Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 680: Chapter 311: Amber Is Waiting for You_3

The moment she said it, she regretted it, but Amber didn’t seem to be bothered by her words and said:

”I believe in him. He always shows up; maybe he just comes later sometimes.”

Knowing she had misspoken, Yu Siyi quickly tried to salvage the situation, ”Don’t worry, even if he doesn’t show up, I’ll bring him to you.”

The road to the target destination was long, but the power borrowed from the orange line made Yu Siyi less weary on the journey.

The two chatted as they walked, time flew by, and they unknowingly arrived at the place guided by the orange line.

Sigeff City Orphanage.

Amber had lost many memories, but she vaguely remembered being adopted many times.

The adoptions didn’t go smoothly; she was rarely abused, yet each time the adoption didn’t last long before she found herself alone again.

Each time she would return here, to Sigeff City Orphanage.

She spent more than half of her life here; compared to 26 Garden Road, this was truly the origin of her life.

Now she was returning to the origin once again.

As the orphanage door opened, Amber released Yu Siyi’s hand and walked alone to the entrance.

Amber said, ”Whenever I came back before, someone would give me a hug and say it’s okay, this is my home too.”

Yu Siyi caught the unspoken half of Amber’s words; now that person who hugged her was gone, not merely staying with her adoptive parents in the real Sigeff City, but gone entirely.

She comforted, ”The person you’re waiting for will return the hugs you’re owed when you meet.”

Amber nodded, and pushed open the orphanage door with both hands.

The orphanage, like the outside of Sigeff City, was filled with small cracks inside, as if it could collapse at any moment.

Yu Siyi saw the orange line merging into the door of the orphanage building. At the connecting point, there was a faint root aura, similar to what she had seen at the statue of the president before entering.

She knew that touching it would let her leave this world on the brink of collapse.

Amber seemed to sense something, turned her head and embraced Yu Siyi, saying, ”I’m going in to wait for him, and you should leave too.”

”Big sister, I believe you’ll also find the one you’ve been waiting for.”

Watching Amber walk into the orphanage, Yu Siyi called out:

”Wait, where should I go to find the person you’re waiting for?”

But Amber didn’t seem to hear her and disappeared into the orphanage.

Yu Siyi shook her head, ”Honestly, you’re trusting him too much.”

She reached out to touch the orange line on the door, and just like before, when she came to her senses, she was already back in the real Sigeff City.

She was at Sigeff City Orphanage.

Where should she find Amber’s adoptive parents? She’d better check the orphanage first for any records about Amber, then find Henderson to help investigate 26 Garden Street.

As Yu Siyi was thinking, she suddenly noticed the orange line tied to her wrist unraveling, pointing straight to the director’s office in the orphanage.

She followed the orange line inside and saw a young man speaking to the orphanage director about something.

The man was listening intently, but there was an urgency evident in his eyes.

Upon an unfamiliar intrusion, Wu Chang and Director Susan stopped their conversation, turning to look at the interloper.

Susan was in good spirits, only reminding, ”Sorry, we’re still in a meeting. If you need to speak with me, please wait outside.”

Wu Chang, however, unlike Susan, was trying hard to maintain his composure, preventing his surprise from showing.

Though Yu Siyi’s appearance and attire were drastically different from those during her time in Wanghai City, the intense love emanating from her was even more conspicuous than her previous style.

Wu Chang was astonished because the intense love now, like Fang Hui’s, had transformed into awakened Power of Root.

How did she also end up here, and why here?

Before he could speak, Yu Siyi walked directly up to him and preemptively asked:

”Is your home on 26 Garden Street?”

Wu Chang narrowed his eyes, displaying a guarded posture, and replied, ”How do you know?”

Yu Siyi didn’t answer, continuing to ask, ”Do you have an adopted daughter named Amber?”

With this question, both Wu Chang and Director Susan were stunned. Wu Chang looked at Susan, who shook her head and denied:

”I’ve never met this lady, nor have I disclosed any information about Amber to others.”

Upon hearing Susan’s words, Yu Siyi already knew the answer.

She grabbed Wu Chang’s wrist and said:

”It’s good that it’s you. Come with me. Amber is waiting for you.”
