Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1194 Should It Be This Big...?

The Peak-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Ape Clan remained screaming in pain as it helplessly rolled around. Blood also kept pouring out of its eyes, ears, and nose, causing Davis to see a miserable sight, making him think that if he should put it out of its misery, but he digressed.

In any case, since it was neutralized, he didnʼt think that it would pose trouble to his escape. However, just because it was the Ruler didnʼt mean that there werenʼt other Peak-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes present in this forestʼs core region.

He felt that escaping out of this forest was the most desirable option as his goal was to stay alive and get resources. He couldnʼt afford to injure his soul essence as he was here to train his soul.

Sure, he could heal his soul essence but getting delayed wasnʼt an option, and it would be counterproductive.

Besides, he might have to deal with these Mid-Level and High-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes spreading out, mindlessly searching for him when there was little chance that they could see through Nadiaʼs concealment. At that time, he could hunt them down all he wanted.

He turned back and caressed Nadiaʼs dark fur with a smirk on his face.

”Master, it isnʼt as if I donʼt have to believe in your strength...” Nadia suddenly uttered, ”Itʼs just, I-”

”Thanks, you saved me, Nadia...” Davis gently stroked her head as he reached out with his hand.

”But why did you come? Did you leave Sophie in a safe place?”

He felt worried.

Nadia relaxed, ”Yes, she convinced me to protect master instead, and I also have my doppelganger with her...”

”Smart girl...” Davis grinned as he thoroughly shook her smooth fur.

As expected, was what he thought about the both of them. Both of them did care about him more than he expected.

”Alright, let us return back to Sophie...”

”Yes!”

Nadia increased her speed as her dark wings fluttered, giving her an additional boost of speed as she traveled in the outer regionʼs direction. However, Davis stopped her for a short break, doing what all humans needed to do to feel relieved after eating.

The meat of the Peak-Level Lord Beast Stage Magical Beasts he ate was indeed nutritious to him, but it seemed like his Martial Master Stage Cultivation was unable to completely digest it as it had always done. In any case, he cleaned himself up and left with Nadia.

Fifteen minutes later from the time he escaped, Davis and Nadia arrived before a tiny valley where a stream of lava flowed. Over the walls of the two intersecting mountains, there were a few caves. Nadia led him to one of them as she entered.

Its entrance was a bit narrow, but inside, it was spacious, even capable of supporting Nadiaʼs twenty-three-meter tall and twenty-five-meter long wolf body. Even the space for her two long tails was ample, but now she had only one tail, not until she dissolved her species technique now, gaining back her two dark tails.

Sophie looked at Davis as she smiled. Looking at him be unscathed, she relaxed as she stretched her limbs her body while standing, heaving out a pleasurable sigh, ”I knew nothing would happen to you...”

”Well, thanks to you...” Davis looked around as he nodded his head.

”This is a nice place...”

Sophie giggled, ”I specifically searched for it so that we can all hide for some time if we need to...”

”Donʼt worry. Weʼll get those Yorang Ores eventually...”

”Iʼm not worried.” Sophie shook her head, ”In fact, Iʼm not bothered if we donʼt obtain them either... Right now, Iʼm only good enough to forge with these King Grade Ones. Itʼs good if I can obtain them later on after the Alstreim Familyʼs expedition...”

”Trust me. Youʼll need those Yorang Ores sooner than you think...” Davis revealed a suspicious smile.

Sophie was taken aback before she recalled that she had the Crystallized Flame Bead collected from the dead Low-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Ape with her. However, even with refining that, her prowess would only reach Mid-Level Seventh Stage at best, perhaps one and a half level higher.

She wasnʼt expecting more than that, but once she broke through the Law Dominion Stage, she was confident that she could at least struggle against, defending a few hits from Peak-Level Law Dominion Stage Experts at her best.

She knew that she wouldnʼt be getting her hands on forging by using those Low-Level Emperor Grade Yorang Ores.

”Hehe, youʼre just in luck, Sophie...” Davis raised his brows, ”Do you think that this short trip I took to the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apeʼs Forest was beneficial or not?”

Sophie blinked, not once but twice before she became a bit pale, ”Donʼt tell me you really went to take resources right from their maws!?”

Davis laughed, ”So you did know where I was going... My Sophie is indeed smart...”

”You...”

Sophieʼs lips trembled as she didnʼt know what to say. How can he be so irresponsible in looking after his own skin!?

That forest was literally the death zone of so many Alstreims, and yet he intruded in it when they were actually looking for him!? Her heart almost leaped out of her throat. It kept pounding heavily as she just found it too much to bear!

Even if he could kill these Low-Level King Beast Stage Magical Beasts, the same couldnʼt be said about Mid-Level, High-Level, or even the notorious five Peak-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes, not to mention the current Ruler!

She felt that it was a good thing that she tried to convince Nadia and somehow managed to send her. When he thanked her, she felt it was just politeness, but thinking back, he couldʼve been saved by Nadia.

Sophie inwardly heaved a sigh of relief as she relaxed, ”Please donʼt do something reckless again. I know you are strong, but life can be ended in an instant, especially when you donʼt see it coming.”

”Really? Youʼre telling me that...?” Davis eyed her, causing Sophie to blush heavily.

”Iʼm speaking from experience, okay!?” She cried out, feeling shameful and embarrassed as she hid her face with her palms.

She had learned this the hard way. Without Davis, there were few chances that she would have survived. Even if she survived after the Amberal-Armored Armadillos let go of her after knowing that Weiss Alstreim died, she wouldʼve been still bent on coming to this place.

If she did, she now knew that only death awaits her here.

”Alright, alright. Iʼll try to listen...” Davis consoled her as he held her wrists, seeing her embarrassed expression appear extremely adorable, but he continued.

”The matter is, I obtained many fire-attributed resources in that fire forest, and Iʼve confirmed that a few of these ingredients makes it possible for me to concoct a pill that helps in law comprehension.”

Sophie became taken aback, ”You mean the pills like the ones that are in the markets but hardly increase the chances by five or ten percent...?”

Davis shook his head as he knew that those were trash pills.

The Regal Sunbeam Pill he saw back in the Alchemy Convention in the Ethren City was one such pill that had a bit of a chance to increase comprehension in Fire Laws and Light Laws but good as trash unless people were really confident in their breakthrough.

The same went for the pill that could increase comprehension of Wind Laws a bit, the Verdant Hurricane Pill he bought for his little sister, Diana.

He had already sent it with Princess Isabella to be delivered to Clara.

Sophieʼs eyes lit up, ”Oh my! Then itʼs like the Thousand Pill Palaceʼs authentic pill that increases law comprehension rate by twenty to forty percent!? That would certainly help me improve my law comprehension to the next level if it were the case since I think Iʼm not far off from Level Five Intent in Fire Laws!”

Davis chuckled as he smirked, slowly shaking his head.

Sophieʼs excited expression died down, replaced with shock, ”Donʼt tell me you have a greater variant of these pills...?”

Davis nodded his head as Sophieʼs expression trembled under his grasp. If random people strode into this cave, they would probably be mistaken that Davis was going to violate Sophie with the way it looked.

”The pill I can make assures a rate of fifty to seventy percent... Thatʼs why you donʼt need to worry about reaching Superior Law Manifestation like Evelynn. Iʼll help you achieve that...”

Davis pulled one of her wrists he held towards him and wrapped his other arm over her thin waist as he embraced, feeling her supple softness over his chest before he whispered in her ears.

”... even if you donʼt want to...”

Sophieʼs body shuddered as she felt her legs becoming limp. It wasnʼt the desire to manifest a Superior Law Manifestation but the sensual tickle she felt over her ear that made her tremble in anticipation. The fact that she was alone with him made it worse as she felt like anything could happen in this desolate yet secluded cave.

Nadia was still in her magical beast form, so she didnʼt enter her mind at all!

”Davis... We... we can do it after we return...” She lowered her head as she shyly voiced out.

”No, I can no longer hold back...” Davis whispered, causing Sophieʼs purple pupils to tremble.

Davis still held one of her wrists. He took it to the front of his body, causing Sophie to tremble even more as she felt nervous yet excited at the same time. He then lowered her hand before Sophie felt that she had grasped something hard.

It was squarish in shape, half a meter wide and tall, causing her to blink in extreme confusion.

ʼWhat...? Was it supposed to be this big...?ʼ

She lowered her head and saw a jade container. It was what she was touching.

Sophie raised her hand and looked at him with an incredulous expression on her face.

Davisʼs expression was so weird that it looked like he could burst out laughing at any time as he suppressed the laughter that was threatening to escape from the bottom of his stomach to the best of his ability!
