Chapter 1244 - Staying Back

ʼDing,

Emergency mission:- Spoil the demon emperorʼs plan.

Mission details:- The golden demon emperor was planning to conquer the Zrochester province when most of the powerful cultivators entered the Ylercester province. Stay back and stop that from happening.

Danger rating:- A grade

Mission reward:- A normal worldʼs world core and smaller worldʼs world core

Soon, the emergency mission details appeared in front of Ajax.

ʼWhat?ʼ

Ajax was shocked to see that mission details and clenched his fists because the demons were trying to invade when half of the powerful cultivators from the Zrochester province were focused on the contest in the Ylercester province.

Moreover, no one would be expecting an attack from the demons. So, it would be the right time for the demon to strike and the powerful cultivators who were staying back would not even notice that they were killed.

ʼI need to stop it. Not for the humans, but for the sake of rewards.ʼ

From the stories he heard from Elder Boron, the main character would always be betrayed by the humans; instead of the other powerful races. So, other than those who are close to him, Ajax didnʼt care much about the other humans.

However, the reward for completing the mission was so good that Ajax could not resist it.

ʼGetting a smaller worldʼs world core was already a good reward but it was giving a normal worldʼs world core. So, why would I reject such a mission?ʼ

Ajax was only doing this mission for the sake of reward as he muttered, ʼBut, the system seems like it wants to protect the humans.ʼ

ʼAnyway, I have the ability to pass through the barriers. So, I can just stay back and go after completing this mission before looking for the assassin sect in the Ylerecester province.ʼ

Other than participating in the contest to check the other participantʼs battle prowess, Ajax had another reason to enter the Ylercester province and it was to check how powerful the assassin sect in that province was.

ʼIf it is weak, I can just? destroy it and gather more intel about the main headquarters.ʼ

Ajax silently thought about his future plans as he continued thinking, ʼAs for the assassin sect in the Ylercester province, there is no need for such an evil organization to exist in this world.ʼ

He was not doing it for the human race; instead, he was very angry regarding the assassin sectʼs massacre in the Silver orphanage, he just wanted to destroy everything related to that sect.

As Ajax was thinking about the mission and the revenge, others were getting excited and rushed into the Ylercester province.

”Everyone, enter. We will be waiting for the good news.”

The guild leader urged the young geniuses to enter the Ylercester province as though he was not entering with them.

Thatʼs right!

From the earlier conversation, Ajax found out that only two of the vagrant cultivators along with the Nameless cultivator, Edmond and Udo were entering the Ylercester province to accompany the young geniuses.

Of course, Darbaudr was going for another reason.

”Yes, guild master.”

”Yes, master.”

All the youngsters walked into the Ylerecester province with great excitement.

Princess Daphne, Keshe and a few other re-cultivated spirit beasts along with some powerful guardians from Geronʼs territory entered the Ylercester province.

”Young master, is something the matter?”

Seeing that Ajax was not entering, the barbarian asked Ajax with a confused look on his face.

ʼDarbaudr, you go on. I have something to take care of in the Zrochester province.ʼ

Since Ajax had an emergency mission to take care of, he decided to stay back and asked the barbarian to enter the Ylercester province without him.

ʼWhat?ʼ

Darbaudr was shocked for a moment when he heard Ajaxʼs words in his head; however, he didnʼt say anything as he looked at Ajax for a moment before nodding his head.

Darbaudr knew that Ajax must be having something important to take; otherwise, he would have not said those words.

Nevertheless, even though he didnʼt know how strong Ajax had become, he was sure about one thing and that was nothing would happen to Ajax.

So, he nodded his head and said, ”I will be waiting for you, young master.”

After saying that, Darbaudr entered the Ylercester province because he really wanted to go back to the province he had been born in and see what happened to his place after they were massacred by the demon army.

…

”Ajax, why are you not going in?”

”Hurry up and enter it before the barrier comes back.”

..

..

The vagrant cultivators who were left behind to guard the Zrochester province urged Ajax to enter the Ylercester province because as long as Ajax participated, their province would get good recognition from all over the world.

ʼElders, we have something important to do.ʼ

However, Ajax didnʼt go in; instead, he transmitted his voice to the four vagrant cultivators and Nameless cultivator.

ʼWhat?ʼ

Looking at the serious look on Ajaxʼs face, the vagrant cultivators felt that there was something serious. So, they asked Ajax through the voice transmission.

ʼMy master informed me that the demons are going to invade this province after half of the powerful experts goes to the Ylerecester province.ʼ

Ajax didnʼt keep them in suspense for long as he spilt everything that he learned from the system and instead of saying about the system, he used his masterʼs name.

ʼWhat? Demon invasion?ʼ

ʼAre you sure about it?ʼ

ʼProtector Olek would personally protect the province when there is a lack of human strength.ʼ

The vagrant cultivators felt it was a little unbelievable; however since the source of the information was Ajaxʼs master who had unknown strength, they fell into the dilemma.

ʼThe invasion might start at any moment and I will try my best in protecting this province as my master promised me some good rewards. So, I will be leaving now to prepare for the upcoming demon battle.ʼ

As soon as Ajax said those words, he didnʼt stay there any longer as he rushed into the inner section of the cursed wilderness.
