Chapter 204: Rumors ( 1 )

When Fu Chen’an walked into the kitchen, the corner of his lips twitched when he saw the meat cut by his wife. Looking at her clumsy movements, he quickly took the knife away from her and said, ”Wife, let me do it.”

Yao Zhi stood beside her husband and watched him slice the pork thinly. Seeing this, she couldn’t help but praise him. ”Husband, your knife skills are so good!”

”I have practiced martial arts since I was 3 years old. It’s normal for me to have good control over a knife,” Fu Chen’an replied with a smile.

”Husband, do you want to learn cooking?” Yao Zhi suddenly asked. For her, everyone who has good knife skills must be talented in cooking.

Hearing his wife’s suggestion, Fu Chen’an refused immediately. ”Wife, it’s not that I don’t want to learn. But I really have no talent in cooking.”

”When I first joined the army, I was appointed to the kitchen to help the military chef. But in just 3 days, I almost burned down the camp because the chef taught me how to cook.”

”Because I didn’t cause any casualties, I was pardoned from the death penalty. But because I burned down the entire kitchen, I was punished with 100 whips.”

The moment Yao Zhi heard this, she was shocked. She didn’t expect her husband to be someone who could burn down a kitchen just by cooking.

Just thinking about the disaster he might have caused, she changed her mind and said, ”In one family, it’s enough for 1 person to know how to cook. Husband, you don’t have to learn.”

Looking at his wife’s terrified eyes, Fu Chen’an laughed and nodded. ”My wife will be responsible for cooking, and I will be responsible for cleaning and washing the dishes.”

Yao Zhi didn’t hate cooking, but she did hate cleaning up the kitchen and washing the dishes. So, she was delighted with this arrangement. ”Okay!”

After they prepared the ingredients, she let her husband bring them to the room.

When she was alone, Yao Zhi opened the system’s shop and bought a box of glass noodles. One box contained a total of 50 packs. Each pack weighed 250 grams and cost her 20 points.

She took out 3 packs and stored the rest in her system’s storage. She opened the packaging and put the glass noodles on a bamboo plate. She put the packaging into the recycling storage before taking out a jar of millet-wheat-longan wine from her system’s storage.

A few minutes later, Fu Chen’an walked in and asked, ”Wife, is there anything else that needs to be brought?”

Yao Zhi nodded and said, ”Husband, help me carry the wine jar and the noodles.”

Hearing this, he nodded and took the items prepared by his wife, while Yao Zhi got the utensils, wine ladle, and 2 wine cups.

In their room, while they waited for the broth to boil, Yao Zhi poured 2 cups of wine and handed one to her husband. ”Husband, this is wine made of millet, wheat, and fruit. Try it and see if it suits your taste.”

Fu Chen’an accepted the cup and took a sniff. The wine was fragrant, and the color was good. He took a sip and savored the taste. Although the alcohol was not as strong as the wine rewarded by the General before, the taste of this wine was more flavorful and long-lasting.

After he finished the entire cup, he nodded and said, ”Wife, this wine is delicious. It’s good wine.”

Yao Zhi smiled and said, ”I brewed a lot of this type of wine and buried it in the backyard. If you want to drink it, I will dig out more for you.”

When he heard this, Fu Chen’an nodded and said, ”Thank you, wife!”

The two of them shared a delightful dinner. Fu Chen’an was like a curious boy during the meal. Whenever he tasted something new, he would ask questions and praise his wife.

Despite drinking the entire jar of wine, when they finished their meal, he was still sober. He cleaned up the table, washed the dishes, and prepared hot water for his wife.

Yao Zhi was drunk after drinking 2 cups of wine and didn’t want to move. So, Fu Chen’an could only help her wipe her body and change into her pajamas.

When he was done, his body was drenched in sweat. Feeling hot, he stood beside the well and took a cold bath in the middle of the night.

After cooling his body down, he finally dared to lie beside his wife. To prevent her from getting restless, he pulled her into his arms and hugged her to sleep.

Early the next morning, Fu Chen’an woke up before dawn. When he turned his head, he saw his wife sleeping soundly with her head leaning on his arm.

Perhaps she was tired. Even after he moved her, she didn’t wake up at all. When he pulled the blanket to cover his wife, he heard a soft snoring sound coming from her and noticed a suspicious wet mark on his chest.

Seeing this, he strangely didn’t feel disgusted at all. Instead, he found his wife looked adorable when sleeping. Leaning down, he kissed her lightly before he went out for morning training.

When Yao Zhi woke up, the sky had brightened. Seeing this, she was startled and quickly tidied herself up before going to the kitchen. The moment she walked out of the room, she saw her husband’s back muscles.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

She almost thought it was the sound of her heartbeat. Fortunately, it was the sound of her husband chopping firewood.

Seeing her wake up, Fu Chen’an smiled and said, ”Wife, you are awake. There is hot water on the stove.”

Yao Zhi regained her composure and took several glances at her husband’s taut muscles before she went to the kitchen. Since her husband was at home, she didn’t dare to use her spiritual spring water too blatantly.
