The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 187: Chapter 187: Holding a Grudge (Part 1)_1

After Lin Yue’e married Wang Sheng, she indeed delighted him for a while, and Lin Yue’e also took secret pleasure in that time.

However, as time went by, Lin Yue’e realized that the Wang Family was nothing like the matchmaker had described. Not only were they desperately poor, but Wang Sheng was a gambler with a bad temper. Once his infatuation faded, a slap could come her way if she spoke against his wishes. But by then, what was done could not be undone, and she could only swallow her teeth along with the blood.

By coincidence, not long after, Lin Xiaoling also married into Dapu East Village and became the daughter-in-law of the old village chief. It wasn’t long before her husband took over as the village chief, and she became the village chief’s wife. Among the women of the village, she was now a leader.

Lin Yue’e, feeling inferior, always felt dwarfed by Lin Xiaoling, especially when seeing Lin Xiaoling smiling every day, while Yang Mancang always protected Lin Xiaoling in front of others and behind their backs. She felt an immense jealousy and resentment but was helpless to do anything about it.

Fortunately, after she gave birth to two sons and a daughter in quick succession, Wang Sheng seemed to have turned over a new leaf. Although he remained domineering, he no longer hit her at the slightest provocation. Life became somewhat bearable, but she still could not compare to Lin Xiaoling.

So, when Lin Xiaoling spoke up, Lin Yue’e wilted even further. She knew that she could not match Lin Xiaoling’s family conditions, nor was she as beautiful. If Wang Sheng found out that it had been her who had meddled in the past, he would probably beat her to death. She had told Wang Sheng that Lin Xiaoling looked down on him, and for this, Wang Sheng had even come to hate Lin Xiaoling. Therefore, over the years, she tried her best not to provoke Lin Xiaoling, and even more so because she did not dare to.

The villagers of Budong Village did not know the grudge between the two women. Those who knew were only Lin Xiaoling’s family and Lin Yue’e herself, so the villagers all thought Lin Yue’e was wary of the village chief.

Not wanting to confront Lin Xiaoling, Lin Yue’e didn’t dare make a sound and slinked away meekly.

However, although Lin Yue’e dared not provoke Lin Xiaoling or the Gu Family, it did not mean she would just let it go. She directed all her hatred towards Yang Dani. She was determined to return that slap twofold.

Yang Ruxin looked over just in time to catch Lin Yue’e’s malicious gaze, and couldn’t help but narrow her eyes slightly. None of the people from the Wang Family were good, but she was not afraid. If Lin Yue’e dared to harm them, she would make sure she regretted coming into this world.

Little Liuzi and the others were very angry and worried just now, but they had not expected Yang Dani to be so strong, nor had they anticipated Gu Yao to be so intimidating. However, everyone thought there was nothing wrong with that, as Lin Yue’e really had it coming, earning herself a bad reputation.

Yang Dani withdrew her gaze and glanced at the surrounding villagers: ”Our main branch was just divided. If it weren’t for the pity of my aunts and uncles, my siblings and I might have starved to death...” she said, lowering her head to sniffle, ”I am the eldest sister, I have to provide for my siblings and get treatment for my mother. I had no choice but to push through. Second Brother Gu saw my plight and took me to the mountains to find food... My affairs with Second Brother Gu are pure, and we barely survived, only to have such dirty water thrown on us, this is after our lives...”

”Being a man and getting slandered doesn’t bother me, but how hard has it been for Dani? We’re all from the same village, do you really want to see those children starve to death?” Gu Yao also took a deep breath, ”I don’t care who it is, if anyone continues to spread false rumors, they better not let me find out because I will seek double retribution...”
