Chapter 1117: Chapter 1117: General Zhou’s Family

Ye Fei put away his phone and asked the two aunts, ”I’m heading to General Zhou’s place now. Do you want to come with me or wait for me on the plane?”

”Let’s go together!” the two women replied in unison.

”Are you sure you heard me? I’m going to see General Zhou Shichang. Are you not afraid?” Ye Fei teased the aunts.

To be honest, if it were in the past, they would have been quite intimidated. General Zhou Shichang’s name was known throughout the country. He was one of the top figures in the nation, and he wielded military power.

In ancient times, he would have been like a prince. They were just two businesswomen, and no matter how successful they were, they would naturally feel nervous in front of such a prominent figure.

But now, they weren’t afraid. Not just of General Zhou, but even if they had to face the most powerful leader in the country, they wouldn’t be scared. In their hearts, their beloved young man was the strongest person in the world.

With him by their side, they had nothing to fear. So, they laughed and said together, ”As long as we’re with you, we’re not afraid!”

Although the aunts were speaking the truth, it was precisely because of this that Ye Fei’s sense of masculinity was greatly satisfied. He laughed heartily and said, ”Alright, let’s go together!”

Exiting the grove, the three of them noticed that the small plaza was nearly deserted, while the area outside the newly formed ruins was swarming with people.

The Chinese are naturally curious and love a good spectacle, especially when it involves such a prominent location.

Ignoring the commotion, Ye Fei and the two aunts left the plaza, hailed a taxi, and headed straight for the Zhou family’s residence.

Unlike the Song family, the Zhou family wasn’t a large clan. General Zhou Shichang had only one son, who had married a woman with no particular background.

There had been no strategic alliances through marriage with other families, so their residence was different from that of the Song family. They lived in the same area as most of the top-tier figures in the country.

Taxis, of course, couldn’t enter such a place, so Ye Fei and the aunts got out of the car at the perimeter. Just as they were about to proceed, a stretched ”Hongqi” sedan pulled up in front of them.

As the car stopped, the first person to step out was a girl around sixteen or seventeen years old, with a round, adorable face. She looked charming. Without any shyness, she ran straight up to Ye Fei and said with a smile, ”Brother Ye Fei, long time no see!”

The girl’s appearance was unfamiliar to Ye Fei, but he knew exactly who she was from her address to him. She was none other than General Zhou Shichang’s only granddaughter, Zhou Tingting.

Zhou Tingting was the same age as Ye Fei and Ye Yunqi, just a little over a month older than them. When they were kids and played together, she always insisted on being the older sister. Surprisingly, after more than ten years, she still hadn’t changed that habit.

”Tingting, I didn’t expect you to come pick me up personally,” Ye Fei said with a smile. Even though he knew she was likely the descendant of an enemy, he simply couldn’t bring himself to hate this childhood playmate.

”It’s not just me, my parents are here too,” Zhou Tingting replied with a smile.

Following her words, two more people got out of the car. One was a tall, robust middle-aged man in a military uniform. Behind him was an incredibly beautiful woman, exuding a gentle and delicate aura. She was General Zhou Shichang’s son, Zhou Bo, and his wife, Li Minghua.

Like his father, Zhou Bo had joined the military at an early age. Now, at just forty years old, he had already risen to the rank of major general.

Although he was far from being on par with Liu Junyi, he was still considered exceptional. His wife, Li Minghua, was a simple, home-oriented woman who rarely appeared in public, focusing on taking care of her family and raising their children.

”Uncle Zhou, Auntie Li, I’m sorry to trouble you to come all this way,” Ye Fei said apologetically.

Zhou Bo laughed heartily and said, ”Ye Fei, you’re being too formal. You never used to be like this when you were a kid.”

Li Minghua, on the other hand, just smiled gently and shyly, and nodded at Ye Fei and the two aunts.

”Alright, then I won’t be polite,” Ye Fei said with a smile, and introduced the two women: ”These are Auntie Zhuo and Auntie Mu. They’re both from Lingyun Film Company and are my capable assistants.”

Zhou Bo and his wife greeted Zhuo Feng’er and Mu Ling politely, while Zhou Tingting sweetly called out to the two aunts as if she were very familiar with them.

After the initial pleasantries, everyone got into the car and drove into one of the most important places in the country. General Zhou Shichang was already waiting for them at his residence.

After greeting each other, Ye Fei wished General Zhou a happy New Year. Without beating around the bush, General Zhou got straight to the point, ”Ye Fei, do you have any idea how much trouble you’ve caused this time? It’s already caused a lot of dissatisfaction.”

”So what? That place deserved to be destroyed. It’s because of them that we don’t have good TV shows or movies to watch. Brother, don’t worry. With me around, no one will dare to bother you!”

Before Ye Fei could respond, Zhou Tingting interjected, still speaking in a sisterly tone, but her eyes were sparkling with admiration for her childhood playmate, who was known as the ”King of the Southeast.”

Instead of putting on any airs, Ye Fei asked directly, ”Grandpa Zhou, how do you plan to handle this situation?”

”What other way is there? We’ll just claim it was a terrorist attack,” General Zhou said, sounding like a stern yet kind grandfather, scolding, ”You young man, why do you always cause such a big fuss and give us so much trouble?”

”There’s no other way. They provoked me. I’m just like this. If anyone dares to mess with the people I care about, no matter who they are, they won’t end up well,” Ye Fei said indifferently, his words carrying a clear warning—back off, or things won’t go well for you!

Hearing Ye Fei’s words, General Zhou’s expression didn’t change. Instead, it was Zhou Tingting whose beautiful eyes sparkled even more with admiration for Ye Fei.

With that, the topic was dropped. To ordinary people, bringing down an office building might seem like a big deal, but neither Ye Fei nor General Zhou took it seriously.

The atmosphere then became very warm and friendly. Li Minghua chatted with Zhuo Feng’er and Mu Ling, while Ye Fei and the Zhou father and son sat down at the dining table.

As for Zhou Tingting, she didn’t stay with her mother and the other women. Instead, she stayed by Ye Fei’s side, both admiring and curious about her childhood playmate whom she hadn’t seen for over ten years.
