Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1196 Deciding To Leave?

Davis naturally kept back the Ashen Dawn Herb back into his spatial ring. He wasnʼt going to use it right now as his concentration was now on the soul.

Besides, he was a bit hesitant to use it on himself since Fire Laws werenʼt his main, nor is it something he is currently trained in, but since it allows him to directly comprehend till Level Seven Intent or most likely Level Eight Intent due to its immaturity, he felt conflicted.

If it were any lower, like Level Six Intent, he wouldʼve definitely given it to Sophie without feeling any hesitation.

Nevertheless, he didnʼt have a lightning and fire attributed cultivation manual. He could not train individually in both of them as he didnʼt have the means to do so. His revolving core had also mutated to be more suitable for hosting lightning energy in his dantian. It would be unknown what would happen if he brought fire energy into the fray.

If he trained in Fire Laws without a manualʼs help to control the fire energy from going out of control, there might be complications in his dantian. As for whether it would negative or positive, he felt that it would most likely be negative.

First of all, was it possible for lightning energy and fire energy to coexist in his lightning-mutated dantian? Even his meridians were tempered by lightning and became suitable to hold lightning energy!

Davis had so many questions in his mind, and yet he had no concrete answers and only assumptions for everything. Thatʼs why he also felt that it would be beneficial to his group if the Ashen Dawn Herb was given to Sophie.

She was the one who stands to gain the best, and yet it also served to boost his prowess to a frightening level if his body somehow accepts the energy!

In any case, to completely receive the benefits of the heavenly resource, he presumed that the user must be at the Law Dominion Stage. Otherwise, it was possible to lose benefits or gain it later after breaking through but would it be that simple and convenient?

After all, heavenly laws dictate that one can comprehend Level Seven Intent to Level Nine Intent only when they are in the Law Dominion Stage, the Seventh Stage, or above.

If he consumed at the Law Manifestation Stage, perhaps he might be only able to comprehend till Level Six Intent, or it would be Level Six Intent but would be enormously powerful enough to compare with Level Seven Intent or above. He didnʼt know what to make of this and wouldnʼt know the end result unless he consumed or investigated it.

ʼItʼs a drag...ʼ Davis felt like just giving it to Sophie rather than think about these intricacies and discrepancies as he hovered before a sunken ditch.

He stared at Sophie, picking up a few crimson-greyish rocks with difficulty before throwing them into her spatial ring.

After a minute of scraping this place, Sophie flew towards him as her eyes gleamed, ”We managed to obtain around ten cubic meters of Blazuk Ore and two cubic meters of Yorang Ore.”

”Good!”

Davis nodded his head, feeling that this kind of reserve was already good. The first time they had obtained Black Yinssa Ore, they obtained a few tons, which altogether amounted to no more than a half a meter thick, arm-sized ore. It was more than enough to forge a swordʼs blade or similar weapon.

As for the Blazuk Ore and Yorang Ore, fortunately, they managed to obtain comparatively more than the Black Yinssa Ore, but it made sense, considering that this place was not yin in nature.

Davis looked around and saw that his gaze met with a Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apeʼs. It was just about to roar when its soul trembled before collapsing on itself. The Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apeʼs orifices bled as it collapsed on the ground, but just before it could hit the surface, it disappeared into Davisʼs spatial ring.

Davis had just used the Incandescent Cry of the Vermilion Bird to instantly take care of it.

This was the sixth site they had been to while Davis took out a few more Peak-Level Lord Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes and a few other magical beasts that chanced upon them during the process of excavation in the other sites. He had killed thirteen of them during this time without making a sound, and just now, one more fell prey to his soul technique.

”Mhm... Am I unlucky not to have met any Low-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes, or am I lucky that I didnʼt meet Mid-Level and above Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes?” Davis loudly wondered.

”You are lucky, but Nadia is unlucky since she didnʼt obtain any meat...” Sophie giggled by the side.

Davis chuckled as he shook his head. He had advised her to go hunt alone, but she refused to leave him, obviously to protect him from danger. However, he already felt like leaving the Purple Thunderflame Island as he felt like he had already killed enough here.

From the moment he entered this island, he had killed and collected so many soul essences already. Three Low-Level King Beast Stage Soul Essences and twenty-seven Peak-Level Lord Beast Stage Soul Essences. He still had to go to the Dark Thunder Island to increase his Lightning Laws while also having a chance to temper his soul, not to mention that there would be magical beasts to hunt. This purple yang lightning was a bit incomprehensible to him due to his specialization in black extinction lightning.

Unless he pondered on for a longer time, he knew that he wouldnʼt be obtaining any benefits from this perpetual purple lightning that fell here. Therefore, he felt that it would be okay to leave now towards the Dark Thunder Island as he had gained much from this Purple Thunderflame Island.

Nevertheless... He looked towards the fire forestʼs direction, the home of the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes, and frowned. There should be more resources in the core region, making him feel reluctant to part. He turned to look at Sophie as his lips moved.

”Is the core region of the fire forest inside the core region of the island?”

Sophie became taken aback before she solemnly nodded her head, ”We absolutely cannot enter that place as even the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes only live at the edges of the fire forestʼs core region.”

Davis decided to honestly listen to her speech. He had no death wish since those purple lightning falling there were mostly at the eighth stage, from low to peak, but there were still the ninth stage ones! If he got hit by one, it would mean certain death. Even here in this inner region, he was already struck three times by eighth stage lightning bolts while Sophie was almost hit once, but Nadia saved them each time without him having to make a move.

But in front of those ninth stage lightning bolts hanging over their heads like a Damocles Sword, he couldnʼt assure any of their lives. Even if Nadia could survive a hit, she might end up gravely injured!

”Alright, weʼll move to the Dark Thunder Island then...” Davis decisively spoke.

Sophie nodded her head without any hesitation. She was already delighted with the number of resources she obtained, so of course, she complied with his wishes without feeling greed for more resources that could be obtained here.

ʼWhen I reach the Law Sea Stage, Iʼll come back here to get more resources with my own strength...ʼ She inwardly nodded her head.

Soon, they left toward the northern coast of the Purple Thunderflame Island, and on their way, Davis spotted a Low-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Ape that seemed to be on the lookout, possibly searching for them.

”Well, well, look at that, my dear Sophie...” Davis was flabbergasted, ”Itʼs a parting gift from the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes...”

With its soul essence, he was possibly ready to break into the King Soul Stage. He thought he would obtain it after reaching the Dark Thunder Island or when possibly voyaging above the sea, but it looks like he didnʼt need to wait that much longer.

Davis used his Dark Concealing Shroud Art to conceal himself as he made his way towards it but suddenly stopped as he saw it swing its fists.

*Boom!~~*

*Boom!~~*

*Boom!~~*

It began to use its fists to destroy the ground as it became quite leveled, looking as if a nuclear bomb had dropped on it.

Davis smiled as he became amused.

What was it doing pounding the ground with its flaming fist? Was it mindless, or was it angry that it was unable to find him?

He was just about to deliver a lethal blow to its neck, severing its head by taking out his scythe, when he abruptly noticed a vague entity flashing through the streams of flowing lava.

ʼWhat was that...?ʼ Davis momentarily felt that it was an illusion, but he noticed it again, flashing as it swam through the lava while the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Ape kept pounding its blazing fists at a particular area, forming an enclosure while the strange light just sneakily got out of it.

Davis had his eyes on it as he didnʼt let it go. He glimpsed at the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Ape and instantly understood that this strange light was escaping from it while the ape was searching for it. He decided to spare the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Ape as he followed the strange light.

Nadia felt that her master was going in another direction rather than attacking the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Ape. She frowned but didnʼt move as she stayed with Sophie.

Davis followed the strange light for a while before it came across a mountain range. It flowed against the stream as it flew up the lavafall before it shot towards the skies, its purple star-like silhouette amidst blazing flames becoming visible to Davis as his eyes shot wide while his mouth went agape in shock.

ʼDamn, isnʼt that the Purple Star Flame...?ʼ
