Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1150: Chapter 1150: Who Is the Prey?

That time had been the first time Ye Fei had ever been at a disadvantage since gaining his powers, and it had been at the hands of a woman, which left a deep impression on him.

Later, he had inquired with Shui Rou and the elder in charge of the matter, but they were unaware of the specific identity of the woman who had captured him.

They only knew she was a bounty hunter who had taken the mission posted online by them. After she handed over Ye Fei to the people of the Shuiyue Palace, there had been no further contact.

Ye Fei had thought that he would probably never cross paths with this woman again, the only one who had ever gotten the better of him. Yet, here she was, watching him once more.

Considering her profession, it was likely that she had taken another mission from one of his enemies.

However, Ye Fei was no longer the inexperienced young man he had been back then. His strength had increased exponentially, and his experience in the world was far greater.

This time, it was uncertain who would become the prey and who the hunter.

In truth, Ye Fei harbored no real animosity towards this charming and sexy bounty hunter. After all, she was merely doing her job, taking money to eliminate a target.

Moreover, had she not captured him, he would not have met Shui Rou under those circumstances and developed an unexpected bond with her. In a way, the huntress could be considered a matchmaker between him and Shui Rou.

Nevertheless, Ye Fei could not simply ignore a woman who might cause trouble at any moment, especially now that school had started and he had finally escaped his grandmother’s watchful eye. He wanted to spend some intimate time with his woman, and having someone lurking in the shadows was far from ideal.

”Yunqi, you go ahead. Someone’s following us. I need to take care of this,” Ye Fei whispered to his sister, feeling somewhat annoyed. He was about to see two of his beloved teachers, especially Yu Wuxia, who had left for further studies shortly after they started dating and then went home for the New Year.

It had been months since they last saw each other, and Ye Fei was eager to lavish her with affection. Being interrupted was naturally frustrating.

Ye Yunqi nodded and walked towards the teaching building alone. She wasn’t worried about her brother’s safety at all.

As one of the few who knew just how powerful he was, she was confident that unless the person following them was as strong as their grandmother, which was highly unlikely, her brother would be fine. Even if it were such a formidable opponent, her presence would only be a burden.

After parting ways with his sister, Ye Fei wasted no time and walked straight towards the direction of the bounty hunter.

Although it would have been the best course of action to secretly follow her to uncover the mastermind behind the mission, Ye Fei didn’t want to waste that time. He was confident that he could extract the information he needed.

Besides, if this mission were posted online like the last one with the Shuiyue Palace, the bounty hunter probably wouldn’t know the identity of the person who hired her, making it even more pointless to waste time.

Seeing Ye Fei walking straight towards her, the bounty hunter, Yue Xinru, was taken aback. As a professional, she had access to more information than the average person. Although she wasn’t sure just how powerful Ye Fei had become, she knew he was far beyond her capabilities to confront directly.

In fact, after capturing Ye Fei the last time, Yue Xinru had been reluctant to take any more missions involving him.

Despite her dislike for men who were unfaithful, Ye Fei’s remorseful and self-blaming expression, along with his words, had lingered in her mind for a long time. She couldn’t bring herself to hate him, the only man who had ever touched her, and instead felt an inexplicable emotion towards him.

This time, she had accepted the mission despite knowing how powerful he was and despite not hating him, because the person who had hired her was someone she owed a great debt of gratitude. It was a risk she felt she had to take.

As a professional, Yue Xinru’s ability to hide was exceptional. However, being discovered by Ye Fei with just one glance made her realize that he was even more formidable than she had imagined. She quickly turned to leave.

But Ye Fei didn’t give her the chance. In just a few strides, he was beside her, smiling slightly as he said, ”Miss Bounty Hunter, we meet again. How about we find a place to have a nice chat?”

”I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know you!” Yue Xinru replied dismissively, her eyes darting around, looking for a way to escape. She quickly came up with a plan.

Ye Fei’s smile remained, but his tone turned colder, ”You’d better come with me quietly. Don’t make me use force.”

”Then go ahead. If you dare to touch me, I’ll scream rape and see if you can afford the embarrassment,” Yue Xinru said triumphantly. This was her plan to get away. It was the first day of school, and the campus was filled with students and parents.

Ye Fei was a well-known figure, and he was already attracting attention. She figured he would be concerned about his image.

”This is on you,” Ye Fei said coldly, but he turned and walked away as if threatened by Yue Xinru.

Before Yue Xinru could catch her breath, she found herself unable to control her body. She involuntarily followed Ye Fei towards his car.

This terrified Yue Xinru, and she tried to scream for help, but no sound came out.

Ye Fei, walking ahead, acted as if he didn’t know Yue Xinru. He got into the car by himself, while Yue Xinru followed, opened the passenger door, and sat inside. Ye Fei immediately started the car and began to drive out slowly.

As the car started, Yue Xinru regained control of her body and asked in horror, ”Are you human or a ghost?”

”What do you think?” Ye Fei replied indifferently and ignored her from then on.

Yue Xinru knew that Ye Fei couldn’t be a ghost; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been captured by her before, and what just happened wasn’t a supernatural event. It was that Ye Fei had reached a level of power beyond her wildest imagination.

This filled her with great concern, not only for herself but also for the client, who was both a good friend and a benefactor.

With Ye Fei so powerful and her mission already failed, how could they possibly withstand his retaliation?
