Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 1177: Chapter 1176 The Things His Father Left Him

Father became more and more mysterious to him.

From the tales of others, he caught a glimpse of the tip of the iceberg that was his father.

From the mouths of many, he learned that his father was a Martial Way prodigy, a monster even more perverted in talent than King Kunlun. His strength back then was in no way inferior to King Kunlun, it was even better.

Yet now, from Doctor Jin Yuan’s mouth, he found out that his father was also a doctor, a practitioner of the Medical Arts even more powerful than himself at present.

A man who with casual instruction could elevate Jin Yuan to become the preeminent figure in Eastern Medicine within one month.

So monstrous and powerful he was, yet as his son, Lin Dong had never seen him, and even all of these details had been gleaned from the conversations of others.

Lin Dong’s emotions were deeply complex.

As someone who had never met his father, he truly longed to meet him.

He wanted to ask him if there were unspeakable reasons for never visiting him and his mother, to ask why, with such medical skills, he did not heal his mother. Why did he allow her to suffer excruciating pain before dying in front of him?

And then, during the Lunar New Year period, Lin Dong returned to his hometown. He found his mother’s coffin was empty, her ”corpse” vanished without a trace. Could it be related to this father of his?

Moreover, he wanted to ask this father of his if he truly ever cared about his son. In his eyes, what did his son amount to? Was he setting some sort of scheme into motion, and to him, was his son merely playing the role of a pawn?

He really had so many questions he wished to ask him.

He truly wanted to meet him, to get a resolution.

Even if unloved, Lin Dong wanted to know the result!

His emotions were so out of control at the moment that he nearly fractured Medical Saint Jin Yuan’s arm in his grasp.

Medical Saint Jin Yuan hastily said, ”Chief Lin, Chief Lin, please calm down a bit, calm down. You are about to succumb to your inner demons...”

At that moment, the ’卐’ symbol on Lin Dong’s body lit up, as if a peace mantra from the Buddhist Clan was rising in his heart, purifying his chaotic thoughts.

Only then did Lin Dong’s discomposure get suppressed, returning to a state of calm.

This time, he calmly asked, ”Doctor Jin Yuan, please tell me quickly, where is my father?”

Medical Saint Jin Yuan took a deep breath and said, ”I’m sorry, Chief Lin, it’s clear that you really want to meet your father.”

”But as of now, I also don’t know where your father is. I too want to know, to thank him again.”

”Your father stayed at my manor for a month fifteen years ago. During that month, he was healing. Of course, he also gave guidance on my medical skills. The elixir I refined before, it was with his guidance that I was able to master it. He mentioned it was an elixir that could be refined without the need of Alchemist Fire.”

”It’s just that its quality level is very low, utterly useless to Martial Artists. It’s effective only for certain unique common people, and this sort of elixir can’t even be considered introductory...”

”I apologize, I’ve gone off-topic. To get back to your father’s whereabouts, after staying and healing at my place for a month, he bid farewell, and I don’t have a way to contact your father, nor do I know where he went afterwards...”

Upon hearing this, a bitter expression showed on Lin Dong’s face. As expected, it was disappointing.

As expected, he still could not find him!

Lin Dong sighed, falling into a state of silence and loss.

But at that moment, Jin Yuan said, ”Chief Lin, although I don’t know where your father went afterwards, your father left some things with me. He specifically instructed me that if I ever met a Lin by Surname who resembled him, I should verify the relationship...”

”If the relationship is confirmed, that you are indeed his son, then I should hand over that item to you.”

”What? My father left something with you to pass on to me?” Lin Dong exclaimed with surprise, no matter what it was, it sparked joy in his heart.

At the very least, he knew one thing, his father had him in his heart.

His father cared about him!

Jin Yuan nodded with a smile: ”Yes, that item is not simple. It’s kept in a box, and as for what exactly it is, I couldn’t say.”

”I didn’t open it to check.”

It was something entrusted by his benefactor for him to pass on, so naturally, Jin Yuan would not consider peeking at it or harbor any covetous thoughts.

Perhaps it was during that month that Lin Zhantian recognized his character, deeming him trustworthy enough to be confident in entrusting the box’s contents to him, so that he could hand them over to Lin Dong.

And indeed, he kept his promise; he didn’t look inside. Once he discovered Lin Dong, he immediately informed him of it.

”Where is that item now?” Lin Dong asked immediately.

Jin Yuan responded at once: ”Chief Lin, although I do not know what is inside the box your father entrusted to me, in my view, it’s the most important thing. It concerns my promise!”

”Naturally, I wouldn’t carry such an important item on my person. So, I stored it in a hidden location in my manor in Paocai Nation.”

”How about you come with me to Paocai Nation, and I’ll give it to you?” he lastly suggested.

Lin Dong expressed his understanding since Jin Yuan was only in Dragon Country for the Medical Competition; he wouldn’t have known in advance that Lin Dong was the person he was looking for.

So it’s natural that he wouldn’t carry something so critical with him; naturally, he would keep it well-hidden.

Lin Dong pondered for a moment, then said, ”Okay, I’ll follow you to Paocai Nation the day after tomorrow to retrieve the item my father left for me.”

He had to get the item left by his father.

However, he could not go immediately; he needed a day to handle some matters in Demon City.

Since his journey to the Southwest Region had already taken up a week, there were also some affairs left unattended back in Demon City.

Like those concerning the War Department and the Dragon Gate.

Moreover, he needed to convey to the people in Longmen his father’s whereabouts from fifteen years ago, as they had once been his father’s most loyal subordinates and still were to this day.

He had to tell them that his father was still alive fifteen years ago.

Also, this time going to Paocai Nation, he needed to bring some people from Longmen with him.

This time, he was not only intending to recover the item his father had left him, but he also planned to retrieve the Acupuncture Bronze Man that had fallen into the hands of Paocai Nation financial clique, the Lee family, years ago.

At the same time, he wanted to give the Martial Artists of Paocai Nation a more profound understanding of the weight behind the name Master Lin.

To show them what happens to those who dare to attempt an assassination on Master Lin!

Within the domestic Martial Arts World, Lin Dong might hold back. But once overseas, heh, Lin Dong certainly wouldn’t know restraint.
