The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Wild Chicken Stewed with Mushrooms (Sixth Update)_1

”Mhm,” Yang Ruxin nodded. ”We can treat Mother’s sickness, and also buy new clothes and good food for everyone... we can even buy books for Xiaofeng...”

Xiaofeng immediately smiled, his big eyes squinting.

Everyone else smiled too.

”Is Gu Second Brother really that amazing?” Sanni couldn’t believe that her eldest sister could have hunted a Black Bear, thinking it must have been Gu Yao’s doing.

”Of course,” Yang Ruxin nodded. ”Gu Yao knows martial arts, but your big sister is pretty amazing too.”

Xiaofeng’s eyes flickered. As a boy, he naturally loved martial arts, and he thought, what if he learned martial arts too? Could he then protect Mother and his sisters? It seemed like he needed to find an opportunity to ask Gu Second Brother and have him take Xiaofeng as a disciple...

Unaware of her little brother’s thoughts, Yang Ruxin quickly instructed Erni and Sanni, ”Alright, hurry up and boil some water, let’s prepare the chicken. Tonight, we’ll stew both of them, mushroom stew with chicken, we can eat as much meat as we want...”

Since the household only had one pot, they couldn’t cook much else. So they stewed two chickens with mushrooms in a big pot, and pasted flatbreads around the edge. When the chicken would be done, so would the bread. Even if the bread slipped into the pot, it didn’t matter, it tasted even better soaked in chicken soup.

”Sis, shall we send a bowl over to Aunt Hehua and them?” Erni sniffed, it smelled so good.

”Not today,” Yang Ruxin shook her head. ”They know we’ve just separated from the family and don’t have much. Right now, let’s nourish ourselves first. We’ll have the chance to repay them in the future.”

Erni heard this and thought it made sense, so she didn’t insist.

Yang Ruxin let her younger siblings eat first while she took two big bowls next door. She knew the Feng Family wouldn’t dare to butcher the rabbit, and now with Gu Yao gone and Qingheng unable to see, she guessed they probably wouldn’t cook the rabbit tonight. Sending some over would be enough for the three of them.

And Yang Ruxin’s guess was correct. Feng Shi held the knife and measured for a long time but didn’t dare to touch the rabbit.

In fact, although there were five siblings, they were all too young. With two chickens and so many mushrooms, even after they all had eaten to their fill, they couldn’t finish the meal. A big bowl was left, which was just right to save for Uncle Xiaowu.

After eating their fill, the kids felt sleepy. As there was no oil lamp in the house for the moment, as soon as it grew dark, Yang Ruxin had everyone wash their feet and get into bed.

”Big sister, will we really get some silver?” Sini asked, unable to help herself even as she lay down.

”We definitely will,” Yang Ruxin touched her little sister’s head. ”That’s the spoils I hunted with Gu Second Brother. Once sold, we’ll share the silver. Now sleep well, and when you wake up, maybe you’ll see the silver...”

Sini immediately smiled and then really closed her eyes.

The rest were also quite satisfied, and soon, even breathing sounds could be heard from everyone.

Yang Ruxin smiled, moistened Xun Hui’s lips, then gave her a full body massage. She took a deep breath, went out to boil a pot of hot water, and then slipped into the space to prepare for a bath.

Sitting in the wooden tub, Yang Ruxin surveyed her surroundings in the space and couldn’t help but sigh—this space’s functions were too limited. How great would it be to have a few acres of land? Or a Spiritual Spring? Or modern home appliances like water, electricity, and gas? With these thoughts, she suddenly couldn’t help but laugh. Humans really never know satisfaction. Having this space was an immense blessing, yet she still wanted more. That wasn’t good. She decided to curb such thoughts there and then.
