Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 35. Please Become Our Neighbor (3)

“There has to be a limit, even if you have nothing to lose. This is completely different from the initial plan, isn’t it?”

“Hy… Big brother?”

Tutan cautiously spoke to Patrick, who looked unusually angry at a glance.

And Patrick said to Tutan.

“Retreat right now.”

“But Big brother. We are in the middle of a battle.”

“I know you’re in the middle of a battle. Just retreat for now!”

There was no time to persuade him one by one.

Patrick spoke, exuding a terrifying killing intent to intimidate Tutan.

At that moment, Tutan flinched.

It is the belief and fighting instinct of the Orcs to fight to the end without retreating during battle.

But the moment he faced Patrick’s killing intent pouring towards him, he almost retreated without realizing it.

The desire to turn his back and run away without looking back welled up inside him.

Tutan, who desperately suppressed that feeling, said.

“I cannot retreat and leave the chieftain behind.”

It was a great feat just to overcome Patrick’s intimidation and present this compromise.

And Patrick found Turanta, who was already surrounded by numerous Ogres and fighting a bloody battle.

“That old man, really…. Alright, I get it. I get it.”

Patrick immediately threw himself towards Turanta.

And then….

‘I’ll end this in one go.’

It would put a strain on his not-yet-fully-grown skeleton, but he had no choice.

The two Dantians located in Patrick’s abdomen fiercely spewed out energy, flowing through the blood vessels of his entire body.

And then….

Twin Dragons Eight Sword Forms

Fourth Form

Twin Dragons Wild Dance

At that moment, the pair of twin swords held by Patrick drew lines in the air.

The lines started as two, became four, then eight, then sixteen, and continued to multiply, until finally, the entire area within reach of Patrick’s sword Qi was filled with lines.

-Kwooooorng.

-Kahaaaang!

The Ogres touched by the lines screamed and groaned in pain.

Five Ogres died on the spot amidst the agony of their limbs being severed and their bodies being split apart.

Crack.

“Damn it…. It’s tougher than I thought.”

Patrick forcibly realigned his dislocated shoulder and elbow joints.

In fact, the technique hadn’t even unfolded satisfactorily, yet it had already strained his body.

Normally, a proper Twin Dragons Wild Dance should be able to unleash over 216 strikes in a single breath.

In his prime as the Radiant Dragon Great Master Jin Cheon, he could effortlessly unleash over 1,000 strikes in a single breath.

But now, even with just over 100 strikes, his body was strained.

However, this was enough to succeed in saving Turanta, who was surrounded by Ogres.

“Chieftain old man, didn’t I clearly tell you to fall back as soon as we started?”

“Hmm, a mistake. I was too focused on fighting….”

“Ah, seriously, give the order now. To retreat!”

“Do we have to? We can still figh—.”

“Do you want to die? Or do you want to retreat?”

Patrick exerted pressure with an aura that suggested he would chop off his head if he said another word.

At that, Turanta shouted as if he had no choice.

“Retreat! All units, retreat!”

And when the chieftain’s order was given, the Orcs of the Red Rock Tribe also retreated for the time being.

Watching them retreat, Patrick let out a sigh of relief.

‘It’s a relief they at least listen to the chieftain.’

* * *

-Krrrrr….

Krrrruung!

The King Ogre, seeing the Orcs of the Red Rock Tribe retreat, shouted in a loud voice.

Do not let them escape.

Catch and kill them all.

At the king’s command, filled with resolute will, the Ogres all chased after the fleeing Orcs.

-Krrrruung!

-Kwooooooo!

Predators chasing their prey become focused only on that.

They run forward with only the thought of catching that prey, tearing its flesh, pulling out its entrails, drinking its blood, and chewing its meat.

And the race that specializes in luring such predators into traps is none other than humans.

“Aim!”

At Sanson’s command, the human soldiers drew their arrows.

However, these were not just ordinary arrows.

A cloth soaked in oil was wrapped around every arrowhead, and it was set on fire.

And then….

“Fire!”

With Sanson’s command, the flaming arrows cut through the air and flew.

The flying flaming arrows struck the Orc tribe’s tents and various odds and ends that the Orcs had left behind upon their retreat.

And then….

Fwoooosh!

The flames from the arrows that fell on the tents spread with surprising speed.

“It worked. It’s a success.”

“It was worth soaking all the tents in oil.”

“Burn, burn brightly!”

The soldiers cheered loudly at the success of their plan.

Thanks to having soaked the settlement’s tents and the firewood prepared for fuel in oil, the flames spread with astonishing speed.

And the Ogres, suddenly enveloped in flames, panicked and scurried about in confusion.

The thick hide of an Ogre doesn’t easily catch fire from ordinary flames, but it was a creature’s instinct to panic when flames erupted from all sides.

And not missing that opportunity, Patrick shouted.

“Now! All troops, turn back!”

“Big brother!”

“What now?”

“What is ‘turn back’?”

At Tutan’s question, Patrick momentarily squeezed his eyes shut.

These ignorant bastards.

Right.

What can I expect from you guys?

“Fight again!”

At Patrick’s words, the Orcs charged towards the Ogres as if they had been waiting.

“Uwooooooooh!”

“Let’s goooo!”

What does it matter if they’re a bit slow-witted?

As long as they fight well, that’s enough.

-Krrrrrrrr….

Krrrung!

The Ogres, panicked by the flames, could no longer display their numerical advantage as before.

The Ogres engulfed in flames within the settlement were busy trying to beat out the flames on them, and a few Ogres escaped the flames to the outside, but what awaited them were enraged Orcs.

“Kill them!”

“Uwooooooh!”

The Orcs, unlike before, steadily maintained a semi-circular encirclement formation and picked off the Ogres.

Since only a few Ogres, flustered by the fire, had come out, they were able to deal with them in their familiar manner.

Turanta, watching the scene, couldn’t help but nod his head.

“Amazing. Is this the result of what humans call a strategy?”

Turanta was impressed.

In fact, this was a simple strategy that could barely be called a strategy.

Before the Ogres attack, prepare firewood and other flammable materials in the Orc settlement, soak them in oil, and prepare for a fire attack.

And when the battle starts, pretend to fight a little, then fall back, and after that, shoot flaming arrows at the Ogres.

It was a simple strategy created without much thought because the opponent was a simple-minded monster.

But the problem was that even that simple strategy did not align with the Orcs’ nature.

[We are a race of warriors. We do not need such petty tricks in battle.]

[That may be true for you old men. But I’m human, so it’s okay for me to do it, right?]

[Uh….]

With the thought ‘Is that so?’, he ended up allowing Patrick’s plan.

He didn’t like the idea of burning down the entire settlement, but he had no choice but to be convinced by Patrick’s words that the settlement would be useless if everyone died anyway.

However, even after planning the strategy, the Orcs’ fighting spirit had boiled over at the beginning of the battle, and they had forgotten all about the strategy and immersed themselves in combat.

But looking at the results now, the effectiveness of the humans’ strategy was certainly overwhelming.

It had turned the unfavorable tide of battle in one fell swoop.

“Warriors! Defeat the enemy!”

“Uwooooooooh!”

Turanta once again stood at the forefront, encouraging his kin and jumping into battle.

Following the fire attack, the numbers of the Ogres decreased one by one due to the fierce performance of the Orc warriors.

Just then….

-KWOOOOOOOOOOOR!

At the thunderous roar, everyone flinched for a moment.

The Orcs, the Ogres, and even the humans aiming their arrows from a distance all flinched.

There were even some who, just from hearing the roar, lost the strength in their legs and collapsed to the ground.

“Th… That’s….”

“The King Ogre.”

It was recognizable at a glance even from a distance.

A much larger physique than a normal Ogre and red-colored hide.

The giant club held in its hand looked thicker than a temple pillar.

The King Ogre, enraged by the deaths of its subordinates, had stepped forward.

Thump!

Thump!

Thump!

The King Ogre approached the Orcs, nonchalantly stepping on the burning tents of the Orc tribe.

It is a creature’s instinct to be wary of and fear fire, but it seemed that even that was not a threat to the King Ogre now.

“It’s coming! Everyone, get ready!”

Turanta commanded as he watched the approaching King Ogre.

Right.

That was the problem from the beginning.

If it were just dozens of Ogres, it might have been worth a fight even at the cost of annihilation, but the reason they had to admit there was no chance of winning this battle was because of that monster.

Even he, the strongest warrior in the tribe, was nothing more than a piece of prey before that King Ogre.

But what of it?

‘I will fight.’

When the battle began, he had to be at the very front.

That was his duty as the chieftain.

“Everyone, follow m—.”

“That’s enough, stay back.”

Just as Turanta was about to charge forward.

Patrick, with a physique less than half of Turanta’s, blocked his path and spoke.

And Turanta said.

“Patrick, you cannot do it alone.”

“Enough, move aside. You’re in the way.”

And Patrick pushed Turanta aside and walked forward.

Patrick’s steps, walking forward with a sword dangling from each hand, were slow and light compared to the King Ogre’s, but strangely, no one could take their eyes off him.

“Young Master….”

“Is he going to do it? Against that monster?”

“No matter how strong the Young Master is….”

The soldiers, watching the scene from afar, squeezed their eyes shut in anxiety.

They knew that Patrick was monstrously strong.

They knew, but even so, wasn’t this monster one that even Patrick couldn’t easily guarantee victory against this time?

Among the anxious soldiers, Sanson spoke.

“Everyone, believe.”

“……”

“And watch. Watch the Young Master achieve victory.”

There was no detailed explanation as to why he would win or anything like that.

But the moment Sanson said this, the soldiers thought.

Yes.

If it’s the Young Master, he can win.

He will surely win.

In this battle, they had already faithfully executed the plan Patrick had instructed.

All that was left was to believe that their lord would be victorious and wait.

-Krrrrrrr….

The King Ogre also saw Patrick.

A small and young human, so small that if he grabbed and squeezed it with one hand, not even a trace would remain.

Such a human was approaching him, holding small iron sticks in both hands that were only fit to be used as toothpicks.

Small.

Small is weak.

Such a weak being dared to show hostility in front of him.

The Ogre, its kingly pride wounded, expressed its displeasure with a loud roar.

-KHHHUUUUUUNG!

Patrick didn’t even bat an eye at the King Ogre’s roar.

However, while there was no sign of intimidation, there was also none of his usual taunting or swagger.

He was simply concentrating, looking at the giant magical beast before him.

“It really is a monster.”

Patrick acknowledged it too.

After coming to this world, he had seen Brian, who could only be described as a small fry, and later, even when he faced the supposedly famous mercenaries in the Thieves’ Guild dispute, none were up to his standards.

They were weaklings he could have killed with a single finger in his days as the Radiant Dragon Great Master, and they were not much of a threat even to his current young self.

But that King Ogre.

That was different.

He had expected it to some extent, but seeing it in person, the King Ogre’s strength far exceeded Patrick’s expectations.

“It’s been a while.”

Patrick licked his lips and took a stance with the swords held in both hands.

“Fighting with my life on the line, that is.”

-Krrrrrrrr….

Patrick, with a smile on his face, beckoned with his finger and said.

“What are you doing?”

-Krrrr….

“Come at me, you bastard.”
