Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1115: Chapter 1115 Heading to the Capital Again (2)

What the hell kind of opinion is that? Zhuo Feng’er inwardly spat, but she didn’t let it show on her face.

She still smiled and said, ”We’ll take the feedback on board and make the necessary changes. We hope Director Zhang and the leaders of your bureau will give us another chance.”

With that, she blatantly took out a check and placed it on Director Zhang’s desk.

Director Zhang glanced at the check discreetly. He saw a ”1” followed by seven zeros, and his heart skipped a beat. The amount was astronomical. Even higher-ups rarely received such a large sum at once.

He also blatantly pocketed the check, and his expression immediately softened. ”Sure, sure, don’t worry. Your films will get strong support in the future.”

Hearing this, Ye Fei and the others thought the matter was settled. But then Director Zhang changed the subject and said, ”However, this movie Xianling is out of the question. Your main theme is already set, and changing it now would be pointless.

Without a love story, there won’t be any audience. If we let it pass, wouldn’t that lower the overall standard of our country’s films?”

Upon hearing this, Zhuo Feng’er and Mu Ling almost exploded with anger. They thought to themselves, How shameless can this guy be? They wondered who was dragging down the quality of domestic films.

Ye Fei was also speechless. He had seen the way these big bureaus operated, and it was far worse than the underworld.

Even when Lingyun Company was at its most corrupt under Ye Yu’s control, they knew to deliver on promises when they were paid. But this so-called public servant? He had just taken the money and immediately turned his back on them.

Zhuo Feng’er took a deep breath, suppressing her anger, and said bluntly, ”But the few movies our company has released before have all been well-received, and none of them had love stories. Why can’t this one be an exception?”

As Zhuo Feng’er said, Lingyun Company’s previous movies didn’t involve romance because the scripts were written by Situ Ying, who had never even had a crush, let alone a love affair.

How could she write about something she had no experience with?

Now, Situ Ying did have a secret crush, and her new scripts did include romance, but those scripts hadn’t started filming yet.

”No means no. That’s the decision from above,” Director Zhang’s expression darkened, and he picked up his teacup, signaling that the meeting was over. ”It’s already past office hours. You should leave now.”

Ye Fei knew that further discussion was pointless, so he didn’t let Zhuo Feng’er waste any more time. He stepped forward, got close to Director Zhang, and asked in a deep voice, ”So you’re saying you can’t make the final call?”

Ye Fei’s words annoyed Director Zhang, but it was the truth, so he replied nonchalantly, ”You can think of it that way.”

”Then let someone who can make the call come out and see me,” Ye Fei said coldly.

”Big words!” Director Zhang turned his face away and looked at Ye Fei sideways. ”I know who you are, Ye Fei. I’ve heard you have some influence in the southeast, but don’t forget, this is the capital, not your playground!”

”So you’re not planning to let your boss see me?” Ye Fei asked in a deep voice, thinking that this guy was both pitiful and detestable.

He had no idea what Ye Fei had done in the capital last time, or he wouldn’t dare speak like this. It seemed he was just a scapegoat.

However, even as a scapegoat, Ye Fei had no intention of letting him off the hook. Not to mention anything else, just the way he had looked at Zhuo Feng’er and Mu Ling at the beginning was enough to put him on Ye Fei’s death list.

Unaware that he was already on the brink of disaster, Director Zhang still acted arrogantly: ”That’s right. Not only is it already after office hours and our leaders are not here, but even if they were, you couldn’t just demand to see them!”

”Very well!” Ye Fei suddenly grinned wickedly. ”I’m not a big fan of anal, but I do it occasionally.”

”What do you mean?” Director Zhang looked at Ye Fei in horror, clearly misunderstanding.

Zhuo Feng’er and Mu Ling’s faces also looked a bit strange. They couldn’t help but wonder if their man, surrounded by so many beautiful women, had developed a case of aesthetic fatigue and was looking for something different.

But even so, why choose such an unattractive man? Moreover, their own ”blossoms” were not off-limits to him, so why would he need to look for a man?

It wasn’t surprising that the two women thought this way. After all, Ye Fei’s strange smile and words were too easily misunderstood.

Ye Fei, however, paid no mind to what others might think and continued on his own accord, ”Today, I’m gonna blow this whole place sky-high!”

Hearing this, the two women finally let out a sigh of relief, while Director Zhang’s face turned ashen with horror as he stammered, ”What on earth do you plan to do?”

”Didn’t I just say? Blow this place to bits!” Ye Fei growled, reaching out to pull the two ladies into his arms. Then, an overwhelmingly powerful surge of energy erupted from within him.

With a thunderous roar that shook half of the capital, Director Zhang, who was at the epicenter, was obliterated into smithereens by the blast, which was comparable to a super bomb detonating. In an instant, the luxurious building crumbled into a pile of rubble.

Amidst the deafening explosion, Ye Fei leaped into the sky with the two women in his arms, arcing gracefully through the air before landing unscathed in a grove of trees in a nearby plaza.

The two women, stunned by the sudden turn of events, took a moment to regain their composure before they spoke in unison, ”Did you just blow it up?”

”Isn’t the evidence right before your eyes?” Ye Fei replied with a grin. ”How does it feel?”

”Cathartic, incredibly cathartic!” the two women echoed once more.

Hearing the woman’s response, Ye Fei felt a bit puzzled. Zhuo Feng’er’s reaction made sense; she had always been ruthless and was in the film industry, which meant she had been dealing with this place’s frustrations for a long time.

But Mu Ling was different. She had always been gentle and kind-hearted. Wasn’t she worried that his actions might harm innocent people?
