Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 521: Chapter 258: Love of Flaying (Part 3)

Later on, Yu Siyi completely let herself go and became who she is now.

Wu Chang sensed an intense emotion called love from her, likely related to her childhood lack of affection.

However, from her personal history in the files, her nature isn’t bad. Even when she caused trouble intentionally to gain her parents’ attention, she only harmed herself, with no record of hurting classmates or others.

Even when she let herself go later, she was still restrained within certain limits. The police records don’t even show any involvement in fights or brawls, so she couldn’t have suddenly turned into a deranged serial killer.

Zhao Yan quickly drove to Yu Siyi’s residence, a standalone villa in the East Lake District.

Yu Mingxuan promised Yu Siyi that if she got into university, she could move out. Since her freshman year, Yu Siyi has lived alone in this house.

Wu Chang and Zhao Yan went down to the garage, where a heavy smell of blood lingered.

For cases involving the Transcendent, the crime scene usually remains intact for 72 hours, so the arrangement in the garage was still the same.

The garage was lined with transparent plastic sheets to ensure no blood was left on the floor or walls. Two hooks and an iron pipe hung from the ceiling, where the victim was secured.

Various tools were placed in the garage, like a complete set of differently-sized skinning knives, a professional blood extractor, drugs to keep victims conscious, instruments for dissecting flesh and organs, waterproof body bags, and more.

Seeing all these tools, one might think they’ve entered an underground organ trafficking workshop.

Everything seemed to be here, except for one thing—resentment.

Zhao Yan asked, ”Any discoveries?”

Wu Chang shook his head, ”Not yet, it needs further observation.”

Zhao Yan took out a cigarette, intending to light it, but seeing the scene wasn’t appropriate for smoking, he put it away.

Wu Chang asked puzzledly, ”Since when did you crave cigarettes so much?”

Zhao Yan sighed, ”If you saw cases like this more often, you’d crave them too. No clues might be a good thing. Do you know why I advised you not to handle that woman? She’s already abnormal, and she’d make everyone around her abnormal too.”

Wu Chang: ”In what way abnormal?”

Zhao Yan said, ”Her cognition has surpassed humanity. When I questioned her about the case, she didn’t hide a thing about her actions, answering every detail with joy on her face.”

”She showed no signs of remorse or believed she did anything wrong. Rather than confessing, she seemed to be boasting.”

Wu Chang curiously asked, ”Boasting about what?”

”Boasting that someone loves her,” Zhao Yan’s voice was somewhat muffled.

”When I asked her motive for the crime, she said to love someone, you should give your all to them. When I heard this, it sent chills down my spine.”

Wu Chang looked at Zhao Yan in surprise, ”No way, that statement isn’t too outrageous, is it?”

Zhao Yan showed a bitter smile, ”Because before the interrogation, I just read a report. On the night of capturing Yu Siyi, wasn’t the victim still alive and conscious?”

”In the ambulance, the victim kept muttering something. Due to the pain, he’d bitten off his own tongue, so the paramedics couldn’t understand what he said and recorded it for analysis.”

”Before questioning her, the voice analysis results had just come out. The victim was saying: ’Let me go, I want to give her my all.’”

Wu Chang showed a thoughtful expression. Even the most desperate man wouldn’t go to this extent.

From the victim’s statement, it’s clear they were influenced by Extraordinary Abilities, controlling their minds, making them think they ”love” Yu Siyi and that love means giving everything, including their life.

Perhaps because of this, they felt love instead of resentment or obsession before dying, which explains the lack of resentment around Yu Siyi and the crime scene.

But there’s one question, was the so-called giving everything just an ideal, or was Yu Siyi genuinely exploiting the victims?

Judging from the evidence, the victims’ bodies and peeled skin were intact in the house, as if Yu Siyi killed them just to prove they loved her.

But is that really the case?

An inspiration flashed through Wu Chang’s mind as he looked at the special glass jar preserving fresh blood on the floor, reopened the files, and examined the information.

The skin, bones, flesh, and organs were intact, but the blood was missing!

He looked at Zhao Yan and asked, ”Where did she take the victims’ blood?”

Zhao Yan furrowed his brow, lost in thought, ”Blood, let me think.”

”When she explained the process, she said she flushed the blood down the drain. We found blood composition in the sewer, so we didn’t suspect.”

Wu Chang asked, ”During the interrogation, was there a member with lie detection abilities present?”

Zhao Yan shook his head, ”There’s only one with such ability in the bureau, and he’s swamped. No way he’ll handle this case. Not to mention a human lie detector, even lie detectors are in short supply. With such clear evidence, we didn’t use those.”

Wu Chang immediately said, ”Maybe Yu Siyi didn’t tell the truth. Go back and interrogate her again, and make sure you have a lie detector with you. If there’s none, find Sword Star. His high status means they don’t overwhelm him with tasks, just assign him to strong cases. He should be free.”

Zhao Yan asked, ”You’re not coming with me? I’m not familiar with Sword Star and might struggle to ask for his help.”

Wu Chang: ”Not right now, I need to go somewhere else.”

Zhao Yan: ”What’s so important?”

Wu Chang replied, ”The Emotion Art Gallery, maybe the owner knows something about Yu Siyi.”
