearing Evelynnʼs answer, Shirley bit her lips.

”But I…”

”Even I feel like Iʼm going to break. However, remember the fear of losing Davis on that day, which forced us to make unscrupulous choices.”

”Even if you say that… I was away at that time, and after learning about Davisʼs condition, I quickly decided to revive him through the Revival From the Ashes nirvanic technique of the phoenix.”

”…” Evelynn was stumped by Shirleyʼs logical rebuttal.

Was Shirley even overwhelmed by fear?

”Shirley, if you donʼt stand up, then no lovey-dovey time with Davis for ten years!” Isabella screamed out, using their link.

”Aaahn…!”

Her words caused Shirley to spring up while making a face full of despair.

”Thatʼs right, just force the fears away with something even more fearful.”

Evelynn nodded at Isabellaʼs thinking before she turned to look at Shirley and firmly grasped her hand once more. Even though Evelynn said that, she was shaking from head to toe, barely managing to conceal the fear in her eyes as she glared at Fairy Thunderblaze, wondering if she was enduring better than them.

”I never took you for the brave type.”

”You think I couldʼve gotten here without being brave?” Fairy Thunderblaze made a laughing motion.

She could understand that Fairy Thunderblaze didnʼt mean the stairs. She meant how she imprisoned Davis and had him in her debt while walking on a thin line that tested his patience every time.

In Evelynnʼs books, that did require plenty of courage.

”Itʼs good.” Evelynn forced a smile, ”This way, you are a worthy opponent to defeat.”

”I should be saying that.”

Fairy Thunderblaze also forced a smile.

The two of them talking while trembling was funny to watch for Davis, but he had enough. Everyone was ogling at his three wives that he felt like slaughtering them all right now. The fact that they were trembling meant that their ass was also quivering ever so lightly.

But he sighed, knowing that these kind of situations would be commonplace.

He didnʼt take pride in showing off his womenʼs bodies. They were sacred to him and him alone. They were dressed fine and elegantly, but it was impossible to hide their curves, and naturally, many eyes would be attracted to them. It was impossible to keep everyone in check, so the usual thing that husbands would do was punish their women for showing off with sarcastic compliments or discipline that could be considered light abuse.

However, Davis wouldnʼt do that. He was not going to suppress them from emitting their natural beauty without any ulterior motives whatsoever.

Thatʼs why he would always pick a fight with the onlookers who didnʼt know how to not look for more than three or even five seconds, show them that they couldnʼt take advantage of his beauties with their eyes with a severe beating or in certain precarious situations, even impose death upon them.

However, if his women left his side, then he was not the one with control over the situation. There was nothing he could do about it than watch others take advantage of their wondrous curves with their toad eyes.

He was sad about it but knew this was what he was signing up for when he let his beauties leave his side.

”Woah, what a show~ You would think they would piss themselves on the ninth step with how theyʼre trembling on the eighth step.”

The toad-rhinoceros fey man laughed, his eyes clouding with desire, ”I certainly want to see Fairy Thunderblaze piss herself for us.”

”…”

Fairy Thunderblaze glanced at that man coldly. She wondered what was with this man as he seemed to be fixated on her, bent on provoking her.

Everyone also figured out that he was provoking her, so no one said anything. They wanted to see what the ninth step was like.

”Mark my words. Youʼre dead if we meet on the other side.”

Fairy Thunderblazeʼs voice echoed out with amusement.

”Donʼt worry. I wonʼt allow you to die because youʼre going to be mine.”

The toad-rhinoceros fey man cackled, ”Nameʼs Fanwain. Learn the name of your husband, sweetheart.”

”…”

Tahundra watched this scene with an unsightly expression as he felt like someone was picking on his woman, but with Fairy Thunderblaze exposed as a Divergent and with her not denying it, he didnʼt know what to do.

Fairy Thunderblaze no longer bothered and turned around, looking like she was going to step towards the ninth step.
