Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 301: A Dream State with Abnormal Spell Effects

“Big Sis Bai, you actually found me!”

I was both surprised and delighted by Big Sis Bai’s appearance.

Although it seemed like only a short while had passed, so much had happened—being separated from Big Sis Bai, the Nightmare’s attack, the Nightmare demon’s attack... and now our reunion.

“Mm.”

Big Sis Bai lightly waved the longsword in her hand, and the entire blade dissipated into motes of light.

Then, Bai Yu quickly arrived in front of me, “Little Han, are you okay? You scared me to death. When I realized you weren’t by my side just now, I... I...”

“It’s okay, it’s okay. See, aren’t things fine now?”

I didn’t know how to comfort Big Sis Bai at this moment, but this time I took the initiative to reach out and hug her.

“Hey, that strike Big Sis Bai made when you appeared was so cool. It’s the first time I’ve seen you like that.”

After hugging for a moment, I tried to change the subject.

“Mm, what? Are you envious, Little Han?”

“I am, that strike was so cool! But... I thought Big Sis Bai would use spells... I’ve never seen you use spells to fight before.”

“Spells... perhaps it was my initial prejudice. Spells... or rather, spellbooks, I still mostly see them as tools.”

Bai Yu shook her head and explained to me, “Little Han, when you first came into contact with spellbooks, did you ever feel like this? That this isn’t what you hoped spells would be—spells should be knowledge and skills to be learned and mastered, not just tools that can be swapped out at will.”

“Yes, I felt that way too,” I nodded.

“So, I, your Big Sis Bai, am also a physical arts practitioner to some extent. Anyway... as for spells, as long as you have a spellbook, you can use them normally after a little practice. That was my initial thought.”

“And... now?”

I asked knowingly, looking at Big Sis Bai.

Since she was now starting to value runes with me, that was enough of an answer.

“Of course, I value spells now. There are some things you can only see once you reach a certain level. Besides, if a witch isn’t proficient in spells but is instead proficient in physical arts, wouldn’t that be a joke?”

“But I would never laugh at Big Sis Bai. Big Sis Bai, when you have time later... how about you teach me physical arts?”

“Why? Little Han, you don’t need to practice physical arts, do you? You have such amazing talent for spells, you can’t waste it like this.”

“Eh? Don’t forget my mental power has no affinity. What kind of spell talent is that?”

“Little Han, you know what I’m talking about.”

“But that’s all unorthodox. Big Sis Bai, you know about the True Editing technique. That’s something that can only be learned at the transcendent level. What I’m doing now is just improving some negligible combat power.”

“Haha, the combat power others try so hard to improve, how did it become negligible in your mouth?”

Bai Yu chuckled and joked.

“It just is. The Witch Academy is naturally a place to learn knowledge and skills, not a place to learn how to hit people with tools. At least, that’s what I think.”

“That’s right. If only I had understood that as early as you did, it would have been great.”

Speaking of this, Big Sis Bai couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.

“Alright, let’s not waste time here. Let’s leave this place quickly. The commotion that guy caused just now was too big.”

“Mm, it was indeed too big.”

I nodded and followed Big Sis Bai out of there.

“By the way, who was that guy? Even though the Sleeping Curse has broken out in various academies, I have no impression of any academy having such methods.”

“It’s a Nightmare demon, and also the true reason for the deaths in this Nightmare Event. That being feeds on people’s vitality and even their soul-substance,” I explained.

“What? It eats soul-substance? Doesn’t that mean even the Resurrection Spell...”

Bai Yu immediately grasped the key point and asked.

“Pretty much,” I nodded.

For ordinary people whose life essence is still soul-substance, that was indeed the case.

Once the soul-substance was completely consumed, even the Resurrection Spell would be powerless.

At this moment, Bai Yu also truly felt a sense of crisis.

“Let’s not talk about this. Big Sis Bai, how did you find me so quickly?”

“Ah? Oh, with a search spell, of course.”

“Eh? There’s such a spell? This is the Dream State.”

“Of course.”

“Big Sis Bai, have you noticed that using spells here feels enhanced? When I used Fireball just now, one I casually conjured was as big as me.”

“Is that so? Then have you noticed that here, you can use spells even without a spellbook, just by casting with your bare hands?”

“Eh? I really haven’t tried.”

I vaguely remembered that when I tried to conjure a Fireball with my bare hands before, I could only produce a small flame, but now...

After trying again, I discovered that even without a spellbook, I could conjure a normal-sized Fireball just by using the spell!

“It’s real!”

“This place is truly magical. Or perhaps, this is what I had hoped for back then—learning spells, studying spells, using spells... If only a world like this really existed and wasn’t just a dream, how great would that be?”

“Who can say for sure? When we have the ability to roam the void in the future, we can go look and see if we can find such a world.”

“And then try to settle down there...”

“Eh? Big Sis Bai, why is the first thing you think of settling down?”

“Eh? When you encounter a scenery you like, isn’t the first thought whether you can live there?”

“That seems to be true, but if we settle down, we’ll miss out on other, more beautiful worlds. As expected, Big Sis Bai is still very prudent, thinking about living a peaceful daily life…”

“Is there anything wrong with that?”

“It’s good Of course, it’s very good. But by the time we have that ability, we’ll probably be senior transcendent witches, right? The lifespan of a transcendent witch is long. There will always be a time when we get tired of it.”

“That’s good too. Enjoying it until we’re tired of it, that will be a long, long time from now.”

“Alright...”

As I followed Big Sis Bai, walking aimlessly forward in search of a safe place, I was also thinking about other things.

Namely, the matter of that Nightmare demon from before.

It wasn’t that I couldn’t forget her seductive figure, but rather her ability to travel between the Dream State and reality.

This ability... reminded me of the dream spell Teacher Ji Niang had shown me, a spell that only transcendent witches were qualified to obtain, directly replacing cumbersome things like Dream State devices.

That spell seemed to be able to travel between the Dream State and reality too, right?

But the Nightmare demon seemed even more special.

But this also led to another question: which reality did this Dream State correspond to?

The Witch Academy?

Those Nightmare demons shouldn’t be able to travel between the reality of the Witch Academy and the Dream State.

The Academy Head also said that she had blocked them in time, and the abyssal demons couldn’t infiltrate the main world through the Dream State.

It seemed the relationship between the Dream State and reality was no longer a simple spatial overlap.

I had thought of the Dream State too simply.

Then... what was with the ruins here?

In the Dream State, I could see that the creations within it were illusory.

This was easy to distinguish.

The information fed back by Spirit Vision showed that dream creations and real matter were two completely different existences.

I had realized this during the Dream State exchange competition.

But this place... it felt as real as if it truly existed, yet also somewhat different. I knew very well that my consciousness existed within the Dream State, but... the surrounding environment...

Indeed... the Dream State was truly a magical place.

Along the way, we encountered Nightmares again.

I had let the previous Nightmare go when I was fighting that Nightmare demon.

I had originally wanted to study it and observe the existence of a Nightmare up close, but I wasn’t in the mood at that time, so I let it go.

Now that we met them again, I only advised Big Sis Bai to drive them away.

I didn’t want Big Sis Bai to get involved in the World Script.

Although... I had already seen several strands of destiny threads on Big Sis Bai.

But it didn’t matter... Big Sis Bai was about to become a transcendent witch.

After severing the Earth Vein Chains, these destiny threads wouldn’t be a hindrance.

But when I thought about what the Academy Head told me back then, that it was best not to touch the destiny threads, otherwise it would be very troublesome... I was still a little worried that this would hinder Big Sis Bai’s promotion to a transcendent witch.

But compared to that, I was more curious about where Big Sis Bai had gotten entangled with destiny threads...

Big Sis Bai wasn’t a Child of Destiny, nor did she have a Seed of Destiny.

Destiny couldn’t have appeared on her out of thin air; it must have been transferred from something she did.

But this kind of thing wasn’t easy to ask Big Sis Bai about directly.

“Hey Big Sis Bai, Big Sis Bai, in this kind of atmosphere, lighting a bonfire and waiting for the sunset, don’t you think...”

“Mm... but compared to that, I still hope you can quickly complete the thing you promised me. The Dream State is too dangerous. I can’t just let you stay here.”

“But I still have you, Big Sis Bai.”

“This...”

Bai Yu looked at me like this, and two thoughts constantly clashed in her mind.

One was the hope that Little Han would finish her business quickly and go back, not take risks.

The other was the hope that Little Han could always rely on her like this...

“That’s still not okay. I can’t protect you for a lifetime. What if? Don’t joke with your own life.”

But in the end, reason triumphed over desire.

“That’s true... Sorry for making Big Sis Bai worry about these things for me. Do you think if I hadn’t come to the Witch Academy in the first place, everything... would have been different?”

“There are no ifs, Little Han. There are no ifs.”

“I’m just thinking I know there are no ifs in the world... because looking back on this journey, I can’t imagine any other choice that would be better than the present.”

“Is that so? As long as you don’t regret it, Little Han, then everything is fine.”

“Alright, let’s not talk about such serious things. It’s rare to be in this kind of atmosphere. I wonder how we are in the outside world right now. Someone must have found us, right? Maybe we’re both lying in bed.”

“Indeed. But Little Han, your actions this time were still a bit... reckless. Without any preparation.”

“That’s true, but... to just do something when you think of it, to execute it, isn’t that pretty good too?”

“Indeed. So, Little Han, have you thought about what to do next? We can’t stay here forever. Even this place is just a temporary foothold we found.”

“Hehe… actually, regarding the current situation, I don’t know what to do either… but…”

But I knew what I had to do.

Stop the abyssal demons from obtaining destiny.

And when the Children of Destiny finished distributing the destiny, the Academy Head would help me sever the Earth Vein Chains.

Then, after I was excluded by the World Consciousness, I would use the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell on the Fool’s Dream, using the driving force of the World Script to completely sever the connection between the Fool’s Dream and the Nightmares.

Although there were many arrangements in this that I couldn’t accomplish alone, for example, I still didn’t know where the Academy Head had placed the Fool’s Dream.

I estimated that when the time was right, I would be able to see them.

At this moment, Bai Yu saw that I had paused and didn’t continue, and she understood that the rest was something that couldn’t be said.

“As long as you understand your own goals, it’s enough for me to just quietly watch over you by your side.”

“That’s why I say Big Sis Bai is the one who puts me most at ease... I really wish things could stay like this forever.”

The next day.

“Has Yang Yuehan still not contacted you? Big Sis Tan Han?”

“No… I sent her a message last night… she didn’t reply.”

Tan Han shook her head and sighed.

“How could Big Sis Xiao Han be like this? In my impression, she shouldn’t be this kind of person, right?”

“Forget it, everyone has their own ambitions. Not everyone likes trouble. You can’t force this kind of thing. Also, there’s another troublesome matter. Lucianne didn’t come either, and we can’t contact her now.”

Tan Han shook her head and comforted the indignant girl.

“Lucianne? She’s the one in Big Sis Xiao Han’s class, right? Could it be that Big Sis Xiao Han is even interfering with the choices of her own classmates?”

“It’s also possible she was afflicted by the Sleeping Curse beforehand...”

“It’s not impossible. We don’t know how one gets afflicted by that Sleeping Curse. I heard Lucianne had been visiting that friend of hers all along. She only came to me because she had no other choice, but looking at it now, it’s highly likely she’s been hit too.”

“Ah? This...”

“It’s okay, at least we’re still here.”

“Then Big Sis Tan Han, what should we do next? That so-called Sleeping Curse, we know nothing about it.”

“There will be a way.”

Tan Han looked at the time, and the next moment, a figure appeared in everyone’s sight.

“Teacher Lina,” Tan Han greeted politely amidst a crowd of confused emotions.

“Yo Quite a few people have come. Tan Han, it seems your determination is even greater than I expected.”

“Yes, Teacher Lina. I’ll have to trouble you.”

Tan Han said.

Only then did the crowd realize that Lina and Tan Han were actually working together!

And now, with the Director of the newcomer grade helping Tan Han stir up this matter, everyone felt a sense of relief, having the false impression that things were settled.

“I’ll take care of things with the Academy Head. The rest is up to you all. Really, to think that after living for so long, I’d still be fooling around with a bunch of you kids. Sigh…”

Lina followed them, shaking her head.

But from an angle no one noticed, a leisurely look flashed in Lina’s eyes, as if she were just playing along with them.

When they arrived at the infirmary, they saw a familiar figure lying there.

“It’s Lucianne. As expected, she was already…”

“W-wait, that, isn’t that Big Sis Xiao Han?”

“What?”
