Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 876: Chapter 377: Become a Star

In an S-Level instance, no matter who is hunting you down, as long as you escape into the slums, you can ensure safety.

If someone else said this, Sword Star would certainly scoff, as there is no concept of a safe zone in the Abyssal Game instances.

Even the Royal Palace where Queen Olivia resides, or the Saint George’s Cathedral, the headquarters of the Holy Awakening Sect, wouldn’t dare to make such a bold claim.

But when Peace said this, Sword Star somewhat believed it.

In the vicinity of the Gray Church Slums, fog rules can indeed be isolated, and if the reason for isolating the fog rules truly comes from Mrs. Sean, then what Peace said could very well be true.

What’s more important is that this isn’t the first time he’s witnessed instance natives possessing inconceivable powers, surpassing the players’ understanding.

For example, in the Silent Route Dungeon he previously entered, he encountered a terrifyingly strong hidden instance native.

A group of players followed behind that instance native, hardly exerting any effort, and easily completed the instance.

It’s not just that the instance native was strong—their mastery of the instance far surpassed ordinary players, even leading him to achieve an A- rating.

If other players’ guides hadn’t mentioned that hidden native, he would have thought someone had paid for VIP sweeping mode in the Abyssal Game.

Sword Star glanced outside the church and asked:

”Who is this Mrs. Sean exactly? Could her existence be related to some hidden side quest?”

Wu Chang shrugged and said:

”I don’t know. I only know Mrs. Sean likes helping the underprivileged. If you have time, you could volunteer here and see if you can trigger any mission.”

Sword Star noted the information and said, ”If I probe out a hidden mission, I’ll tell you how to trigger it.”

Wu Chang said, ”Much obliged.”

He was not worried about Sword Star observing Erin for too long and remembering her traits, eventually identifying Erin in another plane or reality.

Erin, like him, triggered the True Walker effect upon entering the instance, fully integrating into the plane and assuming a different face.

Later, if Sword Star sees the Eternal Light Church somewhere else, he’ll simply think the three Great Evil God Cults in Believer Circle have become four, without recognizing Erin’s identity at all.

After a brief chat, when Sword Star was ready to leave, he reminded:

”We have another piece of news, but it’s not accurate. We can only give you a heads-up.”

”The Steam Councilor who received us mentioned that they plan to take major action in a week and will notify us in advance, but whether it’s truly a week and what the major action is, remains unknown.”

Sword Star took out a wooden board, formed a sword gesture with his right hand, and carved a groove on the wood.

Wu Chang saw a faint azure glow in the groove on the wood, which was the Sword Dao Root Power left by Sword Star.

Sword Star handed the wooden board to Wu Chang and said:

”The sword qi on this board needs me to continuously inject the Root Power to remain stable.”

”If the sword qi breaks the board, it means I have actively cut off the Root Power, or Cold Mountain and I have been summoned by the Steam Council and entered a place that can isolate our Root Power. Either way, it signifies the Steam Council’s major action is imminent.”

”If you encounter problems and need us to contact you quickly, just break the sword qi I’ve left, and I’ll sense it.”

After Sword Star left, Wu Chang True Self stayed in the slums for a while longer, then, as dusk approached, returned home with Erin.

The next morning, Olivia signed the Grain Law Repeal Agreement at the Stilan Imperial Palace, announcing the complete repeal of the grain law.

Since Wu Chang set a precedent and overnight helped establish the Secret Security Department, the efficiency of the Stilan Government has skyrocketed.

Processes that originally took months or even two to three years to complete can now be condensed into two or three days. Whether this counts as workplace reform is uncertain.

Because the land aristocrats and the Queen were overly cooperative, the people’s attention wasn’t entirely drawn by the Grain Law Repeal Agreement.

With the assistance of the Bright Lamp Report, the major strike, which had just eased for two days, showed signs of reigniting.

Glad had no choice but to admit regulatory negligence with a promise to soon strengthen union power and further refine the Factory Technique.

Not only that, Glad even met with Connor, willing to collaborate with these worker leaders to formulate appropriate legislation.

Glad’s actions temporarily quelled the major strike in Grimland, but his concessions to the workers provoked dissatisfaction among many within the Liberal Party.

From Prime Minister Ron’s iron-fisted suppression to a sudden weak concession to the rioters, Glad earned the nickname ”Sheep Prime Minister” among many Liberal Party members.

Many Liberal Party councilors even privately expressed at gatherings that they’d rather face a war than make concessions with no limits.

These comments were jotted down by Bright Lamp Report reporters masked as waiters and published in the next day’s Bright Lamp Report.

Glad’s concessions not only caused his party support to plummet but also led to a decline in the overall support rate for the Liberal Party.

In the grand scheme, the Conservative Faction’s noble landowners’ strategic retreat, although losing the land law as leverage, was unlikely to have been the true defeat.

With the parties embroiled in chaos, Wu Chang didn’t divert attention but focused entirely on investigating steam explosives.

The instance’s side opposition mission was assisting the target in the Prime Minister election, but as an Abyssal Game Player, he approached the election with a player’s mindset rather than a politician’s.
