Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 19. I’m younger. (1)

What Patrick had ordered Chandler to do was to find a way to make contact with a competent information organization.

Even in his past life, the reason the kids from the Nine Sects and the Five Great Clans could rule the martial world was because the Beggar’s Gang collected all sorts of information from all over the world for them.

‘That was really convenient. All you had to do was go to the Beggar’s Gang kids and ask them to find something out or find someone, and they would do everything for you. I was so envious.’

Although the Twin Dragon Sect was also part of the righteous faction, the Beggar’s Gang did not actively cooperate with them.

While they listened to the words of the Nine Sects or the Five Great Clans as if they were gospel, the information requests made in the name of the Twin Dragon Sect were pushed to the bottom of the list after they took the money.

On top of that….

[Ah, that matter? We are still investigating. Please wait a little longer.]

They would even say things like that.

Of course, the Radiant Dragon Great Master Jin Cheon, who couldn’t stand by and watch that happen, personally went out, grabbed the Beggar’s Gang’s leader by the collar, shook him down, and messed him up, and as a result, he did manage to get their cooperation.

‘In any case, I need information.’

On top of that, the Schneider fiefdom was a fiefdom located on the border, no different from an isolated backwater.

It would be troublesome if there was no one to deliver proper information.

So, Patrick decided to take this opportunity, having come to a big city, to make contact with an information organization and establish a connection.

“A thieves’ guild. Is it any good?”

“Yes. They are very competent in handling information.”

“A bunch of thieves?”

“It’s called a thieves’ guild, but in fact, the laborers who work in the lower classes of society and the barmaids are also under the management of the thieves’ guild.”

“It’s the Rogues’ Guild.”

“Yes?”

“There’s something like that. Anyway, their information network is reliable, right?”

“Yes. That’s right.”

“Well, good. I’ll know the details when I meet them in person.”

“Will you go right now?”

“There’s no reason to hesitate.”

* * *

Late at night.

Patrick went out of the inn, accompanied only by Chandler.

The place the two of them arrived at was a shabby tavern in a dark back alley.

“Is this it?”

“Yes. It may seem suspicious, but this is the right place.”

“No, it’s not suspicious. These kinds of guys are always in places like this.”

“…….”

“Now, if we go inside and order some strange menu with a set password, they’ll recognize us as customers and respond, something like that?”

“How did you know?”

To Chandler, who asked back in surprise, Patrick sighed and said.

“It’s really the same wherever people live.”

“Yes?”

“Never mind, let’s go in.”

Patrick opened the door himself and went inside the tavern.

Inside, men with rough-looking faces were sitting at old tables, drinking.

The young ladies who looked like the inn’s staff were serving them drinks, and the person who looked like the bar’s master was wiping a glass with a calm expression.

‘Oh, the atmosphere is quite plausible. According to the textbook, is this where a bald guy with bulging muscles picks a fight, saying, ‘What’s a kid doing in a tavern’?’

“What? Who brought a kid into a tavern?”

A bald man with bulging muscles frowned at Patrick and said.

Then Patrick sighed and said.

“Isn’t this too textbook?”

“Huh?”

Passing the bewildered bald man, Patrick sighed and said.

“Never mind. Chandler.”

“Yes? Yes, Young Master.”

“Just order.”

“Yes. I understand.”

Unlike Patrick, who was fed up with the overly common textbook scenario, Chandler seemed a little scared, but he still tried to order as Patrick had told him to.

But before that….

“What? Are you ignoring me now?”

The bald man with muscles blocked Patrick and Chandler’s way again.

Patrick stared at the bald man and then said.

“Hey. Baldy.”

“This little brat….”

“You’ve probably been hit a lot for doing this, haven’t you?”

For a moment, the bald man flinched.

And Patrick looked at the bald man with an ‘I knew it’ expression and said.

“It’s obvious that your role is to pick a fight whenever a stranger comes. You’re the one who serves as a measure to gauge the other person’s skill and personality, right? Am I wrong?”

“Wh-… what….”

“And if you’re unlucky and meet a master, your role is to get hit once, fly away, and get crumpled in a corner. That’s happened a lot, right? Right?”

“…….”

For a moment, an indescribable pathos flowed from the bald man’s eyes.

To that bald man, Patrick said as if he understood.

“Yeah. You’re not doing this because you want to, are you? You’re just doing it because you’re told.”

“Keeuk….”

“It’s dirty and cheap, but what can you do? That’s how hard it is to make a living.”

“Sob, Young Master….”

“But good days will come if you live on, so cheer up. Don’t cry.”

“Yes. Thank you, Young Master.”

“Right. Go on. Keep up the good work.”

“Yes.”

After comforting one muscular bald man who was getting tired of his role as a small fry and feeling regretful about his life, Patrick sat down in front of the tavern’s master.

And when he gave a look to Chandler, Chandler cleared his throat and said.

“Uh…. well, give me a drink that suits a black rose.”

“…….”

The master said nothing.

Usually, when you say this, there should be a corresponding response, but right now, he was just looking at Chandler and Patrick with a dumbfounded expression.

No, to be precise, he was looking at Patrick.

“What? No reaction? Is the password wrong?”

“No, sir. I was definitely told this was it. I even confirmed it.”

“Then why is this happening?”

“I’m not sure either….”

At that moment, the master spoke.

“What the hell kind of kid are you?”

“Me? I’m a person who came to do business with the thieves’ guild. Isn’t this the thieves’ guild?”

“If you ask so openly, do you think anyone will tell you this is the thieves’ guild?”

“Yeah. I think they will.”

“…….”

“Am I wrong?”

“Right. It is, it is.”

In fact, it wasn’t something to hide so extremely.

The fact that this tavern was one of the contact points for the thieves’ guild was something that almost all the natives of Parmas knew.

‘It’s a well-known fact, so Chandler was probably able to find it out in just a few days.’

What great secret could information that an outsider could find out in just a few days be?

The existence and location of this contact point was a so-called open secret that everyone who needed to know knew.

Patrick also knew that, which was why he was acting like this.

“I have some business to entrust to you, so I need to meet your boss.”

At Patrick’s words, the master frowned and said.

“Insolent.”

“Haaaah….”

“The guild master is not someone that brats like you can meet just because you want to.”

“Aigooo….”

“It seems you’re a couple of brats who don’t know the ways of the world….”

Snap!

As the master snapped his fingers, the rough-looking men who seemed to be customers in the tavern slowly stood up, exuding an intimidating aura.

And the master spoke again.

“Here….”

“Nobles and what not don’t matter. Our rules are important. You were going to say something like that, right?”

“…Uh uh…. Ahem, if you quietly….”

“If you quietly go back, I’ll at least spare your lives. You should consider yourself lucky, brat. You were going to say something like that, weren’t you?”

“…….”

Looking at the speechless master, Patrick cracked his neck from side to side and said.

“The things you guys do are really the same wherever you go.”

In a way, it was even heartwarming to be able to feel the nostalgia of his hometown after a long time.

But that doesn’t change what Patrick has to do from now on.

“Well, it’s fine. I understand your situation. If a little kid suddenly comes and asks for a meeting with your boss, you’d normally say ‘no.’ Hmm, no matter how I think about it, that’s normal and common sense. Isn’t it?”

For a moment, everyone in the tavern unconsciously nodded.

Patrick smiled sweetly at them and said.

“I’ll say it again, I understand your situation. But, you see. I have my own position to consider.”

Seeing Patrick warming up by rotating his shoulders and twisting his waist from side to side, Chandler stealthily moved away.

After watching Patrick for a while, Chandler had now realized.

What that smile and that action meant.

“I hope you will also understand. That there are no hard feelings in the violence I am about to inflict upon you.”

Then, the tavern master shouted loudly.

“Madman! Boys. Teach this brat a lesso— Keok!”

The master, who was speaking, had his head slammed into the bar table.

And Patrick ground his teeth and said….

“Madman? Madmaaaan!”

And he grabbed the master’s hair, lifted him up, and said.

“You bastard. The eighteenth thing I hate is someone calling me a madman to my face. You bastard!”

Bang bang bang!

The master’s head was relentlessly slammed into the table.

As his consciousness grew dim from the repeated impacts, he thought.

‘He hates too many things.’

And after throwing the unconscious master to one side, Patrick climbed onto the bar table, picked up a liquor bottle in each hand, and stood up.

In that state, he looked at the hesitating giants and said with a sly smile.

“Right. In the end, we have to have a little brawl, don’t we?”

And Patrick beckoned with his hand and said.

“Come at me, you bastards.”

“Ugh…. Uwaaaaah!”

“Get himmm!”

A short while later.

All the big guys who had rushed at Patrick were writhing on the floor.

And Patrick, standing alone among those big guys, said with a refreshed expression.

“Kuuuh. This is it. I was starting to forget the feeling of beating people up since I’ve been mainly dealing with monsters lately.”

‘Devil bastard.’

‘Devil bastard.’

It was probably not a coincidence that all the fallen people had the same thought.

“The feeling of bashing someone’s head with a liquor bottle definitely has a different taste than slashing monsters with a sword.”

“Young Master. Is it over now?”

At that moment, Chandler, who had been skillfully staying out of the way on one side, cautiously approached.

Patrick, who was basking in the afterglow of the violence, shrugged at Chandler’s words and said.

“Uh, yeah. I guess so.”

“You are truly amazing. To have crushed the entire thieves’ guild by yourself.”

Chandler said with pure admiration.

In fact, he had never thought that Patrick would lose.

He had seen him crush a giant troll and dozens of goblins without a single scratch, so what was there to worry about?

However, what was unexpected was that he looked extremely familiar with wrecking people in a tavern like this.

As if he had done it a lot somewhere.

‘It must be my imagination. When would the Young Master, who is only ten, have ever done something like this.’

Chandler cleared his throat and said.

“Ahem, but Young Master. If you’ve wrecked them all like this, how will you make a request to the thieves’ guild?”

“Ah, don’t worry about that. First….”

Patrick looked at the female waitresses who were gathered in one corner, trembling, and said with a grin.

“Shall we have a frank conversation?”

“Yes?”

“You wait here.”

After saying that to the bewildered Chandler, Patrick went to the female waitresses and grabbed one of them by the wrist.

“Kyaak!”

The waitress with red hair and a slightly thin build was a beauty who stood out more clearly than the others around her.

Patrick grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her.

“E-… excuse me?”

“Let’s talk for a bit.”

“P-… please don’t do this.”

“There’s a room on this floor, right? We can go there.”

“Sob…. please….”

The woman was dragged by Patrick’s hand, sobbing.

At that sight, Chandler was extremely flustered.

Isn’t that the typical scene of a hooligan Young Master and a poor young lady who has been caught by him?

“Young Master? What are you trying to do?”

“Just wait.”

Leaving the bewildered Chandler behind, Patrick took the red-haired waitress and went up to a room on the second floor.

Now, who is the villain?

“Kyaaaak!”

Patrick threw the waitress onto the bed, and she collapsed onto it.

Then, wrapping her arms around herself, she said, trembling.

“P-… please don’t do this. I’m still young.”

“I’m younger.”

“…Ah….”

For a moment, an expression of ‘well, that’s true’ crossed the waitress’ face.

And Patrick snickered and said.

“Most importantly, I have no interest in men.”

“…….”

The moment she heard those words, the waitress’ expression hardened coldly.

The fear and shame that had colored her expression all disappeared, and in their place, a coldness lingered.
