Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1166 Leaving the Tortoise Island

Davis didnʼt turn to look around for some reason. However, both Nadia and Sophie Alstreim did, causing their eyes to become wide open as their hearts palpitated.

Thousands of Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises appeared before their eyes, soaring over the black mountain range as they unleashed their myriad undulations of various stages and levels!

Fifteen-meter tall Grand Beast Stage Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises, twenty-meter tall Saint Beast Stage Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises, twenty-five meter tall Lord Beast Stage Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises, and thirty-meter tall King Beast Stage Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises were present, their undulations flaring, sending it right towards their faces!

Nadia simply waved her hand before a dark barrier appeared behind the flying boat as it blocked the pressure from toppling them. She narrowed her brows as a look of solemness appeared in her golden pupils. She could see that there were at least fifty King Beast Stage Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises right above the black mountain range!

At this moment, the monstrous Peak-Level King Beast Stage Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoise appeared, along with a similar-looking Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoise, but appeared to be more intimidating than any other Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoise on this island.

”Humans!!! The next time you all set foot on this island will certainly be the reason for your demise!!!” A ruthless male voice echoed, invoking a dust storm on the sandy shore along with it.

Sophie Alstreimʼs small frame trembled as her knees trembled.

What kind of line up was this?

She couldnʼt help but relax as they didnʼt pursue them, also causing her to express, ”Likely; theyʼre aware that if they kill us, our Revered Ancestor will attack them without hesitation.”

”Fortunately, only the that Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoise was responsible for its hundreds of brethrenʼs death. What do-”

A gesture from the side, from Nadia, suddenly stopped her from speaking as she turned back to see Alchemist Davisʼs back. She blinked, belatedly realizing that his posture and the undulations around him was almost as if he was one with heaven and earth.

ʼHe entered an enlightened state...!?ʼ Her eyes became wide before it promptly relaxed.

Her brows couldnʼt help but twitch. It was unknown how many times her perception of him had changed, and just when she felt that he could no longer faze her with his strength and actions, he now entered an enlightened state amidst the presence of a thousand enemies behind them?

ʼWhat kind of person is he truly...?ʼ She couldnʼt help but cast a complex gaze at him.

What kind of a man did she get involved with?

Then her body suddenly went stiff as it came back to her! She had kissed this man! Her expression trembled as she lowered her head, becoming afraid of what would happen after Alchemist Davis came out of his enlightened state.

Nadia narrowed her brows as she intently watched Davis. From her viewpoint and senses, she perceived that her master was comprehending something related to the strange energy she received from his soul. Thinking about it, she didnʼt find it strange at all.

After a minute, Davis opened his eyes as the vast sea and skies came into his view. He possessed a peculiar outlook on the world as he cast a look at the thousands of powerful carcasses, inwardly thanking them for the meal.

ʼAs some people say... the third time is the charm! The Death-like Laws I have comprehended in the past has experienced some improvements...ʼ

The lightning around the sea are had probably receded a bit, allowing him to finally comprehend.

However, his expression deflated a bit.

He had missed the prime time to gain enlightenment, and that lowered his efficiency of what he could comprehend. Currently, he didnʼt know how his Death-like Laws could fare against Primary Laws and Greater Laws like Yin and Yang.

Surely, it should be powerful, but he didnʼt know by how much and at what level it was at as he had no yardstick to compare. However, since he felt like the Death-like Law should be a Greater Law or something above, it should still be at the Elementary Intent.

Abruptly, a vague sharp pain jolted him out from his thoughts. Only then did he recall that his left arm was severed.

He turned back and saw Sophie Alstreim and Nadia look at him with worry as they saw his severed arm. His gaze then moved to the legion of Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises stationed on top of the black mountain range. Although the dozens of King Beast Stage Magical Beasts had him widen his eyes, his lips couldnʼt help but turn into a curve.

ʼLooks like they chose life...ʼ

He smiled, knowing that they didnʼt attack him since he didnʼt kill that crybaby Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoise. If he did, he would be forced to run for his life even with Fallen Heaven. After all, why would he choose to end his own life along with him? Killing those King Beast Stage Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises would surely scrape down his soul essence to extremely low levels, making him a retard or die an unnatural death from weakness.

At that time, even if he screamed from the reincarnation cycle, perhaps only a useless goddess would burst out laughing at him.

Davisʼs gaze returned to Sophie Alstreim as he narrowed her eyes.

Sophie Alstreimʼs expression turned stiff, wanting to avoid his gaze but also wanting to see what he would say to her action. She was extremely conflicted at this moment.

”Take control of the flying boat and navigate to a safe island nearby...”

”Yes...” Sophie Alstreim blurted out before she blanked out for a moment. It wasnʼt about what she did? But she instantly realized, ”Eh? Take control...?”

She was the navigator who took them to the sea of lightning. At this moment, she held little to no confidence in being able to navigate this crappy sea that killed her thousand times over. She didnʼt know how she got the idea to enter here to improve herself as it now appeared to be nothing more than suicidal.

She knew that she had overestimated herself!

No wonder hundreds of the Alstreim Familyʼs young elites die in the Hundred Devil Thunder Archipelago every decade!

”You canʼt? Iʼm going to recover.” Davis pointed at his missing left arm with his right handʼs index finger.

Sophie Alstreim panicked as she raised her hands, ”Ah! I... Please endure for a while! Iʼll instantly get to a safe island and tend to your injuries.”

The next moment, she instantly took control of the flying boat as Davis let go of it before she steered directions and left the coast.

The Twin-Shelled Earthen Tortoises watched them leave and didnʼt do anything to stop them. Davis waved his right hand at them, specifically at the crybaby before he became seated.

At this moment, all the exhaustion from the fight came crashing down on him, making him close his eyes as he felt the sharp pain pulsate again. He had used ten percent of his essence energy and almost seventy percent of his martial energy, making him feel a bit exhausted other than the periodically reverberating pain.

He opened his eyes and moved his left shoulder that still had a ʼbit of an armʼ around. His eyes couldnʼt help but twitch that it looked both terrible and funny. He had his arm severed before, but this was something all the way to the shoulder, making him feel a bit nostalgic.

”Al- Alchemist Davis! Please donʼt move around like that. Youʼll worsen the injuries...”

A worried voice echoed, causing Davis to look at Sophie Alstreimʼs back profile.

”Youʼre telling me that you can heal me and make my arm regenerate? You worry for me?”

Sophie Alstreimʼs eyes imperceptibly jerked before she returned her gaze back to the sea to navigate.

”Of course... Please be rest assured. Although I am not an apothecary, I have read books related to it so that I donʼt remain clueless.”

”Although...” Sophie Alstreim bit her lips in helplessness and blame, ”I donʼt think that I can regenerate that left arm of yours... Likely, the whole Alstreim Family is not capable of doing something like that...”

She turned back as she consoled, ”But please be assured! The Alstreim Family would go to any lengths to protect your being that they would definitely acquire a Peak-Level King Grade Pill that could restore a High-Level Martial Master Stageʼs limb without any problems...”

Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle.

Indeed, it was clear that Sophie Alstreim already knew that he was an Alstreim and presumably also knew that he was indispensable to the familyʼs growth as there was a chance that Grand Elder Krax Alstreim mightʼve vaguely informed his importance to her.

Nevertheless, he turned to look back at his left shoulder and put off the idea of recovering it for now.

”Well... Experiencing what Evelynn had experienced in the past might not be bad for a little longer...” His chest heaved before he made himself comfortable as he leaned back on the flying boatʼs wooden fence.

Sophie Alstreim heard his mumble as she became taken aback. Does that mean that Evelynn had also lost her arm once?

While thinking of it, she navigated the boat to a tiny island that spanned a few square kilometers. It seemed to be inhabited by nothing, so she disembarked the flying boat on that island.

Nadia exuded her King Beast Stage undulations for the whole short journey. Not a single magical beast dared to attack the flying boat, and after they arrived at the island, her undulations flared like a tsunami, creating ripples and waves of a reverse tide that clashed with the seaʼs tide.

It was as if she was claiming that this tiny island was her territory!

The surrounding magical sea-beasts that spectated returned deep into the sea as they heard the message sound and clear. Although some of them were provoked, they didnʼt dare to show their heads as the other party was too strong.

Davis waved his right hand, and the flying boat disappeared into his spatial ring. He looked around and found a highland, a few trees that danced along with the breeze.

He jumped towards the highland and waved his hand before the same old wooden house appeared, after which all three of them entered.
