The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 798: Chapter 745: As Wished

As Huangfu Yuxuan predicted, the Emperor hesitated for a time over who to appoint as the Heir of King Liang, but upon learning that Huangfu Yuxuan had become the son-in-law of Grand Tutor Zhao, he finally agreed!

Naturally, regarding this critical juncture, Huangfu Yuxuan’s proposal to Miss Zhao, the Emperor was not pleased.

However, the Hidden Guard in the palace reported the previous events to him; it turned out that it was because of an incident between the two in the Prince Ning Mansion, making Huangfu Yuxuan compelled to propose, the Emperor then dispelled his doubts. Moreover, he graciously bestowed the marriage.

Henceforth, the marriage between Huangfu Yuxuan and Zhao Keyan was settled firmly, leaving no room for backtracking.

Furthermore, Huangfu Yuxuan had already revealed all his capabilities to Grand Tutor Zhao, needing his wholehearted support. Now, how could he dig a pit for himself?

The imperial decree conferring the title of Princely Heir was issued promptly, arriving at the Prince Liang Mansion on the third day.

The Second Young Master of Prince Liang Mansion donned the attire of a princely heir and went to the palace to express gratitude.

Prince Liang and the Elder Young Master of Prince Liang Mansion, Huangfu Hongyi, both wore smiles, yet those smiles always seemed forced. Huangfu Yuxuan bluntly addressed the two: ”Are you displeased in your hearts?”

Huangfu Hongyi, upon encountering Huangfu Yuxuan’s gaze, immediately felt uneasy, a deep-seated fear and terror suddenly seizing him. He hurriedly shook his head, with a smiling face, ”No, no... no such thing!”

Huangfu Yuxuan squinted his eyes, his gaze landing on Prince Liang’s face.

Prince Liang held a proud posture, contemplating that he was nonetheless the father, was it necessary to show timidity and fear toward his own son? He stiffened his neck and spoke, feigning authority but inwardly insecure, ”Does it matter whether we are willing or not? It’s not that you care either.”

Huangfu Yuxuan smiled, coolly saying, ”Father, where are those words from? Since I am the princely heir of Prince Liang Mansion, the future and hopes of Prince Liang Mansion rest on my shoulders alone. If Father and Elder Brother are unwilling, then we cannot be of one mind. If we cannot be of one mind, surely some covert tricks will come to pass! I, for one, am least afraid of people executing little tricks against me, for dealing with such individuals leaves me without psychological burden!”

His smile grew more gracious and pleasant, yet more refined and respectful, ”So Father, it’s best not to give me such an opportunity. After all, patricide and fraternal conflict are entertaining to outsiders, but when it falls upon oneself, it can be very brutal!”

Such threats froze Prince Liang’s expression.

Others may not know the disposition of this son, but he is well aware.

Otherwise, why would he establish this son as heir? His choice was clearly the eldest son.

Yet the sharp gaze and ruthless threats, now upon reflection, still made him break out in cold sweats.

He suddenly felt that perhaps letting Huangfu Yuxuan contend with the title of princely heir was also good, that the future of Prince Liang Mansion should be entrusted to Huangfu Yuxuan, while he and Hongyi could simply focus on enjoying life!

Huangfu Yuxuan enjoys stirring things up, let him be!

Seeing Prince Liang and Huangfu Hongyi avoiding his gaze, Huangfu Yuxuan knew they dared not continue to challenge him. In truth, he never regarded these two with much importance initially.

He extended his arms, the attire of the princely heir meticulously crafted, though he usually adorned brocade clothes, this attire seemed even more dignified.

He smiled at Prince Liang, ”In any case, much thanks to Father!”

Prince Liang forced a reply, ”Congratulations, son, not only for gaining the title of princely heir but also settling a marriage, with Grand Tutor Zhao’s daughter becoming your wife, a union of talent and beauty, surely becoming a celebrated tale!”

A hint of disdain flickered deep in Huangfu Yuxuan’s eyes, the phrase union of talent and beauty, he’d heard far too often these days, yet it was not to his liking.

He snorted softly, the joy in his heart seeming diminished.

Grandfather’s bestowed marriage, the wedding date set, glorious without bounds, yet the heart remains invariably a bit dissatisfied.

He had no intention to spar further with Prince Liang and Huangfu Hongyi, with a flick of his sleeve, he headed toward his study.

Prince Liang watched him leave, breathing a sigh of relief, Huangfu Hongyi directly slumping into a chair, fanning himself with his sleeve, his robust and plump body having sweated profusely from Huangfu Yuxuan’s gaze!

He even thought, perhaps it’s for the best, what of being a princely heir anyway? Isn’t it all just about enjoyment? Without being the heir, he still holds wealth and prosperity, Grandfather wouldn’t let him go hungry!

When his father was Crown Prince, he hadn’t thought of improvement.

Now that his father is merely Prince Liang, what use is any advancement?
