Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 607: Chapter 252 Old Yang_3

”Over time, those three families will only grow stronger while we grow weaker. It’s very disadvantageous for us.”

”And besides, it’s not just us who aren’t taking in outsiders. Li Yuefeng’s group also doesn’t take in anyone; they only want women.”

”Tian Wei only wants able-bodied adults, no families with children.”

”Martial King Pavilion, don’t let Wu Meng’s righteous talk fool you. How many outsiders have they accepted? Not many either.”

”In the end, it’s still the original group that climbed the mountain. How much food and drink do they have? How many people can they support?”

Liang Yuan recalled that indeed, there weren’t many people in Martial King Pavilion.

Most of them were also fit and strong adults.

He suddenly remembered what Zhuang Shuyuan and Wu Meng said at Gouwu Pavilion.

It seemed Wu Meng didn’t manage the shelter operations at Martial King Pavilion.

Maybe it wasn’t Wu Meng who decided to accept outsiders, but the noble-looking Zhuang Shuyuan?

Could it be that she also refused to aid outsiders because of the scarcity of resources?

Liang Yuan thought it was quite possible.

Zhuang Shuyuan, that woman, looked smart and probably was a self-serving person.

Such a woman definitely wouldn’t be unselfish enough to accept just anyone.

As they spoke, Ding Yan led a little old man in his sixties over.

The old man looked clean, with gray hair, somewhat well-off, and didn’t quite seem to belong to the people from Phoenix Temple.

He walked along, asking Ding Yan, ”Girl, is your Mr. Liang easy to talk to? I can make Bursting Runes, can my treatment be a little better?”

”I am considered a technical talent after all. Our country even has support for talents. Does your shelter not have it?”

Ding Yan frowned, feeling annoyed by the old man’s babbling.

”Shut up.”

She snapped, and the old man immediately shrank his neck and muttered, ”Such a fierce girl.”

Soon, he was led to the Bamboo House.

From a distance, he saw Tu Long lying on the ground and showed a startled expression.

He then looked at the young man standing in front of Tu Long.

His first reaction was that this person was too young.

Liang Yuan sensed his gaze and looked back.

The old man quickly averted his eyes and followed Ding Yan to the spot.

Ding Yan said, ”Got him here, Yang Mei, take a look.”

Yang Mei quickly looked over, immediately showing an expression of surprise: ”Uncle! Uncle Lin!”

Old Yang looked up and was also taken aback: ”Xiaoyang Mei? Why... why are you here?”

Yang Mei, full of joy, quickly walked over, grabbing Old Yang’s arm excitedly: ”Uncle Lin, it’s really you! Why... why are you in Yangshan? Shouldn’t you be in Meishan? Do you know how my parents are?”

Old Yang’s face was also full of excitement: ”Xiaoyang Mei, I’m confused too. Do you remember my son Yang Xiong?”

”Brother Xiong? Of course, I remember. What happened?”

”Didn’t he earn some money outside? He bought a house in Yangshan and brought me over, saying he’d take care of me in my old age, and wanted me to help with his baby.”

”I had no choice but to move from Meishan Village. Who would’ve thought that just after we moved, his wife couldn’t stand me.”

”When I went to dance in the square, she accused me of being indecent with some old lady, calling me lecherous.”

”As an old man, can’t I have a second spring? Is she not filial or what?”

”Uh...”

Yang Mei was a bit embarrassed and quickly changed the topic: ”Uncle Lin, during the flood, didn’t Brother Xiong’s family stay with you?”

Old Yang angrily said, ”Before the flood, my daughter-in-law argued with Da Xiong and went back home with the baby. My son was angry with me, thinking I was causing trouble, and didn’t stay with me either.”

”So I was living alone in Yangshan. When the flood came, I wanted to return to Meishan Village, but the traffic was paralyzed and I couldn’t go back.”

”I waited in Yangshan for a month, the rain didn’t stop, the flood got worse, the building was in chaos, people started looting, and moving to Yangshan.”

”The flood reached the third floor. I didn’t dare stay home and joined a few old dancing buddies to make a raft and headed to Yangshan.”

”Confusedly, I ended up joining Director Hong’s team and settled in Phoenix Temple.”

Liang Yuan listened and roughly understood.

This old man joined the refugee team halfway and later fell in with Tu Long’s group.

At that time, Hong Fu was probably in charge. He was a former street director and had some influence.

Later in Yangshan, many things happened, and people started to awaken superpowers.

Old Yang awakened the Imitation superpower at that time.

At first, his superpower was considered useless by Hong Fu and the others.

Old Yang had no choice but to rely on his relatively good constitution after awakening to help mine.

Later, the military disclosed Rune Technology, and Hong Fu and Tu Long managed to find a Bursting Rune, for which they even fought with Martial King Pavilion.

After obtaining the Bursting Rune, Hong Fu and Tu Long studied it for a long time without figuring it out.

It was Hong Fu who came up with the idea to have all the superpower users at Phoenix Temple follow the method broadcasted by the military to try to make Talisman Stones.

No one at Phoenix Temple could figure it out, but it was Old Yang’s Imitation superpower that cracked it.

After that, Old Yang was treasured by Hong Fu and the others.

Worried that he might escape, they confined him in a cave, forcing him to make Talisman Stones.

Initially, they controlled him through intimidation and beatings, but Old Yang had a stubborn temper and preferred to commit suicide rather than comply.

Hong Fu and Tu Long had to change tactics, with one pretending to be a good cop and the other a bad cop, coaxing and deceiving Old Yang.

Since then, Old Yang enjoyed good food and drink in the cave, being served by Hong Fu and Tu Long, even more comfortably than being cared for by his son Yang Xiong.

The only thing Old Yang was dissatisfied with was probably the lack of elderly companions to chat and dance with.
