The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1086: Chapter 1086: Recovering Well (14)

Gu Qingheng’s expression finally softened, but he didn’t let Yang Ruxin carry the person; instead, he called for the Shadow Guard.

When Du Juan woke up, she found that it was already daylight outside and she was lying on a kang, her outer clothing removed. What was key was that her wound had been treated. She hurriedly sat up with a jolt, touching her chest and back to confirm they had not been tampered with, and then finally let out a sigh of relief.

”You’re awake?” At that moment, Xiaoyun walked in. ”Are you hungry? Have something to eat.”

”You... Excuse me, where is this?” Du Juan looked at Xiaoyun warily.

”This is Xiaoliu Village,” Xiaoyun set down the bowl. ”Last night, my young lady and son-in-law saved you. Do you want me to feed you, or will you eat by yourself?”

Glancing at the bowl of porridge, Du Juan reached out to hold it, but the action pulled at her wound, making her wince with pain. Nonetheless, she didn’t put the bowl down and ate a few bites through gritted teeth, after which she felt much more comfortable.

”You continue to rest,” Xiaoyun said with a smile, picking up the empty bowl to leave. ”I’ll bring you medicine later.”

”Miss,” Du Juan hastily called out to Xiaoyun, ”please thank your young lady for me. I... I have errands to attend to and don’t wish to trouble you further...” As she spoke, she attempted to get off the kang, but the multitude of wounds on her body caused her so much pain that sweat poured down like rain.

”You really don’t have any sense,” Xiaoyun said somewhat displeased. ”My young lady kindly saved you, and the least you could do is thank her in person. And here you are, wanting to leave as soon as you wake up... You do realize how precious my young lady’s medicine is, right? If you get up now, all the good medicine will have gone to waste...”

Du Juan felt extremely embarrassed by her rebuke, but she truly didn’t dare to stay any longer; she couldn’t let those people find her. However, in her current state, it seemed she couldn’t leave; even if she managed to get out, she wouldn’t be able to guarantee her own safety. Left with no choice, she offered an embarrassed smile, ”Miss, you’re right to reprimand me, I really didn’t appreciate your kindness...”

With a smile, Xiaoyun left, remarking on how hard it must be for the young girl to disguise herself as a man, ”Well, you rest up. I’ll bring you lunch later.”

Yang Ruxin had initially planned to return after breakfast, but since they had brought back a rescued person, she decided to set off in the afternoon instead.

The younger ones were delighted; with several children in the village who had grown familiar with each other the previous afternoon, it was hard to say goodbye. Now given the chance to play for another morning, they were naturally ecstatic.

When Yang Ruxin arrived, Du Juan had just taken her medicine. She had expected it to be a medicine soup but was surprised when Xiaoyun brought her a Medicine Pill that melted in her mouth, and not long after consuming it, she felt as if her wounds barely pained her anymore...

”Your recovery is going well,” said Yang Ruxin, glancing at Du Juan. ”You’ll be able to get up tomorrow, but it will take about a month to fully recover.”

”Thank you, young lady, for saving my life,” Du Juan, recognizing Yang Ruxin, glanced at her wrist. It seemed that those two snakes were coiled around her wrist last night.

”Looking for them?” Yang Ruxin smiled, extending her hand to reveal Xiaolun and Xiaoyin.

Xiaolun flicked its tongue at Du Juan.

”Don’t snakes hibernate?” Du Juan found it all too fascinating.

”Normally, yes, but this couple does not,” Yang Ruxin chuckled. ”They were the ones who saved you last night. If you want to thank someone, thank them...”

Du Juan opened her mouth but found herself unable to thank the two snakes.

Yang Ruxin, not insisting, put Xiaolun and Xiaoyin away: ”We will be returning soon. However, this is my estate, so you may rest here for a few days before departing... I’ll instruct Uncle Genmao to take care of you...”
