Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 312: Attempting to Promote Transcendent Runes

“Wait… no? Was that really the power of a Grand Spellbook? Why does it feel like I just cast an Illumination Spell, with no special effects at all?”

At this moment, the Transcendent Witches who were looking forward to the Grand Spellbook test were already watching the scene as if it were a play.

But no Transcendent Witch responded to this question, and the awkward atmosphere immediately made this witch subconsciously shrink her neck.

After all, there were always Transcendent Witches who envied the Grand Spellbook and had an inexplicable admiration for it.

After all, what you can’t get is always the best.

But a Grand Spellbook was also just a spellbook.

No one ever stipulated that using a Grand Spellbook had to be the type with all special effects turned on.

At this moment, this Transcendent Witch also scratched her head a little awkwardly and left.

She thought that many witches would have the same doubts as her.

However, there were indeed many witches who had the same doubts as her, but they didn’t ask or agree as foolishly as she did.

It was important to understand what kind of existences were gathered here to watch the Grand Spellbook test.

Witches who were just watching the fun had no right to interject and comment.

This was the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell.

The name of a spell needed to reflect its effect most directly.

This was the unwritten rule of spell naming.

And the act of customizing a spell name was not something everyone was qualified to do.

It was either for self-entertainment, or you were powerful enough to be the rule itself.

In the Witch World, the Truth Witch sequence basically had such qualifications.

And for this Grand Spellbook, wisdom enlightenment was the essence of this spell.

“This is just a Grand Spellbook reacted by the Dream State, but it has achieved an effect similar to a real Grand Spellbook. The existence form of the Dream State seems to be more wonderful than we expected,” a Transcendent Witch, whose focus was on the Dream State, said.

“Haven’t you paid attention to that little one’s actions? What did she accomplish under the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell?”

Although this witch’s tone was questioning, she was guiding the attention of the other witches from the Grand Spellbook to the user.

“Memory Bookshelf Spellbook… I remember the usage threshold for this spellbook is quite high, right? It went unsold at that auction club for many years, and she bought it?”

“Good heavens, she’s treating Rune Rituals like a dictionary, isn’t she? With such means, she can be called a walking encyclopedia of Rune Rituals.”

At this moment, the witches were whispering to each other.

They hadn’t expected the first test of the Grand Spellbook to be so casual, so much so that many of the witches here hadn’t even had time to pay attention before it all seemed to be over.

“Mei… this tester you picked is really unconventional,” at this moment, a few Transcendent Witches who were closer to Academy Head Mei Linde came over to chat with Mei.

“Everyone has their own choices, and I can’t interfere with their thoughts,” Mei said with a smile.

She hadn’t expected that the student she was optimistic about would make such a decisive choice.

It had indeed caught her off guard, but everything was still within her expectations.

Even if Little Han wanted to learn and exchange Rune Rituals here, she wouldn’t say anything, only sighing that she was very good at seizing opportunities, and also very good at learning.

“But… after using the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, that spell ritual that the little one deduced… is it a nascent form of the Authority of the Dream State?”

As soon as these words were spoken, the surrounding Transcendent Witches who heard them fell silent.

Authority of the Dream State.

As soon as this term appeared, the witches thought of that very mysterious Truth Witch of Soul.

Wasn’t what that Truth Witch mastered the Authority of the Dream State?

It was a derivative source of power from the soul project.

When the Authority of the Dream State was given back to the entire Witch World by the Truth Witch of Soul in the form of a truth offering, the Authority of the Dream State had already become a power that witches were qualified to touch, from a concept that was once unattainable.

And the one who maximized its use was the Primal Witch.

The Primal Witch used the Authority of the Dream State to transform the Primal Dream State, which was how the Dream State platform that Transcendent Witches basically couldn’t do without today came to be.

Now, the term Authority of the Dream State appeared on a reserve witch who wasn’t even a Transcendent Witch.

How could this group of Transcendent Witches bear this?

Even if it was just a nascent form.

“Be rational, it’s just a fragment of a nascent form,” Mei Linde said at this moment, “Look clearly, it’s a spell that can only be used in a specific environment. It’s a spell, not a power that has transformed into an authority, and it’s not even a spellbook.”

But at this moment, Academy Head Mei Linde’s explanation made many witches even more unbearable.

Mei Linde didn’t firmly deny this view from the beginning, but simply pointed out a few points to prove that this was not a nascent form of the Authority of the Dream State!

What this represented, everyone present was very clear.

“I think this little girl is really pleasing to the eye. By the way, does she have a mentor?”

“I heard it’s a Transcendent Witch named Xi Lan. I went to poach her, but I didn’t succeed.”

“Xi Lan? Never heard of her. So she doesn’t have a mentor, right?”

“If you want that unformed spell sequence nascent form, just say so. What, you still want to be a mentor and then ask your student for things?”

“Alright, your True Five Senses don’t support you in mastering this. Just watch.”

At this moment, Mei Linde’s final words set the tone for this matter.

As for how many witches listened, that was hard to say.

…

“Huh? It’s… a very simple thing, why can’t I teach it?”

At this moment, I looked at the Rune Ritual to focus on Big Sis Bai’s hand with a troubled expression.

I originally thought that if I could use this means, then Big Sis Bai would definitely be able to learn it too.

After all, this means could ensure that we had an absolute advantage in the Dream State.

But reality gave me a slap in the face.

I found that I couldn’t teach Big Sis Bai!

“How can there be something in this world that can’t be taught?”

“Alright, Little Han, maybe Big Sis Bai is just stupid. I have many means to protect myself, so Little Han, you don’t have to worry. With you having this means, I’m very relieved,” at this moment, Bai Yu dispersed the complex runes on her hand and comforted me.

“Something must be wrong somewhere,” I sighed.

Such a failure was indeed a big blow to my self-confidence.

After all, I still had to teach the knowledge of Rune Rituals to the people here later.

Now that this had happened, I was starting to doubt my own teaching ability.

Actually, I could probably figure out the reason.

After all, this was a spell I had just mastered, and it was probably still in the ”laboratory stage.”

There was a lot of room for improvement, and many parts I couldn’t even express clearly in words.

And… this spell also relied heavily on the effect of Spirit Vision to achieve this level of ”rewriting” of the Dream State.

If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work… But after such a toss, the sky had also darkened.

Time passed bit by bit.

In the Dream State, we didn’t have the concept of hunger, but I still had a sumptuous dinner with Big Sis Bai.

Actually, we could have just gone to the hotel to get food.

The food we took wouldn’t affect the people in reality from getting food.

But I used the Dream Rewrite Spell to create this sumptuous dinner.

”Dream Rewrite Spell” was the name I gave to the spell I created, but it was not a Primal Spell Sequence, which meant that I seemed to have unintentionally completed a feat that others had already completed, or… this spell had not been perfected, and strictly speaking, it didn’t belong to a spell sequence?

In short, as long as this spell was useful, I didn’t care about these things.

The creation of this spell, in addition to providing me with safety and protection at this moment, its most important meaning was a kind of revelation, a way of thinking, an attitude towards the world, and a means of coping.

You could say that this means was useless and that its creation was even a coincidence, but such a coincidence, when I was in other environments, I could keep creating it.

This was the revelation that this spell brought me, to be good at using the environment, especially such a special environment.

Finally, at night.

I shamelessly stayed in Big Sis Bai’s room.

The excuse I found was also very clumsy, which was that this was the room we had arranged, so I would sleep here.

It could be said that this should be considered truly sharing a bed with Big Sis Bai, right?

Thinking back, the first time, Big Sis Bai ran away, and then in the Fool’s Village secret realm, but we slept in a tent.

This time, we were sleeping in a bed.

But on second thought… this time it was in the Dream State… it seems it wasn’t really sharing a bed either…

At night, I lay on my side on the bed and looked at Big Sis Bai’s back.

Well… this seems pretty good too…

As the new day began, I put a lot of my energy into perfecting this newly created spell.

This was a spell I had made purely by hand, so the treatment was naturally different.

Of course, living here, we would inevitably come into contact with other outsiders who were also settled here.

After all, in this Ninglan New City, we were the same kind of people, all outsiders.

But I found that many of the outsiders I came into contact with were not from the Witch Academy.

Actually, I didn’t care even if they were all from the Witch Academy.

I just greeted them, and it was the kind of casual greeting.

And my focus at this moment had gradually shifted to the Extraordinary Technology Research Association.

Although the president hadn’t given me a reply yet, I had already started to spontaneously promote my transcendent knowledge related to Rune Rituals there.

Coupled with my identity as an outsider and my curiosity about new knowledge, I had barely managed to gather a group of ”like-minded people” who loved this aspect.

Although many people stopped to watch curiously every time I spoke there, I understood that not many of them were truly curious about Rune Rituals and decided to learn them.

Most of them were just listening for fun.

And I also received a complaint about disturbing the public by gathering a crowd in a public place.

Not everyone liked this form, it was like a street speech.

It was only with Big Sis Bai’s encouragement that I had this kind of courage, even though… I was the one who proposed this idea.

But an idea that was proposed had to be implemented and practiced.

This was a difficulty that had to be overcome on the way to achieving the Unity of Knowledge and Action.

The Unity of Knowledge and Action was easy to say, but to practice it would be full of difficulties.

And when I was talking about Runology, I also noticed that there were always a few regular customers in these sessions.

And the one who impressed me the most was Ninglan Qiuyue, the young girl who was with the president before, and also the daughter of the city lord.

I didn’t expect her to be so supportive and humbly learn what I was talking about.

Even while standing, she would take notes in a small notebook bit by bit.

Of course, she was also the one who helped us suppress the matter of the complaint to the association and informed me about it.

These days continued until the president brought me good news.

He had already had a conversation with the city lord and agreed with my idea.

And this president also provided me with a teaching venue and promotion related to Rune Rituals.

And I also immediately gave a formal explanation on the relevant aspects of Rune Rituals, or perhaps… a lecture?

In short, the form was not the point.

The point was to attract like-minded people who were willing to learn.

And my personal lectures were by no means the main way to spread the content of Rune Rituals.

There were also recorded teaching videos, introductory books printed in booklets like extraordinary skills, etc.

These were the main ways for them to learn.

I couldn’t be expected to bear everything myself, right?

I didn’t have the energy.

Those who were interested would naturally learn through the channels I provided.

For those who were not interested and just watching, it would be useless no matter how many of my classes they attended.

And I wanted to learn from them, not to give them extra lessons out of kindness.

“Teacher, I would like to ask, what is the advantage of your transcendent runes compared to our extraordinary inscriptions?”

“There are no advantages or disadvantages. They are essentially the same thing, but the runes I’m talking about are a more systematic…”

“Since they are the same thing, why do you have to distinguish them with such a sense of superiority? In my opinion, your runes are just useless decorative symbols, unlike our inscriptions, each of which has its unique meaning without those long-winded nonsense.”

“Oh, what are you trying to express?”

I looked indifferently at the person who stood up in the back row to find fault and asked.

This kind of fault-finding behavior was actually not the first time, and this person was not the first one.

“I just want to tell you outsiders, don’t always think you’re so great. Is it fun to trick us with those obscure terms? Do you know what is essence and what is dross? What’s the point of what you’re talking about now, other than throwing those confusing and difficult problems at us? It’s all empty and useless stuff. What’s the use of talking about these false and empty things other than satisfying your sense of superiority and that vanity…”

“Enough, if you don’t want to listen, then leave.”

At this moment, a female voice sounded, and the place instantly became silent, because the person who spoke was Ninglan Qiuyue, an existence that no one in Ninglan New City dared to provoke.

“Get him out of here. People like him are never welcome here.”

As someone spontaneously took this person away, this person still relentlessly made threats.

“I’m telling you, you can’t fool me with such a small trick! You don’t know what extraordinary is! You don’t know what inscriptions are…”

I watched as that person was taken away, and a ripple still arose in my heart, but this emotion was quickly suppressed by me.

Unable to accept new things.

I had long expected that teaching transcendent runes would encounter resistance, but I didn’t expect it to be such an existence.

The more cognitively low a person was, the more absolute their thoughts were.

They didn’t have the magnanimity to accommodate other people’s opinions or ideas.

And such people were mostly those whose lives were not going well and who wanted to rely on extraordinary skills to achieve a leap.

But even when learning extraordinary skills, they were still so stubborn… I could only say that this was all he deserved.

The more ignorant a person was, the more arrogant they were.

An arrogant personality would only lead to self-destruction, without me even needing to do anything.

If my heart was shaken by this person’s words, that would be my immaturity.

But I could remember his words, or rather, use them as a reference, because I was very clear that the crowd I was facing now seemed to be mostly similar to that person, just that that person was more extreme.

“Let’s continue. We’ll still use the Fireball spell ritual as an example. When we try to interpret runes in other ways, such as chanting, this is another way to express runes, just like how you use inscriptions, using the method of engraving on materials…”
