The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1064: Chapter 1064: Taking Sides (2)

That day, everyone laughed and played until late before they each retired to their own rooms.

After washing up, Yuan Mengzhu went to bed with Fang Dehua.

”Master, the fact that Xinxin and the young man from the Gu Family suddenly got married in such a hurry, is there something secret behind this?” Yuan Mengzhu glanced at Fang Dehua.

”Hmm,” Fang Dehua’s expression became solemn, ”this year, there was a snow disaster in the north, and it is said that many livestock froze to death. I fear that when spring comes, the grass may not even grow. If the grass doesn’t grow there, the livestock won’t survive...”

”Do you mean there might be a war?” Yuan Mengzhu sat up straight all of a sudden, ”Will Qingheng go?”

”I’m afraid he will,” Fang Dehua nodded, ”This has happened before. To plunder food, Yuan Country will definitely move southwards, and then war will be inevitable.”

”He...”

”He is the eldest son of the Gu Family from the Shu Region, renowned as a prodigy, Gu Ye,” Fang Dehua sighed, ”What happened to the Gu Family after that is beyond our knowledge. Later, the Gu Family claimed that Gu Ye had committed grave crimes against the clan and was expelled. Afterward, this prodigy completely disappeared...”

”The Gu Family from the Shu Region?”

”Right, even though the Gu Family’s foundations are not profound, the current Family Head, Gu Sheng, is the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Rites, and that’s the Prince Regent...”

”But Qingheng has already separated from the Gu Family. Without a foundation, is he expected to start as a low-ranking soldier?”

”The Gu Family may not suffice, but Qingheng’s maternal family has deep roots. The Shu Family from Tongcheng is a true scholarly family, and back in the day, Shu Xing served as the Imperial Teacher...” Fang Dehua smiled, ”Otherwise, why do you think the eighth and tenth princes came over here?”

”So now he’s... with the Crown Prince?”

”Seems so, so if there’s truly a war, the Crown Prince must make his mark. He cannot lead the troops himself, but his subordinates cannot stay idle. And if Gu Qingheng wishes to seek justice for himself, he’ll need strength, hence military merit is the quickest shortcut...”

”Doesn’t that mean Xinxin will suffer?” Yuan Mengzhu had really come to love this adopted daughter of hers.

”That girl probably knew that, which is why she got married so quickly...”

”Alas!” Yuan Mengzhu sighed, and then suddenly widened her eyes, ”Master, are you saying that you’re now part of the Crown Prince’s faction?”

Fang Dehua nodded: ”With our sworn kinship, no one would believe it if we denied it.”

”Then...”

”Don’t worry.” Fang Dehua smiled, ”I originally didn’t have the qualifications to take sides anyway, considering my low rank. Now that I have the opportunity, why not seize it? Moreover, the Crown Prince is the Prince Regent, the future ruler, so by supporting him, I am being loyal...”

”It’s good you don’t blame me.”

”Why would I blame you?” Fang Dehua took Yuan Mengzhu’s hand, ”I should thank you instead...” he said, his gaze on Yuan Mengzhu seemed somewhat peculiar.

”What’s wrong?” Yuan Mengzhu felt a bit uncomfortable under his gaze.

”Mengzhu, I was thinking...” Fang Dehua hesitated.

”What is it? Just say it,” Yuan Mengzhu frowned, looking worried.

Suddenly, Fang Dehua rolled over and pinned Yuan Mengzhu down: ”Mengmeng told me that I’m still quite healthy, and you are as well, so, I was thinking that we should have another child. It would be a companion for Zeze...”

”You...” Just as Yuan Mengzhu was about to say something, she was silenced by the other’s kiss, and she ultimately let him take the lead.

Meanwhile, Yang Ruxin was in her secret space. Previously, she had felt that there were ample supplies there, but if there truly was to be a war, those supplies might not be enough. So, she began to actively harvest what she had planted, saving everything that had ripened.
