Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 13. Hehehe. Yes, you look expensive at a glance (3)

Patrick spoke to his father with a serious expression.

“Father, even if there were no monster attacks, the problems tormenting the residents of our fiefdom are not just one or two.”

“Well, there may be problems, but they aren’t that serious, are they?”

“The residents have to risk their lives every winter due to a lack of food.”

“Umm, that’s….”

“There is also a great lack of daily necessities, so the quality of life is low.”

“Ah, that is true. But.”

“The soldiers’ weapons are old and dangerous to use in real combat, and there are no doctors or priests to treat people when they get sick.”

“…….”

At Patrick’s scathing criticism, Baron Schneider could not refute a single word.

Because it was all true.

‘Haa, I have nothing to say.’

As if Baron Schneider didn’t know that his fiefdom was underdeveloped and the lives of its residents were difficult.

But most of the nobles in this region are like that.

The great forest located in the east is a backwater that rejects humanity and is a paradise for monsters.

It was common sense that a fiefdom adjacent to it could not enjoy the same standard of living as other places.

“Do you know what is needed to solve all of that?”

“Are you saying it’s money?”

“Yes. Most of the problems I just mentioned are things that can be solved with money.”

“…….”

Patrick’s words were an undeniable fact.

Baron Schneider was a pushover in character, but he was not so foolish as to be unaware of reality.

How could he not know about the various problems scattered throughout the fiefdom?

And he also knew that most of those problems could be solved if the budget were plentiful.

He knew, but….

“Even so, are you saying you have to earn money by dangerously hunting monsters? You are the heir to this fiefdom.”

A father’s heart, worried about his son.

Hmm, it’s good. It’s really good. It’s good, but….

‘To put it bluntly, you’re just an obstacle right now.’

Patrick sighed and then spoke to his father.

“Father, do you see that?”

What Patrick pointed to was the Saber Tiger’s hide.

Looking at the hide of the large magical beast, which was cleanly beaten to death without a single knife mark, Patrick said.

“I caught that by myself.”

“Umm….”

“How many more dangerous creatures than that could there be around our fiefdom?”

“…….”

“Rest assured. Your son is strong, Father.”

“Huuuu, but you are too young.”

Seeing his father, who could not be reassured even when persuaded with logic, Jin Cheon smiled bitterly.

Wouldn’t a normal person, if their son brought in such a huge amount of money, say, ‘Yes, work hard,’ and cheer them on?

But still, in Baron Schneider’s eyes, there was worry and concern for his son.

It’s frustrating. It’s really frustrating.

But….

‘He’s just like Master.’

As if they weren’t the same pushover, their actions were quite similar.

During the days when Jin Cheon was making a name for himself as a master fighter.

The days when he indiscriminately issued duel challenges to the Nine Sects One Gang and the Five Great Clans here and there to make the name of the Twin Dragon Sect known.

[You rascal. Who told you to recklessly duel with an elder of the Mount Hua Sect?]

[You’re challenging the Sect Leader of the Wudang Sect? Withdraw it now. Cancel it.]

[You’re challenging the One Hundred and Eight Arhats Formation of Shaolin? Have you finally gone mad? Have you finally lost your mind!]

Master had worriedly scolded and stopped Jin Cheon with a look of utter anguish.

Every time Jin Cheon achieved victory, the reputation of the Twin Dragon Sect soared to the heavens and shook the martial world, but Master valued his disciple’s safety more than such things.

Persuading such a Master to get his permission was actually more difficult than the duels themselves.

‘Still, I know how to persuade people like this.’

Jin Cheon spoke to his father in a gentle voice.

“Father, you said it, didn’t you? That… what was it? Noblesse Hommage?”

“It’s Noblesse Oblige.”

“Ah, right. That. You said nobles have a noble’s duty, right?”

“Umm….”

“Isn’t a true noble one who does their best to protect the safety of the fiefdom’s residents and stabilize their lives?”

“That’s….”

“Isn’t that what you taught me? With your own mouth, Father.”

“…….”

That annoying fellow.

He couldn’t say anything because he was being challenged with his own words.

At that moment, a white, soft hand grabbed Baron Schneider’s wrist.

“Darling, for now, please respect our son’s wishes.”

“Dear, you too….”

“You taught him that way, didn’t you? Are you now going to say that was just an ideal?”

“…….”

“The man I fell in love with isn’t that kind of man, is he?”

With his beloved wife joining his son’s side, the Baron could no longer object.

“I will speak to Lawrence. If there is anything you need, just say the word.”

“You’re entrusting it to me?”

“Yes. But you must never overdo it.”

“Yes. I understand, Father.”

Patrick succeeded in persuading his father.

‘Now that I’ve officially gotten permission, shall I make a grander move?’

From the next day, Patrick began hunting monsters in earnest.

He wiped out any goblin settlements or kobold packs he found around the fiefdom.

On top of that, if he found large-type monsters that were worth money, like trolls, owlbears, or wild boars….

“Hand over everything that’s worth money!”

He would charge at them with bloodshot eyes.

As Patrick began to hunt monsters like a madman, something amazing happened.

The monster attacks decreased to a level that the residents of the fiefdom could feel.

“The monster attacks have greatly decreased recently.”

“I know, right? Before, monsters would come and cause a ruckus at least once or twice a week.”

“This month, it only happened once, right?”

“This is all thanks to the Young Master.”

“He is an amazing person. To enter the forest teeming with monsters every day for our sake at such a young age….”

“He is a true noble.”

The reason Patrick went into the forest every day to find and hunt monsters was to find ones that were worth money.

But as a result, the residents of the fiefdom were greatly moved.

Because the monster attacks, the biggest threat to the Schneider fiefdom, had decreased significantly.

No matter how much of a genius he was, how could they not be moved when the young Patrick, who was still a child, went into the forest every day to catch monsters and look after their safety?

Among the residents of the fiefdom, Patrick’s popularity greatly increased.

And it wasn’t just the residents who started to see Patrick in a new light.

“Uwaaaaaat!”

“Die! Young Master!”

“Beat him to a puuulp!”

The eyes of the soldiers being trained by Patrick also changed significantly.

Practical training with Patrick, which followed after enduring four hours of the Horse Stance with a rock the size of their torso on their heads.

In fact, until recently, the results of this training were an increase in the soldiers’ durability and stress relief for Patrick.

But a while ago, the soldiers’ attitudes changed.

Their attacks still couldn’t touch a single hair on Patrick’s head, but now there was a viciousness in their eyes as they tried to cling to him tenaciously.

‘Their gaze has become sliiiightly useful.’

The soldiers’ attitude towards training was so enthusiastic that Patrick had such thoughts.

The reason for this change in the soldiers’ attitude was because they had recently learned of Patrick’s actions.

The Young Master, whom they had thought was just a devil with a rotten personality, was wicked, and felt pleasure in tormenting people, was actually dealing with the monsters around the fiefdom without their knowledge.

And he was doing it alone.

Brian was with him, but he was cleanly ignored.

When they learned this fact, the soldiers’ expressions were a mix of deep emotion and shock.

Their lord, Baron Schneider, was a kind and excellent lord, but he was not the type of noble who bravely defeated enemies and raised the morale of the soldiers at the forefront.

In comparison, his son Patrick?

He was only ten years old, yet he was already at the forefront, fighting and shedding blood in dangerous places.

Well, he didn’t shed a single drop of his own blood, but let’s just let that slide.

Anyway, to the soldiers, Patrick was the most ideal form of a noble.

The heroic noble from the old tales, who was brave and strong and stood at the front to fight.

In the midst of that, Sanson gathered the soldiers and said.

“As you all know…. right now, the Young Master is dealing with the monsters around the fiefdom in our stead.”

“We know, Big brother.”

“As expected of the Young Master….”

“I knew he was strong, but wow.”

Seeing his admiring comrades, Sanson nodded and said.

“We all know that the Young Master is monstrously strong. But I am ashamed.”

“Of what?”

“Why do you think the Young Master is subjugating the monsters alone?”

“That’s because….”

The soldier who was speaking trailed off.

And Sanson nodded as if to say, ‘See?’ and said.

“Because we are weak.”

“…….”

“Because we are not a viable force, he is not taking us with him and is fighting with only that Brian fellow. Because we are weak!”

At Sanson’s firm words, the soldiers squeezed their eyes shut.

In their awe of Patrick’s heroic deeds, they had failed to think.

About this miserable reality that they, who should be by the hero’s side, were not with him.

Sanson said firmly.

“I know the training the Young Master gives us is hard. But let’s all risk our lives and follow him. We must become stronger.”

“Yes, sir!”

Thus, the soldiers’ attitude towards training completely changed.

The zeal to follow Patrick and the anger of not being able to forgive their own weakness.

And….

“Uwooooh!”

“Just get hit! You devil!”

“Kill him! Kill himmmm!”

Well, let’s just interpret it as their fighting spirit has improved.

“Foolish things….”

Patrick said, looking at the soldiers who were charging at him with burning fighting spirit.

“If you could close the skill gap with fighting spirit or tenacity, what would be the need for skill?”

And at the same time, Patrick’s body disappeared.

Simultaneously….

Tadadadadadak!

“Kuaaaak!”

“Aak!”

“Keoheok….”

They couldn’t even see when or how he hit them.

By the time Patrick, whose body had disappeared, reappeared, a dozen or so soldiers were already beaten all over their bodies, groaning on the ground.

It was truly like a flash of lightning.

“Keeeung….”

“Ugh… ughhhh….”

“Aigo, people are dying. Dying….”

When all the soldiers had fallen, Patrick said with a refreshed expression.

“Alright, that’s it for morning training. Now, work hard on your duties until the afternoon.”

And as Patrick was about to leave to catch monsters, one soldier stepped forward and said.

“Y-…. Young Master. Just a moment.”

“You are…. Soldier A.”

“It’s Oliver.”

“Right. Speak, A.”

“…….”

Oliver made a face as if he had chewed on something for a moment, but he soon managed his expression and said.

“Young Master. This is absolutely not a complaint about your training, but a pure question to resolve the doubts we have at our current stage.”

“Don’t beat around the bush and just say it.”

“You are too fast, Young Master, so we can’t do anything.”

“Well, that’s a given. That’s just how it is.”

“…….”

Even in his past life, there was no human faster than Patrick.

“End of discussion? Then I’m leaving.”

“W-wait, Young Master.”

“Ah, what now?”

Patrick spoke bluntly to Oliver, who was clinging to him again.

Then Oliver said….
