Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1114: Chapter 1114: Heading to the Capital Again (1)

”Here’s the situation: The State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television has a rule that domestic films cannot be publicly screened in the country if they participate in international film selections without passing their review.” Zhuo Feng’er took over the explanation.

Although she had joined the company the latest, her strong capabilities had quickly made her the de facto decision-maker.

In comparison, Situ Ying focused solely on technical aspects, while Mu Ling’s abilities were relatively weaker.

As for Xu Wei’er and the other young girls like Gu Xuehan, who had not yet returned, they were even less experienced.

”I’m aware of that,” Ye Fei nodded. Although he didn’t pay much attention to such matters, he had heard of this regulation.

To be honest, he thought it was somewhat overbearing, but overall, its intentions were more beneficial than harmful, so he had never considered opposing it. He said, ”Then just submit it for their review.”

Zhuo Feng’er sighed, ”If only it were that simple. The problem is, when we sent it to them, they didn’t even glance at the script before rejecting it.”

”Why would they do that? Winning international awards should be beneficial to them as well, right?” Xu Wei’er interjected, questioning.

She had spent the New Year with Mu Ling in Gan City and had just returned today, only just learning about this issue. She was well aware of the new film personally directed by Situ Ying.

From both a professional and a layman’s perspective, it was impeccable and did not violate any of the Administration’s rigid regulations, so she was quite puzzled.

Ye Fei, however, had already made some guesses, ”I’m afraid it’s because our film is too well-made, and it’s already affecting their interests. After all, we’re just doing our job properly, unlike those established big directors who have all sorts of connections with them.”

”That’s exactly what I think. Over the years, the film and television industry has been muddied by these people, who feed the audience with those nauseatingly bad films. So many talented young directors have been suppressed and can’t break through!” Situ Ying said indignantly.

Although she hadn’t experienced these things firsthand, she had heard plenty within the same circle.

Xu Wei’er still couldn’t let go of her doubts and asked, ”But our play doesn’t violate any regulations. What reason do they have to reject it?”

”Their opinion is that our play has no male lead and doesn’t involve romance, so they predict it will have no market,” Situ Ying said, a mocking smile involuntarily appearing at the corner of her mouth.

”Damn it, what a ridiculous excuse!” This time, Ye Fei was also angered. He had long heard that the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television, jokingly referred to as the ”Bare-bottom Administration,” and the Football Association were the two most absurd departments.

He didn’t expect that these people had become so brazen, completely disregarding public opinion. He wondered what those bigwigs were thinking.

After a brief pause, Ye Fei asked again, ”Have you thought of any solutions?”

Seeing Ye Fei look at her, Situ Ying turned her face away and said, ”Sister Feng’er has a plan!” She didn’t agree with Zhuo Feng’er’s plan.

Zhuo Feng’er gave a wry smile and said, ”I think their main concern is the loss of profit. So let’s just throw money at it and force it through.”

Ye Fei was taken aback. Zhuo Feng’er’s method was indeed simple and brutal, but it couldn’t be denied that it was the most effective for a nation that collectively had its eyes on money. Situ Ying understood this as well, so although she didn’t agree, she didn’t oppose it either.

”Since you’ve already come up with a plan, why did you call me here?” Ye Fei asked. He didn’t want to oppose this method. He only cared about the people around him.

As for the social atmosphere and the film market, he couldn’t be bothered.

Even this company was merely opened so that the women he loved would have something to do. So if money could solve the problem, it wasn’t an issue.

Zhuo Feng’er gave Ye Fei a sidelong glance and said with a half-smile, ”We’re going to ask for a favor, and we’re dealing with men. Do you want to let us handle it on our own?”

”I’ll go personally then!” Ye Fei quickly said. Although Zhuo Feng’er was capable enough not to suffer any losses, he couldn’t accept his women humbling themselves to beg others. Zhuo Feng’er had thought of this, which was why she had called him.

Seeing Ye Fei’s anxious expression, the four women couldn’t help but laugh, but they all felt a sweetness in their hearts.

Zhuo Feng’er and Mu Ling were self-evident, and the two young girls had long since given their hearts to Ye Fei. One was simply naive and hadn’t realized it yet; the other was somewhat insecure and dared not express her feelings.

With the matter settled, Ye Fei didn’t want to delay and immediately took Zhuo Feng’er and Mu Ling, the two beautiful and sexy aunts, straight to the airport.

If anyone was the most suitable to go, it would be Situ Ying, as no one knew more about movies than she did. However, this time it was about negotiation, and Situ Ying, who didn’t understand human relations at all, was not the right choice. Zhuo Feng’er was.

As for why he brought along an extra Mu Ling, it was because Ye Fei’s pent-up desire from over three days was too much for Zhuo Feng’er alone to handle. If circumstances allowed, Ye Fei would have liked to bring even more people.

Although there were many flights from Wanghai to the capital, they were not readily available, and there were certain things that were inconvenient to do on commercial flights. So Ye Fei decided to use his mother’s private jet again.

After the plane took off, Ye Fei used his spiritual field to isolate the cabin from the cockpit and began his journey.

The two aunts, although it was their first time ”working together,” were already very familiar with each other, loved the same man, and had also been deprived of Ye Fei’s company for many days, so they were easily persuaded by Ye Fei.

Two hours later, the plane landed in the capital. By this time, the two mature and gorgeous aunts were so exhausted that they could hardly stand. In the end, each had to take a recovery pill to be able to follow Ye Fei to handle the matter.

After leaving the airport, the three of them wasted no time and took a taxi directly to the location of the Administration. During their flight, the company’s vice president, Cheng Hui, had already made an appointment for them through his connections.

Upon arriving, Ye Fei looked at the building, which was tens of thousands of times more luxurious than an ancient government office, and couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. However, Zhuo Feng’er and Mu Ling beside him seemed unfazed.

Not just them, but the vast majority of the country’s people were the same.

In their minds, ”being an official” and ”being rich” had become synonymous. It was taken for granted that being an official meant having money.
