Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1195 Indeed, It“s A...

A few moments passed in awkward silence as they looked at each other.

Sophie cast him a death stare with her wide eyes as the embarrassment had finally receded from her expression. Her bosoms heaved, her expression blank enough to cause beads of sweat to form over the other party.

Davis strangely coughed and spoke.

”Well, I can no longer hold back in wanting to know what this is special resource is...”

He moved back and handed her the jade container, ”So, do you know what this is?”

Sophieʼs shoulder drooped as she relaxingly held the jade container. She was given a scare just now, but it looks like she was nothing but pranked.

However...

Was it disappointment that she felt when he didnʼt take her now or was it relief she that felt when he chose to respect her wishes? She really didnʼt know.

Perhaps, it was both.

But she then shook her head and smiled, knowing that he didnʼt mean to humiliate her or anything. She knew that these were moments that should be treasured as she opened the jade container, and the moment she did, her smile faded, replaced with a blank expression.

Davisʼs eyes lit up as he saw her reaction. It seemed like she knew what this strange herb was?

”Wait...” Sophie uttered as she kept the jade container on the floor and began to look at it with utter importance as her gaze fell on every part of the leaves and the stem.

Davis also became excited as he looked at her.

He knew that Sophie might be able to identify it even if she is not an Alchemist, Apothecary, or an Herbalist who grows ingredients. After all, she was part of the Alstreim Family, and the Alstreim Family might have records of treasures found here in the past since this island, Purple Thunderflame Island, was well known to them.

He felt she mightʼve even heard about it before.

What are the chances?

Davis didnʼt know, but he sure did want to try as he felt something unique about this strange herb.

”This... Is this what I think it is...!?” Sophie finally screamed, her butt plopping to the ground as she lost her footing.

Davis awaited her answer as he saw him stare at the strange herb in shock. However, even after waiting for two seconds, she still didnʼt answer but possessed a dumbfounded look on her face.

”Sophie...?” He urged.

And then only did she look at him, her expression trembling as if she didnʼt know what to say to his luck.

Taking a deep breath, she pursed her lips before she spoke, smilingly pointing at the strange herb, ”Thatʼs the fabled Ashen Dawn Herb mentioned in one of the records I read...”

”Fabled...?” Davis narrowed his eyes before it shot wide open in realization, ”Itʼs a heavenly resource!?”

Sophie nodded her head, her expression still looking shaken even though she appeared to be suppressing her emotions. She stood up and took a deep breath, patting her robes to get rid of the dust before she exhaled.

”Indeed, itʼs a heavenly resource, capable of directly bestowing Fire Law comprehension as it resonates with the heaven and earth energy, making the user comprehend Level Nine Intent in Fire Laws even if they are incapable of doing so...”

Davisʼs heart shook as he heard her incredulous speech that he became tongue-tied.

Such a thing was incredibly rare... rarer than anything he could think of with his currently short-circuited brain.

But really? Did he obtain a heavenly resource at the fire forestʼs inner region, where it is comparatively safe and not at the core region where it shouldʼve been actually present as risks faced and rewards gained are directly proportional?

”You must be kidding me...” Davis uttered as his lips twitched.

He felt that he didnʼt have such luck! His mind just couldnʼt imagine that he just swaggered to the fire forest, robbed some ingredients along with a strange ingredient before he easily escaped with Nadia, but the strange herb turned out to be a heavenly resource!?

What are the odds of this absurdity occurring!?

He did think of it to be special but not this special!

Sophie shook her head, ”This Ashen Dawn Herb was used by one of our Ancestors, so it is well known amongst people who have read about the experiences of our Ancestors. If I truly am not wrong in identifying this herb, then this should be that fabled Ashen Dawn Herb, which granted a huge boost to that Ancestor when he was a Law Dominion Stage Cultivator!”

”Sophie...” Davis smiled, ”Tell me this is a prank...?”

Sophie helplessly shook her head, ”I read that the Ashen Dawn Herb that the Ancestor used was at Mid-Level King Grade, increasing his Fire Law comprehension to Level Seven Intent, but he... still he...”

Sophieʼs expression became filled with a shade of red as her lips remained closed.

”He?” Davis prompted in curiosity.

”Since it directly raised his Fire Law comprehension, side-effects naturally followed. He first went berserk and defiled the Young Mistress of that time, but even then, since he was also the Young Master who was promised to the Young Mistress, he was easily let go off and even provided more women to his bedchambers as he took their virgin yin essence while trying balance his rampaging yang.”

”Months later of arduous quelling, that Ancestor was finally able to digest his comprehension after balancing his rampaging yang. It was said that later he married all of them who helped him quell, but thatʼs not the point...!”

”You canʼt definitely consume one here!”

Davisʼs eyes twitched.

Why was it that it was a given that he would absorb this strange herb without completely identifying it? Did he look like such a fiend or a greedy fellow or an idiot to her?

In any case...

”Are you sure that this Ashen... Dawn Herb, you say? Can raise oneʼs Fire Law Comprehension to Level Nine Intent regardless of the inability of the user? Is it verified?”

Sophie took a deep breath before she explained again.

”Yes, after the incident, they seem to have naturally investigated and found that that strange herb was the Ashen Dawn Herb that could raise oneʼs Fire Law comprehension to Level Nine Intent directly as long as it has matured to the very peak of King Grade.”

”Its side effects are similar to being administered a potent aphrodisiac, but itʼs not an aphrodisiac in nature since during the bestowal of law comprehension as the herb resonates with the heaven and earth energy inside oneʼs body, it naturally causes the yang of the user to infinitely swell, causing them to be affected with an effect that is similar to being administered an aphrodisiac.”

”If the consumer was a woman, it seems to have the same effect since their yin becomes scraped away from the swelling of yang within their body, making it so that they would also wan... want to share...”

Sophie stuttered as she realized that she got carried away in explaining.

”Well, in any case, it is possible for both parties to die without engaging in dual cultivation. However, dual cultivation is not a requirement. One can find extreme yin locations to quell the rising yang within their bodies, but it must be the freezing type of yin in that location. However, that would also have a chance to freeze them to death.”

”Therefore, offsetting the side-effects with dual cul-”

”Ah! Iʼve said enough. You now know what it is and what it does!” Sophie cut short her speech.

Her cheeks were extremely crimson that she wanted to find a hole and bury herself in it.

Davis shook his head with a chuckle as he saw her adorable reactions before he spoke, ”Looking at this Ashen Dawn Herb closely, one can see that its aura is not stable but lowering a bit with each second. Presumably, it still has a few more years to mature, but Iʼve already brought it out of its unique environment that is required for it to grow...”

”For what it is worth, I have already stolen it from the apeʼs maws and canʼt go place it back.” Davis took the jade container back as he looked at it with greed, ”Therefore, Iʼm going to consume it now!”

”No! If you consume it, you... you will...” Sophie seemed to become tongue-tied, not knowing what to say.

”Naturally, youʼll have to quell my raging desire...” Davis looked at her with a blank expression on his face.

Sophie took a step back as she retreated, her expression quivering in fear.

Months! She would have to spend months in this cave, dual cultivating with him if Davis really consumed it now! She would be doomed if it were the case! It was doubtful if her body could withstand!

”Donʼt...” Sophie shook her head, ”You...!”

However, she noticed the imperceptible curve on his lips, realizing that he was pranking her again! She ran towards him and aggressively beat his chest with her hands while he laughed, not even feeling a bit of pain but felt like a massage.

He wrapped his arms around her, locking her in place as he gave a long kiss on her lips as Sophie squealed.

”Mhmm!~~~”

He moved back his head and saw her deeply embarrassed look.

”Did you think that I would really consume this kind of herb without completely knowing its effects? Unless I am desperate or have a death wish, I would not do that...” Davis shook his head as he gave a peck on her forehead.

”Thatʼs right... I could be wrong in identifying this herb...” Sophie uttered, ”If I am, I apologize....”

”Heh, even if youʼre wrong, itʼs still within my expectations. As I keep saying, you donʼt need to be worried at all...” Davis uttered with extreme confidence.

Sophie bit her lips as she gazed at his sapphire eyes. Her heart fluttered as a crazy thought welled up in her mind.

Perhaps, it wouldnʼt be bad to stay here for months...
