The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2605: Chapter 2605: Time to Meet (2)

”It seems like the Chief of Staff has reached a dead end.” Yang Ruxin smiled slightly, ”Previously, when Zou Qiuyue’s scandal broke out, he could still justify it by saying he was beguiled by a woman. But now, with his father and his wife together making a cuckold of him, he can’t deflect this matter. He certainly won’t be able to keep his position as Chief of Staff.” She said while stroking her chin, ”However, for so long, old man the Emperor doesn’t seem to make any move, still keeping him in his position.”

”The Emperor is observing our stance.” Gu Qingheng sneered a bit, ”After all, it’s been a long time, and we haven’t openly opposed him.” He glanced at Gu Di: ”Let him know that Shu Xing is not in.”

Shu Xing arrived in Beijing, and aside from having one talk with the Crown Prince, he didn’t meet anyone else. He spends his time roaming around the city with Dao Xuzi, searching for food, drinks, and fun, busying himself joyfully every day. Yang Ruxin seldom gets to see the old man nowadays. It’s rumored that this time, a few old fellows went to Haijin City to eat seafood.

Gu Di turned and left, holding the invitation.

”Qingheng, you...” Yang Ruxin stood up and walked to Gu Qingheng’s side, placing her hand on his shoulder.

”Xinxin, rest assured.” Gu Qingheng held Yang Ruxin’s hand, ”That person to me is even less than a stranger; I’m not even bothered to hate him.”

”That’s good.” Yang Ruxin let out a sigh of relief, though contemplating internally that originally she planned to proceed slowly like a dull knife cutting meat, but now since that particular Mr. Gu insists on coming, is it time to deal with him?

Just then, Gu Di returned: ”That Mr. Gu refuses to leave, saying since Shu Xing is not around, he wants to see the madam.” He looked at Yang Ruxin, after all, it involves an Imperial Court official, he can’t just forcefully drive him away.

”Just say the madam isn’t available.” Gu Qingheng waved his hand directly, ”From now on, if he comes, just have the gatekeeper reject him.”

”Don’t.” Yang Ruxin, however, smiled, ”Even being a Second-rank official, Mr. Gu has personally visited quite a few times; we should at least meet him, don’t you think?” Saying this, she instructed to send three beans to Dong Wenxiu, then proceeded towards the gate.

These days, Gu Sheng lived in a daze, he didn’t know what went wrong, how suddenly his life fell from the clouds into a swamp?

Scandals kept breaking out at home, making him afraid to even step outside.

Actually, if it were only Zou Qiuyue’s scandal, he could still have a reason, but now what’s revealed is the incest between his father and Zou Qiuyue, there’s truly no words left.

Although he continuously claimed illness to avoid the court sessions, and hasn’t resigned, he clearly understands that the position of Minister of Rites won’t be his for long, especially with the Crown Prince and princess from Jin Country visiting, the Ministry of Rites needs to greet them, yet he, the Minister of Rites, hasn’t shown up, surely the Emperor is upset.

He thought the Emperor would’ve gotten angry long ago, but hasn’t made a move on him, this brings him both relief and even greater anxiety, feeling the unpredictability of the ruler’s mind, pondering it’s likely all due to considering his son and daughter-in-law’s status.

His previously overlooked son amazed everyone with outstanding talents, his daughter-in-law even became the first female official of the dynasty, doing business with the Empress Dowager, how many are eager to flatter them? Yet he...

He knows, everyone is mocking him behind his back.

Initially, he was defiant, but faced with reality, it forced him to bow his head.

And all of this, was caused by that damned Zou Qiuyue.
