Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 886: Chapter 380: Two Successful Raids (Part 2)

At this moment, the chemical plant was brightly lit, with a large number of workers bustling around, busy manufacturing something.

At a glance, Wu Chang didn’t see Cold Mountain and Sword Star, nor did he see Xavier who had previously appeared in his resentful memories.

But he did notice that the Power of Root in one of the workshops was particularly dense; without a doubt, that was the workshop for making steam explosives.

Infiltrating the chemical plant is different from infiltrating the Sloan Textile Factory; here, what’s being produced isn’t fabric, but steam explosives.

Barging in openly, if the players’ abilities aren’t enough, they may not be able to take down the Steam Council under the influence of the Steam Root Source.

If they all rush in together, their combat power would indeed be secured, but if the opponent decided to go all out and detonates all the steam explosives, according to the All-Knowing Crystal’s estimation of the explosive yield, even the Wu Chang True Self with the Titan title might not withstand it.

They must first conduct reconnaissance to understand the internal situation before making any plans.

There aren’t many players who can ignore the Steam Rules and enter the Gneral Chemical Factory, but Wu Chang happened to have one by his side.

He looked at Ma Jia and said, ”This time I need to ask for your help.”

Ma Jia shrugged and said, ”Isn’t this the reason you insisted I join back then, to deal with situations like this?”

To ensure the secrecy of Ma Jia’s abilities, Wu Chang had everyone else wait in place while he left alone with Ma Jia.

When the two left, they had already targeted a factory supervisor responsible for coordinating transportation. Taking advantage of the supervisor leaving the chemical plant to count the goods in a carriage parked at the entrance, Wu Chang quickly approached and abducted the supervisor.

Ma Jia covered the supervisor’s mouth, gesturing with a ”shh,” but the factory supervisor wasn’t prepared to cooperate and persistently let out muffled cries.

Realizing his voice couldn’t penetrate Ma Jia’s hand, he began to bite Ma Jia’s hand frantically, like a zombie, and soon managed to chew Ma Jia’s hand bloody.

Despite the factory supervisor biting his palm, Ma Jia did not dodge and instead actively cooperated, stuffing the edge of his hand entirely into the supervisor’s mouth, sealing it shut.

Without looking at his bleeding palm, he turned to Wu Chang and said,

”The scene when I use my ability can be a bit horrific to witness for the first time, I suggest you turn away and don’t look.”

In the Silent Route Plane, having already witnessed Ma Jia’s parasitic ability through the fisherman’s resentment, Wu Chang said,

”It’s fine, just do your thing.”

Ma Jia didn’t advise further, and as his ability activated, a substantial amount of viscous, semi-molten flesh surged out from the wound on his bitten hand.

This flesh filled the factory supervisor’s mouth and continually infused into his body.

The supervisor’s force in biting Ma Jia’s hand quickly decreased, changing from biting to actively gulping down.

In less than a minute, Ma Jia’s flesh from within and outside devoured the factory supervisor’s existence, turning the supervisor into a part of himself.

Confirming that Wu Chang could indeed see through his ability, Ma Jia hinted slightly after joining the Secret Magic Knight Order.

Ma Jia’s class is known as Flesh Invader; he can assimilate a target by devouring them with his blood, turning the target into an extension of his flesh.

His ability sounds strong, but it has many limitations in use and can only inherit the target’s body, not their memory.

However, once the target is invaded by him, they truly become a part of him, able to inherit some of his physical attributes, and won’t be seen through by most skills nor repelled by the Power of Root. ℯ

One of the reasons Ma Jia joined the Secret Magic Knight Order was to learn how Wu Chang could perceive his ability.

In case the Flesh Invader has an obvious weakness, he wanted time to prepare defenses and response methods.

Successfully occupying the factory supervisor’s body, Ma Jia controlled him to stand up from the ground, moved a few times on the spot to adapt to this body’s strengths and weaknesses, and then turned back to the chemical plant.

Ma Jia’s invasion involves mixing his flesh with the target’s, enabling him to inherit the target’s muscle memory, making his walking, movements, and expressions nearly identical to the original owner, leaving no flaws visible.

Besides, with the factory bustling with activity, no one had the extra attention to observe whether he was acting strangely, allowing Ma Jia to infiltrate the chemical plant with ease, make a round openly, and then follow the next batch of goods out.

He returned to Wu Chang and recounted what he saw inside the chemical plant.

Relying on the factory supervisor’s identity, Ma Jia investigated the suspicious workshop Wu Chang mentioned.

Due to severe environmental pollution around the chemical plant, the surrounding area’s precipitation is not only toxic but also quite corrosive, resulting in many corrosive patches on the workshop’s top floor with clear signs of repair.

Utilizing the physical attributes inherited from his panel, he climbed to the top floor, uncovered the repaired parts, and looked through the holes to see the situation inside the workshop.

The machinery inside the workshop differed from other workshops, and judging by the type of production line, steam explosives were indeed being produced.

Around the machinery, he did see the suspicious black-robed figures Wu Chang mentioned.

But the quantity of steam explosives piled up in the workshop wasn’t large, similar to the amount inside the modified human appearing at Saint George Plaza, and there were only two black-robed figures inside, not gathered in large numbers as Wu Chang speculated.

After leaving the steam explosive production workshop, he patrolled the entire chemical plant thoroughly and confirmed that only two black-robed figures existed throughout the plant.

Upon hearing Ma Jia’s information, Wu Chang couldn’t help but furrow his brows.
