The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2627: Chapter 2627: Disturbance at the Plum Viewing Banquet (Part 3)

”The ones attending the banquet are the noble women from Aristocratic Families.” Yang Ruxin reminded Erni while sitting in the carriage, ”Unlike palace banquets, the rules here are fewer. Similarly, the thoughts between everyone will be more complex.”

”Elder sister, rest assured. I know, with our kind of status, we will be criticized by many.” Erni was no longer the timid girl from before; after experiencing much, she had grown, ”I will act according to the situation.”

”Everyone wears a mask.” Yang Ruxin was very pleased, ”At this time, what you need to do is also wear a mask, don’t let others see through you. Say a few words when you can, and just smile when you can’t. You will never be wrong.”

”Hmm.” Erni nodded vigorously, ”What you taught us, ’fewer words, fewer mistakes; no words, no mistakes,’ I remember it all.”

Yang Ruxin pinched Erni’s cheek.

Erni blushed, raising her hand to cover her face, ”Elder sister, I’m already married, not like Mimi or Lanlan.”

”In my eyes, you will always be the little ones who used to follow behind me.”

Erni’s eyes became a bit warm, thinking of those earlier days... Thankfully, there was her elder sister.

Yang Ruxin knew the little girl thought of the past, so she quickly changed the topic, ”Actually, coming to the Duke Residence is not only to show you the gatherings in these noble circles, but also because the plum blossoms here are truly beautiful.”

Though the Duke Residence isn’t the largest among the four Duke Residences, it has the best scenery. The backyard has a small hill covering seven or eight acres, full of plum trees. Especially at the top, there’s an ancient plum tree over five hundred years old that blooms with fragrant and spectacular flowers every winter season.

Even more amazing is that all the plum trees on the hill are not of the same variety, yet without exception, they all bloom red flowers.

Of course, the Duke had once ordered the transplantation of white plum trees and the like, but without exception, they either died or the flowers turned red when they bloomed.

”So miraculous?” Erni was truly surprised.

Yang Ruxin nodded, ”Moreover, their plum blossoms have an especially long blooming period, usually starting to bloom gradually when winter arrives, reaching their peak in the last month of the lunar year, and only withering gradually after the lunar New Year.”

Erni’s eyes sparkled, ”Can I paint it and use it as a pattern in the future?”

”You certainly can.” Yang Ruxin nodded.

Expectation appeared in Erni’s eyes.

At the gate of the Duke Residence, it was bustling with activity. Those who had received invitations were arriving one after another, with carriages lining up to enter. Once people disembarked, the coachmen would drive the carriages to a dedicated yard by the side door for rest and waiting.

Yang Ruxin actually had her own carriage representing her status, granted by the Emperor, marked with the emblem of Madam Ruyi. However, she seldom used it outside of going to the palace; she didn’t like people recognizing who had arrived wherever she went. Therefore, today she used the carriage brought from home, which looked quite ordinary on the outside.

Ye Zhou had excellent driving skills and turned directly into the entrance when the opposing carriage was still a distance away, making the other carriage need to line up behind them to enter.

It’s likely that seeing the identity from the carriage, the people opposing won’t be upset. However, seeing that such an ordinary carriage did not yield to them, they immediately felt displeased.
