The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Praising You (Part 2)_1

”Being grateful and returning favors seems like a good thing, but you have to use the right methods,” Gu Qingheng said with a laugh. ”You are still too kind.”

Yang Ruxin touched her nose guiltily. Was she kind? She had never thought so before.

Gu Qingheng’s hands clasped together. He really wanted to keep holding her hand, but feared it might scare her, so he had to restrain himself with all his might, ”Also, once you have the silver, buy the courtyard.” Although his third great uncle was very kind, a large family had many branches, and with so many people in the house, their thoughts were bound to be different.

”I’ve thought about this already. I won’t just take our third great uncle’s house for nothing, I don’t want to be criticized,” Yang Ruxin said, nodding eagerly.

”It’s good that you have a plan. I was worrying for nothing...” Gu Qingheng clearly breathed a sigh of relief. In fact, he had previously asked Gu Yao to go to their third great uncle ahead of time, wanting to buy the house and then give it to Xinxin in the name of their uncle. However, the uncle did not agree, saying the house would collapse anyway if it was left empty and that it should just be given to Dani. So, later Gu Yao went with silver and came back still carrying the silver.

The significance was different now that Xinxin was going to buy the house herself.

”How could I have worried for nothing?” Yang Ruxin shook her head. ”I am really very glad to have a friend like you who is willing to give advice. Otherwise, I’d probably do something stupid.”

”How could that be? You just haven’t thought it through for a moment,” Gu Qingheng felt somewhat disappointed inside. They were just friends, after all. When would they no longer just be friends? Although he knew haste would not bring success, he still couldn’t help feeling anxious.

”Do you know? You are lucky to be disabled; otherwise, someone like you would really be too much for people to handle...” Yang Ruxin suddenly sighed.

”What do you mean by that...”

”I mean, if you weren’t blind and lame, probably very few men could compare with you. Everyone who sees you would feel ashamed...” Yang Ruxin patted Gu Qingheng’s shoulder. ”So, heaven is fair after all. It gave you an extraordinary appearance and a supremely intelligent brain but took away your freedom of movement...”

”Are you praising me or pitying me?”

”Definitely praising you.”

Gu Qingheng just laughed.

At that moment, Yang Ruxin felt as if brilliant fireworks had suddenly burst before her eyes, so dazzling that she was momentarily lost in their glow.

Who knows how much time passed before Yang Ruxin finally came back to her senses and hurriedly averted her gaze, ”I should go.” Then she ran off as if fleeing, this time for real.

Gu Qingheng chuckled. Just now, he could feel that she had been staring at him in a daze. Then he raised his hand to touch his face, his fingers seemed to still carry the fragrance of the woman. He was truly beginning to be very grateful for his own face.

In the kitchen, the Feng Family matriarch was cooking but kept her ears peeled for the sounds in the yard. Nocticing that Yang Ruxin had left, she walked over to where Gu Qingheng stood, ”Qingheng... have you and Xinxin... made things clear?” Just now, that young girl said there was nothing between them, and she worried that the young master might be unrequited in his affections.

”Mother.” Gu Qingheng lowered his hands and looked in the direction of the Feng matriarch’s face. ”I like Xinxin... but things are not clear yet... However...” It seemed there had been some progress.

”She is a good girl, but I’m afraid just in case...”

”Are you worried she might despise me?” Gu Qingheng’s mouth curved into a smirk.
