Chapter 1176: Chapter 1175: The Purpose of Jin Yuan

Lin Dong later arranged a meeting with Jin Yuan at a designated location.

After hanging up the phone, Lin Dong was indeed curious; he had no idea why Jin Yuan deliberately chose not to return to his country and instead stayed in Dragon Country to look for him.

Was it because he lost the competition and couldn’t accept it?

Shaking his head, Lin Dong didn’t overthink it and immediately hurried to the location they had agreed upon.

The place the two agreed to meet was at the Demon City Grand Hotel.

Soon, Lin Dong arrived at the Demon City Grand Hotel.

”Doctor Jin Yuan, may I ask what it is you want to discuss with me that can be said now?” Lin Dong asked again.

Medical Saint Jin Yuan looked around and, lowering his voice, said, ”Chief Lin, this place is not very convenient for talking, as there are too many people around. Could you arrange a private room?”

”Okay.” Lin Dong nodded, now even more curious about what Jin Yuan had to say.

He was actually being this secretive.

Quickly, Lin Dong had someone arrange a private room for them, and after entering and making sure that it was just the two of them, Medical Saint Jin Yuan finally began to speak:

”Master Lin, the matter I’ve come to discuss with you today is of great importance. That’s why I’ve taken such precautions, and I hope you won’t take offense.”

Lin Dong nodded and waved his hand, ”Doctor Jin Yuan, these are small matters; I won’t take them to heart.”

”Now you can tell me, what exactly is the matter you wanted to discuss?”

Jin Yuan nodded, and the first sentence he uttered left Lin Dong stunned on the spot.

”May I ask, Chief Lin, if you are acquainted with Mr. Lin Zhantian?”

”What?” Lin Dong was truly surprised and shocked upon hearing this, and after a moment of stunned silence, he hurriedly asked, ”Doctor Jin Yuan, how do you know my father?”

”Your father? Mr. Lin Zhantian is really your father? No wonder, no wonder...” Medical Saint Jin Yuan had sought out Lin Dong because he felt a connection between Lin Dong and his benefactor, Lin Zhantian.

Because they looked somewhat alike, and moreover, they both had the surname Lin.

Beyond that, his talent for alchemy was also like that of Mr. Lin Zhantian. Mr. Lin Zhantian was also able to use Alchemist Fire to prepare Dan medicines.

Now that he had confirmed this, he felt even more assured that he had found the right person.

And so, the task his benefactor had entrusted him with could finally be fulfilled.

At the moment, Lin Dong eagerly pressed on: ”Doctor Jin Yuan, how do you know my father? What is going on here?”

Medical Saint Jin Yuan fell into contemplation for a moment and then slowly began to speak, ”Chief Lin, the matter of my acquaintance with your father goes back fifteen years!”

”Fifteen years ago?”

Lin Dong was startled; at that time, he was six years old. The incident in the Capital City happened twenty-one years ago, which meant that his father was still alive after that event.

Lin Dong was even more perplexed. If his father was alive, then why didn’t he come to find them, mother and son, at that time?

”How did he meet him?” Lin Dong urged once more.

Medical Saint Jin Yuan fell once again into reminiscence and began telling about his connection with Lin Zhantian.

”Fifteen years ago, I wasn’t the top practitioner of Eastern Medicine. At that time, I could at best be considered a somewhat famous Eastern Doctor.”

”My skills in the Medical Arts could barely place in the top ten. One day, I went to treat one of the tycoons from Kimchi Nation, but this tycoon was seriously ill, and even with all my medical expertise, I could not cure him.”

”As you know, Kimchi Nation is dominated by tycoons, and at the time I was just a somewhat reputable doctor. When the tycoon saw that I could not cure him and his condition worsened, he vented his anger on me, claiming I made him worse and threatened to kill me.”

”He gave me three days to cure him, saying that if I couldn’t cure him within three days, my life would also be at risk!”

”At that time, I was truly in despair, unable to eat or drink, and all I could think about was how to cure the tycoon. However, my medical skills were limited, and no matter how hard I thought about it, I couldn’t find a cure...”

”It was at this critical moment that the person who saved my life, your father Lin Zhantian, appeared. He gave me a prescription and told me to use it to treat the tycoon.”

”At that moment, having no other way out, though I didn’t understand his identity, I could only bet on this last chance.”

”Yet, after the tycoon took the medicine from the prescription, miraculously, he recovered. The ailment thought incurable was healed by my hands!”

”Out of gratitude, the tycoon asked what reward I desired. I quickly told him I wanted a ’Herb’ he had. That Herb was centuries old. This was what my benefactor, your father, specifically instructed me to acquire; his goal seemed to be that Herb...”

”Seeing that I had cured his illness, the tycoon readily gave me the Herb. And I, in turn, passed it on to your father.”

”That could have been the end of our connection. However, later on, I realized your father seemed to have been injured, so I earnestly requested that he stay at my residence for a while to heal his wounds. It appeared he was indeed seriously hurt, so he agreed.”

”He stayed in my residence for about a month. During that month, I learned a lot about medicine from him. Your father was truly a great healer; in my eyes, he was even more outstanding than the most eminent Immortal Doctor in the history of Kimchi Nation, Li Shizhong...”

”His casual teachings over that month helped me improve by leaps and bounds and laid the foundation for me to later become the top Eastern Doctor.”

”Even, I can say without exaggeration that my becoming the top practitioner of Eastern Medicine was all thanks to your father, my benefactor, Mr. Lin Zhantian!”

”He not only saved my life, making him my lifesaver but also taught me medicine, making him my mentor. I owe him a debt of gratitude that I can never repay in this lifetime... sigh...”

At this point, Lin Dong wasn’t concerned about Jin Yuan’s desire to repay favors; what he cared about was the whereabouts of his father.

He hastily asked, ”Later on, where did my father go? Can you contact him now? Where is he now?”

Lin Dong’s words had taken on an excited edge.

This was a rare display of emotion for him. Previously, even when facing the most formidable enemies, his emotions had never been so stirred.

He was desperate to know the whereabouts of his biological father.
