The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 785: Chapter 740: Then Let Her Disappear_3

So, with a stern expression and righteous words, he said: ”Miss Zhao, if someone has schemed against me and dragged you into it, I sincerely apologize!” Saying this, he clasped his hands and bowed deeply, his expression even earnest.

”That’s it?” Zhao Hua was dumbfounded!

Zhao Keyan covered her face on the couch, seemingly too ashamed to show herself. Hearing Huangfu Yuxuan’s words, she grew anxious and started to cry.

Huangfu Yuxuan straightened up, looking as if he was about to leave.

Zhao Hua hurriedly stepped forward, blocking his way, and said: ”Young Master Xuan, please stay!”

Huangfu Yuxuan stopped and said: ”Does Mr. Zhao have something to say?”

Zhao Hua said: ”Regardless of how it happened, it happened already. Doesn’t Young Master Xuan need to take responsibility?”

Finally, he said it. Huangfu Yuxuan felt a chill in his heart, but it didn’t show on his face. Instead, he looked troubled, sighed, and said: ”Mr. Zhao, I didn’t wish for this to happen either. As a man, I should take responsibility! However, I’ve already got a marriage contract, plus, I’m also a victim here. If I do this, wouldn’t I be betraying my fiancée?”

Zhao Hua’s expression turned slightly grim, and he said in a cold tone: ”Young Master Xuan, do you know who your fiancée is? I’ll go talk to her!”

Huangfu Yuxuan: ”...”

His expression soured as well, was this trying to force him into marriage? What a joke! How could Huangfu Yuxuan be coerced into marriage?

He was about to speak when Wei Jian interjected: ”This matter is too sudden. Rest assured, Mr. Zhao, Miss Zhao will not be wronged. As for who our young cousin is betrothed to, there’s no need for Mr. Zhao to worry. We will handle this matter!”

If it’s truly the niece of the Prime Minister’s Mansion, if she doesn’t agree to dissolve the engagement, then she’ll just have to disappear.

Huangfu Yuxuan shot a cold glare at Wei Jian. How dare he decide for him?

Zhao Hua, however, firmly said: ”I want to know who has a marriage contract with Young Master Xuan. Is it the rumored niece of Prime Minister Xia in the Capital City?” He had heard those rumors too. After all, Zhao Keyan cried in her room for a whole night after hearing it.

His heart skipped a beat. Could it be that his sister devised this plan after learning the news, aiming to cook rice and make the marriage happen with Young Master Xuan?

Huangfu Yuxuan sighed heavily: ”Since you already know, shouldn’t you refrain from forcing someone?”

Zhao Hua’s expression darkened. The situation was already like this, with his sister’s reputation at stake, there’s no reason to let it go to waste. His gaze fell on Mrs. Xia and the Xia Brothers. Though he appeared polite, his tone was detached and cold: ”Mrs. Xia, is this true?”

Mrs. Xia felt somewhat displeased with Zhao Hua’s high-handed attitude. However, being dignified and elegant by nature, she wouldn’t lose composure over such a small matter. She responded indifferently: ”Young Master Xuan, perhaps you remember incorrectly? My niece is still in the boudoir, with no engagement to anyone!”

The crowd was again in a stir. This rumor had been going around the Capital for days, with many knowing about it, yet Mrs. Xia denied it?

So is it a rumor, or is someone lying?

Zhao Hua thought Mrs. Xia answered this way out of practicality, feeling pleased with the response. In truth, Mrs. Xia cherished Xia Wenjin like a daughter and had asked her if she was engaged. Xia Wenjin openly told her she wasn’t but had someone in mind, who was Prince Cheng’s Heir.

At this moment, Mrs. Xia wished she could seal Huangfu Yuxuan’s mouth. Claiming a marriage contract with Wenjin is tantamount to discrediting her!

For a girl’s family, reputation is most important. If Huangfu Yuxuan were truly a gentleman, how could he say such a thing?

Zhao Hua was satisfied, but Huangfu Yuxuan was not. He frowned and said: ”Mrs. Xia, this is between Wenjin and me, you’re unaware!”

Mrs. Xia said calmly: ”Isn’t this simple? Wenjin is here today, let’s call her over and ask!”

Zhao Hua immediately instructed a servant at the door: ”Please fetch Miss Xia!”

Huangfu Yuxuan felt anxious. He knew how much Xia Wenjin despised him. If she came to confront him, she’d surely deny it. Besides, although Xia Wanqing, that rough man, let him stay in Haotian Village for so long and was prepared to accept him as a son-in-law, they never had any marriage documents.

His expression darkened as he said: ”Mr. Zhao, aren’t you being too aggressive? I already said I’m a victim as well. I can handle this alone, why bother Miss Xia?”
