Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 678: Chapter 311: Amber Is Waiting for You

Yu Siyi climbed onto the large tree by the street on Garden Street, hiding her body within the canopy, quietly observing the monster not far away.

She watched the monster’s strength and behavior patterns, hesitating whether to make a move.

The orange line that brought her into this nearly collapsing Sigef City originated from the person trapped inside the house by the monster. The method to leave should also lie with that person.

To get out of here, what she needed to do was simple: take down the monster and then rescue the person.

But the problem was, she couldn’t win against it.

The Cursed Dungeon suppresses 90% of the player’s attributes, which significantly narrows the gap between players.

This ensures that a newcomer like Yu Siyi, who has only experienced two dungeons and is not yet level ten, isn’t left too far behind by the max-level players.

In fact, due to the correction of world rules, the player’s attributes won’t be lower than 5, which in turn benefits Yu Siyi, who primarily invests in Energy and secondarily in Life and Will, adding nothing to other attributes.

Her Power, Agility, and Endurance were only at the level of 3 and 4, not only untouched but even boosted to 5 by the plane’s rules.

Of all the players entering the Cursed Dungeon, she was the only one who uniquely profited from the world rules.

Even so, she was still too weak, and was no match for the monster ahead.

Before entering the dungeon, Hou Jingchuan arranged for a specialized instructor to train her, emphasizing the dungeon monsters.

The attributes of dungeon monsters far exceed those of players; even players ranked in the top hundred of the Desolate Realm struggle to win one-on-one.

The instructor warned her not to rely on the Power of Root to harbor any thoughts about dungeon monsters. If she saw a monster, she should flee without hesitation!

Her heart was with Lu Langfeng, but that didn’t mean her mind was broken. She listened carefully to such advice.

Logically, she should have run by now.

But in this world, where could she run to?

As she hesitated, the monster on the rooftop bit through the attic roof, letting out an excited roar.

In the roar, she heard a little girl’s scream from inside the house, and then, through the window, she saw a little girl running down from the attic into the master bedroom on the second floor.

The master bedroom faced the street, allowing Yu Siyi a clear view of the scene inside.

The little girl was very young, appearing only about six or seven years old.

The master bedroom had a double bed, and from the room’s setup, it should be the little girl’s parents’ room, but they weren’t here at the moment.

The little girl curled up on the double bed, clasping her hands tightly together, praying softly for something.

Perhaps she was praying for a god to appear, or perhaps for her parents to appear.

The orange line guiding Yu Siyi here was on the other end, inside the little girl.

In a daze, Yu Siyi saw herself, remembering how when she was younger and her parents were busy with work, she stayed home alone at night, afraid to sleep during thunderstorms, also hoping her parents would appear.

She recalled once when her mother really did finish work early and returned home in her most frightened moment.

She was very happy then, happier than on her birthday.

If someone helps the little girl in the house, maybe she would be as happy as Yu Siyi was back then.

I’m not her mom; why am I worrying about all this?

Yu Siyi down from the tree, took a step towards 26 Garden Street, gave herself a slap, and laughed at herself self-deprecatingly.

She put her fingers to her lips and blew a sharp whistle, attracting the attention of the monster lying on the rooftop.

It was a trick she learned while hanging out at bars with her girlfriends, never expecting to use it one day to attract a monster’s wrath.

”Black Dog, look over here!”

The wolf-like monster seemed annoyed by the term ”Black Dog,” and leapt from the rooftop, landing five meters in front of Yu Siyi.

Yu Siyi’s expression stiffened; observing from a distance and confronting the monster up close felt starkly different in terms of pressure.

The monster was bigger than she anticipated; even standing still, its shoulder height exceeded two meters, capable of swallowing her whole.

In particular, she couldn’t feel any emotion from the monster; neither her Power of Root nor her Title Ability had any effect on it.

Simply put, her legs felt a bit weak.

It’s too late to regret now; at this point, she could only hope the orange line connecting to the little girl was tough enough to lend her sufficient strength.

Roar!

The monster used a combat roar like when frightening the little girl, striking at Yu Siyi’s Will.

Yu Siyi’s mind wavered just a bit, quickly breaking free from the Spiritual Shock.

Her Root Talent awakened when Lu Langfeng beguiled her, making her hopelessly infatuated, wanting to possess him.

Her love-struck mind exceeded limits, leaving no room for others in her heart. The downside was that she might lose control when seeing Lu Langfeng again, but the upside was that as long as she thought of him, her Will became extraordinarily resolute.

When controlled by Lu Langfeng, her determination made her willing to commit any crime for him without hesitation.

Now, free from control, that determination became her weapon. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

The extreme love-brain made most spiritual Control Skills ineffective on her, and with a goal to chase, she feared nothing.

The moment she broke free of the Spiritual Attack, Yu Siyi moved.

She hooked the guiding orange line mid-air, hooked it onto a metal needle, and drove it into the ground.

Then she lunged forward, dodging the monster’s pounce, fiercely pulling the orange line, coiling it around a second needle, piercing the ground.
