Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1191 It Isn“t A Dream

”Davis... Did you just have a breakthrough in your Fire Law comprehension...?” Sophie blinked, not believing her eyes.

”Heh, seems like it.” Davis smirked, ”However, itʼs not that significant since I had just reached Level One Intent in Fire Laws in both Essence Gathering Cultivation and Soul Forging Cultivation.”

”Just by looking at the complicated engravings, you managed to comprehend in two cultivation systems?” Sophie appeared flabbergasted by Davisʼs speech, ”You really are an Alstreim...”

”Mhm... Now that you mention it, it seems that I inherited both father and motherʼs talent in law comprehension, except I didnʼt concentrate on learning Fire Laws but Lightning Laws...”

Davis knew that he didnʼt comprehend Fire Laws for Essence Gathering Cultivation at all. It was not even at Elementary Intent, yet he directly crossed a level in comprehension and comprehended Level One Intent for Essence Gathering Cultivation while further cementing his comprehension to Level One Intent in Soul Forging Cultivation at the same time.

Perhaps because of his motherʼs higher class background, his talent in comprehending Fire Laws was more than Lightning Laws? After all, comparatively, his fatherʼs and paternal grandfatherʼs talent in Lightning Laws should be lesser as they havenʼt entered higher stages in the past.

Logan had entered the Law Manifestation Stage just recently, causing him to nod in a bit of skepticism and agreement. After all, he also felt that his comprehension of Lightning Laws was thanks to the two Lightning Elementals he absorbed.

”Davis, can I know your age...?”

”... Iʼm about to become twenty-four soon...” Davis absentmindedly answered, still thinking about the intricacies, about what wouldʼve happened if he chose a Fire-Attributed Cultivation Manual first than the Lightning-Attributed one.

Would his Fire Laws be more powerful than his Lightning Laws, excluding the benefits given by the Lightning Elementals?

On the other hand, Sophieʼs expression was utterly stiff in incredulity. She was speechless again.

Twenty-four what!?

She was in her fifties, and she actually chose to fall in love with a man who was younger than her in age? Forget that... Didnʼt he say something about becoming a Soul King in this cultivation training sessions? Twenty-four and a Soul King?

ʼWhat is happening...?ʼ

Sophie felt dizzy as her entire world view was being turned upside down again and again the more she was with him. She didnʼt know if she could really get used to it, as he had said before, but she wanted to get used to it. Otherwise, she didnʼt know when she was going to die of shock.

”Mhmm... Although the Lightning Elementals played a vital role, I cannot deny my fatherʼs talent in Lightning Laws played a part. As for Fire Laws, I have no choice but to accept that I inherited the most out of my mother... Otherwise, this double comprehension wouldnʼt make sense even with the aid of the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apeʼs Crystallized Flame Bead...”

Davis happily turned to look, ”Sophie, I must thank you for making me realize that my com-”

He suddenly stopped, noticing that her expression was rather abnormal. He held her shoulders and shook her, ”Sophie, are you alright?”

Sophie did indeed come out of her reverie, but her expression was funny as she didnʼt know if she should laugh or cry, perhaps both.

”Davis, you are younger than me by thirty years...?”

Davis became taken aback before he recalled saying something about his age. He smirked, finally knowing what it was that bothered her.

”Yes. Is it an impediment to our relationship?”

”No!” Sophie hurriedly shook her head before she shyly turned her head away in embarrassment, ”Itʼs just... I never thought that I would fall in love with a younger man...”

Sophie was deeply embarrassed, alright. After all, she always imagined that Davis was around eighty-years old, or at the very least, sixty years old, similar to her since he was said to be below hundred years old. She didnʼt know what to think after he told her that he was twenty-freaking-four!

This was just too much to bear for her heart and mind.

On the other hand, Davis became ecstatic about the fact that she was thirty years older than him. After all, his true age or soul age can be said to be fifty-four years old.

She was perfectly his age. However, he felt that this should be explained by his wives rather than him since it would be more believable.

ʼNow that I recall... Natalya still doesnʼt know that... Only Evelynn and Isabella know about my past...ʼ Davis pursed his lips as he thought, ʼOh well, Iʼll have to rely on Evelynn again to explain to the both of them...ʼ

Davis felt sorry for troubling her again, but she has to take a few responsibilities since she was the big sister. He inwardly yet shamelessly convinced himself.

He waved his hand and put the seventy-meter tall body into his spatial ring as the wind picked up the fill the empty space. He then pushed the Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apeʼs Crystallized Flame Bead to Sophie, wanting her to have it.

”Still, this would be useful to you than me... Iʼm going to concentrate on my soul. As for Fire Laws, there are many resources out there in the world. Weʼll obtain as many as we need...” Davis smiled.

However, that smirk was extremely attractive to Sophie as she saw the confidence in him. It pulled her in like the empty void, making her heart rapidly beat for obvious reasons.

She lowered her head and uttered, ”Thank you...”

*Boom!~~~*

A bolt of peak-level seventh stage lightning fell tens of meters away from them, causing them to shake their heads with smiles.

”Letʼs move on...” Davis grasped her delicate hand and headed towards the inner region.

He smiled as he felt convinced with this hunt. Not only did he obtain a Low-Level King Beast Stage Soul Essence and six Peak-Level Lord Beast Stage Soul Essences, but he also obtained a unique resource, making it extremely worth it.

ʼDamn, this is remarkably easier than facing an entire clan. I hope I meet a few more scouting or scavenging parties so I could hunt with my own strength...ʼ Davis inwardly felt the satisfaction.

”I hope we find a few kilograms of Yorang Ores... If not, itʼs also not a problem since I possibly could not melt them with my current strength...” Sophie uttered.

”Is that so...?” Davis smiled as he stared at her.

”What...?” Sophieʼs expression became filled with a crimson hue.

Why was he looking at her like that, as if there was a hidden intent behind his look?

”Whatʼs your Law Manifestationʼs level?”

”Uh...” Sophieʼs expression deflated even as she tried to smile.

Normally, she could say it with a proud tone, but in front of Davis, she found it extremely shameful instead.

Many women would spit at her back at home and give her the wicked eye for being with Davis, thinking that she had seduced him by selling her body. She knew that this kind of situation would be set in stone without a doubt if their relationship ever became public. However, she wasnʼt worried about that.

She was worried about her own shortcomings as she felt that she was not a match with Davis. His wives all appeared powerful, not to mention Dragon Queen Isabella. She did not know how she was going to face them or even have the right to speak with them.

She absolutely idolized Dragon Queen Isabella in the past, fixing her as a role model since she had the strongest Body Tempering Cultivation out of all the youths she had ever seen. Heck, she was stronger than the Elders, Grand Elders, and even their Ancestor in Body Tempering Cultivation.

She adored such an ʼIsabellaʼ, and now, when she thought of standing equally with them, she felt unworthy to the core.

The prowess she was once proud of was worth nothing more than a fart in front of them.

”Go on, tell me...” Davisʼs voice became a little softer.

”I... Iʼve manifested a Distinguished Law Manifestation...”

”Distinguished Law Manifestation, huh...” Davis nodded his head.

This was more than good for an Alstreim Family elite. Only Nora Alstreim is said to have comprehended Grand Law Manifestation among the youths, and Distinguished Law Manifestation is one level lower, so he could understand.

He felt that comprehending Level Two Intent at the time of breaking through to the Law Manifestation Stage to manifest a Distinguished Law Manifestation was very good. She was similar to his mother and father in this case.

”But since then, Iʼve improved my law comprehension, reaching Level Four Intent!”

She softly bellowed, sounding as if she wanted to be approved of by him, that she would cultivate even hard from now, but she also appeared to be panicking as if she didnʼt want to see his disappointed expression.

Davis became satisfied on hearing her.

Already Level Four Intent?

Heck, his Lightning Laws was also at Level Four Intent, not at all having improved from the time he entered the Law Manifestation Stage!

Nevertheless, he understood that reaching a certain level in law comprehension and manifesting is different from manifesting and improving law comprehension.

Even though Sophie had comprehended Level Four Intent, she was still unable to reconstruct her manifestation into Superior Law Manifestation or even Grand Law Manifestation since she didnʼt have enough energy to support the cause.

However, with his help, would that be a problem?

Heck, even without his help, she was sure to re-manifest Grand Law Manifestation from this point.

After all, since she now belonged to him, the Alstreim Family might pore their entire resources on her as a sign of good faith, as well as to maintain a good relationship with him. It wouldnʼt be an exaggeration to say that Ancestor Dian Alstreim would personally award her with a Low-Level Emperor Grade Flame Essence that is usually reserved for the worthy Young Master or Young Mistress.

”Sophie...” Davis uttered, causing her to become anxious.

”What do you think about Evelynnʼs cultivation?”

Sophie blinked, wondering why she was being asked this question. She knew that some kind of advice, perhaps a harsh one, was coming, so she prepared herself, biting her lips before she spoke out her thoughts.

”Evelynn is truly a strong woman who took out Diamanda Alstreim easily during the tiny battle exchange... If I am not wrong, she shouldʼve manifested Grand Law Manifes- no, Superior Law Manifestation! Otherwise, there was no way that she could cross almost an entire stage to battle!”

Davis smiled, ”You are right. My Evelynn has indeed manifested a Superior Law Manifestation.”

Sophieʼs expression didnʼt change as if this was expected. She pursed her lips, waiting for him to continue.

”However, do you know that she was nothing more than an average Body Transformation Cultivator six years ago?”

”Youʼre kidding...?” Sophieʼs expression became abnormal.

”Iʼm not kidding.” Davis slowly shook his head, ”Evelynn is from a righteous power alright, contrary to what you may expect. She was assumed to be untalented, scorned by her peers and elders alike, but she tried hard to cultivate for me ever since we married even though she had little interest. Later on, I managed to find her talent in Poison Laws and encouraged her to follow that path. She was reluctant at first but eventually made her choice, only to become the powerful and also, a feared existence you all think she is...”

”In truth, she is a kind soul who would even hesitate to wrong someone...”

Davis was a bit emotional as he spoke, and hearing it invoked many emotions in Sophieʼs heart, causing her to imagine many things in her mind. Unexpectedly, she didnʼt mind and was instead curious.

”My Natalya also has a similar story. If they can become like a powerful existence in a short amount of time with me, then what about you?”

Davis deeply stared at her as he asked.

”I can...?” Sophieʼs heart trembled.

”You can, and you even have the determination to do so...” Davis smiled as he tightly held her hand, sounding as if he placed greater belief in her.

”Walk along with us... If you do so, the Ninth Stage isnʼt far off from us, and even reaching immortality isnʼt a dream!”

Davis implied with a solemn voice, causing great waves to arise within Sophieʼs heart.

Somehow, she didnʼt find the words emanating from his mouth as a lie at all!
