Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 869: Chapter 374: Steam Root Power 3

In the last moments of Life’s passing, he heard the agitated Soul Weaving Machine calm down, and a voice mocked:

”This group never learns their lesson. I stopped the self-destruction at Pine Tree Coal Mine, let alone this small machine.”

With the All-Knowing Crystal, stopping the Soul Weaving Machine’s self-destruction was a piece of cake for Wu Chang.

After disabling the self-destruct function of the Soul Weaving Machine, he followed the guidance of the All-Knowing Crystal to find the core component of the Soul Weaving Machine.

It was an incredibly intricate mechanical shuttle made up of countless small components.

「Item Name: Soul Spinning Shuttle」

「Item Type: Special」

「Item Skills: Precision Weaving Technique.」

「Skill Description: The Soul Spinning Shuttle records a special weaving method, maximizing the characteristics of different raw materials to produce high-quality fabrics from original raw materials.」

「Note: This component is the core of Stilan’s textile technology, a dazzling pearl on the Industrial Crown.」

「Item Skills: Soul Weaving」(Unlocked with King’s Badge)

「Skill Description: Consumes Life Force and soul, resonating with the Soul Spinning Shuttle, synchronizing with the Precision Weaving Technique, immersing in the joy of weaving. Even ordinary looms can use Precision Weaving Technique. Consuming a large amount of Life Force and soul, can weave special fabric with extraordinary effects.」

Immersed in the joy of weaving, no wonder the workers in the advanced fabric workshop looked ecstatic while working. If the supervisors did not forcibly stop them, they might exhaust themselves to death.

Wu Chang looked at the Soul Spinning Shuttle, thinking to himself this is definitely a good thing, unfortunately, it came at the wrong time.

If this thing could be brought back to reality, and open a textile club by the lighthouse, charging by the hour, it would definitely be a hit.

For those zombie-like addicts, the Life Force and soul extracted by the Soul Spinning Shuttle is too healthy, and it only weakens them, without damaging their nerves and brain.

More importantly, they can also create value through weaving, benefiting society, with all their attention focused on weaving, it can also reduce social harm, definitely a case of making the most out of waste.

Wu Chang took away the Soul Spinning Shuttle, and a line of prompt popped up in front of him.

「You obtained a pearl on the Industrial Crown.」

With the Soul Spinning Shuttle taken away, Wu Chang saw steam from the advanced fabric workshop starting to spread outwards.

His True Self staying in the West District went outdoors, looked up at the sky, and found the mist in the sky became thicker.

He could clearly sense that the Steam Phantom Plane was further influenced by the Power of Root.

As he suspected, each time an extraordinary steam machine is discovered by the players, the Root Power represented by steam further erodes the plane.

At this moment, all players in the dungeon felt their bodies becoming heavy, and the skill effects they used significantly reduced.

Wu Chang felt the changes brought by the Plane Rules; if another modified human exploded now, his barely touching the threshold of Root Power’s space distortion would be unable to break through the steam erupted from the modified human’s explosion.

At this rate, discovering four or five more extraordinary steam machines would probably fill the dungeon plane with steam rules, like the advanced fabric workshop.

By then, ordinary players, even those mastering the Power of Rules, would be unable to use extraordinary abilities outside of steam rules.

From the perspective of conquering the dungeon, players should stop searching for extraordinary steam machines now.

But the issue is, the Steam Phantom’s main quest two is to obtain at least one pearl on the Industrial Crown, meaning acquiring an extraordinary steam machine.

To complete the main quest, it has to lead to an increase in the plane’s difficulty.

Worse still, only by participating in the acquisition of extraordinary steam machines can one complete the main quest two, making this information hard to share with other players.

Just imagine, if someone tells other players, ”Don’t obtain the extraordinary steam machine, that will cause the plane to be influenced by Root Power, increasing the dungeon difficulty.”

Someone would certainly say, ”Really, I don’t believe it.”

To convince others, one can only say, ”It’s true, I already found the extraordinary steam machine, and the influence on the plane is indeed significant.”

With things progressing this far, what would players think?

A: I see, then to not increase the dungeon difficulty, I should stop indeed.

B: You completed the main quest, and don’t want others to complete it, right?

C: I see, the later you do main quest two, the greater the difficulty, I must hurry.

If it were a few years ago, option D would be obtuse, but now, option D would be ”I’m part of the Steam Council faction, so don’t trust everyone.”

Publishing the information, other players would not only likely not care but also instigate hostility towards players who have already completed main quest two.

And more importantly, Wu Chang himself didn’t plan to stop here.

If he guessed correctly, the Root Power of the Steam Phantom Plane is essentially mechanical power, as long as one uses mechanical or technological abilities, it won’t be affected by Root Power.

Like when Booker summoned a motorcycle at Saint George Plaza, it could be freely used, not failing in the steam.

Coincidentally, in Wu Chang’s personal space, there is a precious thing infused with He Yun’s love.

In a sense, he even wants the Root Power of Steam to quickly fill the dungeon plane more than the players of the Steam Council.

Wu Chang returned the Soul Spinning Shuttle to his personal space, came down from the Soul Weaving Machine, and walked towards Raventon.

Raventon looked at the Soul Weaving Machine ahead and asked, ”Is this what made those textile workers exhaust themselves to death?”

Wu Chang tossed the Soul Spinning Shuttle to Raventon and said, ”It’s this little thing.”

As he passed by two gulping bodyguards, one of the bodyguard’s corpses twitched, catching Wu Chang’s attention.

He turned to look, only to see that the bodyguard’s eyes were wide open, filled with resentment.

Suicide with eyes wide open, really unlucky.

Sigh, wait, how is there resentment appearing on him?
