The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1083: Chapter 1083: Arriving at the Cottage (11)

”Want to know?” Gu Qingheng extended his hand to lift Yang Ruxin onto his lap, sitting her down. After all, it was just the two of them in the car, suitable for some affection.

”If you can tell, then tell. If you can’t, then don’t. I was just asking casually anyway...” Yang Ruxin really didn’t care and tried to get down, because being held like this made her feel like he was treating her like a child, which was quite awkward.

”The master didn’t say I couldn’t tell,” Gu Qingheng rested his chin on Yang Ruxin’s shoulder. ”He said my fate has changed...” The more she struggled, the tighter he held her, refusing to let go.

”Because of me?” Yang Ruxin raised her eyebrows slightly, and finally gave up struggling. If he wanted to hug, then let him hug.

Gu Qingheng nodded, ”He said that I was fated to have a short life, but you changed my fate, so you are my little lucky star...” Of course, Master Lian Chi also said that changing one’s fate could alter the heavenly order, and perhaps in the future he might face a major disaster, but there was no need to tell her that, lest the girl worry. Since fate could be changed, what was there to fear about a disaster?

”I knew that old monk wasn’t simple,” Yang Ruxin laughed, ”Yu Qingge ran away as soon as she saw him, saying he gave her the creeps, and sure enough, he saw right through my origins...” She paused, ”Luckily, the old monk is a decent person. If it had been some self-righteous type, I might have been taken down as a monster.”

”Anyone who dares to touch you has to get past me first,” Gu Qingheng’s voice was soft, yet filled with determination.

Yang Ruxin simply laughed.

”Touched?”

”A little.”

”Then shouldn’t you show some gratitude?”

”How should I show it?”

”Like this...” Gu Qingheng said and then lowered his head, giving her a tender, sorrowful kiss.

It was only a five or six-mile journey from the mountain to Liu’s village, and even with the rough dirt roads and slow speed, it took less than two hours to get into the village.

Since advance notice had been sent, the village head, Liu Genmao, had been waiting at the village entrance with his son, early. As soon as they saw the carriage approaching, they hurriedly greeted them. This was, after all, the first time the master’s family was visiting collectively, so it naturally warranted special attention. After a brief greeting, he led them to the main courtyard entrance.

”It was cleaned yesterday, and again today; the place has been warmed several times...” Liu Genmao watched Yang Ruxin alighting from the carriage, and rushed over to report. ”The bedding has all been aired out too.”

”You’ve worked hard,” Yang Ruxin smiled, ”These are my family members; get to know them.”

Liu Genmao and his son then paid their respects to everyone.

As it was the slack season for farming, the villagers, knowing that the owners of the estate had come, gathered around. Yang Ruxin handed out candies to a few of the kids, asking them to go play with the village children.

Liu Genmao’s wife was already busy in the kitchen with her two daughters-in-law.

”Right now, there aren’t many vegetables in the fields, just radishes and cabbage. But the day before yesterday, his dad and Fugui caught two rabbits on the hillside. They couldn’t bear to eat them, so today we’ll use the radishes to stew rabbit meat...” Genmao’s wife seemed capable, ”we’ll stew pork belly with cabbage, and we also have homemade tofu...”

”Not bad at all,” Yang Ruxin smiled, ”You know how to make tofu?”

”No secrets from the young miss, my eldest daughter-in-law’s family used to make tofu, but they fell on hard times later. However, she inherited the craft...” Genmao’s wife smiled, ”We make some occasionally, just to supply the people on the estate...”
