The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 350: Chapter 350: A True Playboy?

”Huangfu Jinxuan caught the meaning, turned to look at Huangfu Jingchen, his eyes full of suspicion: ’The emperor Ping’s decree, though later removed from the Nanxia Law Code, if someone remembers it and brings it up, Lord Shang will undoubtedly be doomed, am I right?’

Huangfu Jingchen glanced at him indifferently, his expression half amused: ’Hmm!’

During his month in the Capital City, he met Huangfu Jinxuan twice.

The image was that of a little devil, an incorrigible playboy beyond saving, whose mention made others shy away.

At imperial palace banquets, officials would steer clear of wherever he passed.

After all, nobody knew whether this little devil would cause trouble for them, or take a liking to their adornments or family businesses and seize them.

And he was someone who would receive reprimands from both King Kang and the Crown Prince upon meeting, yet remained completely unbothered.

A lawless aristocrat.

Yet at the time, Huangfu Jingchen found him quite interesting.

Taking over others’ businesses, seizing their ornaments, making people grit their teeth in hate, those matters, silver can solve.

Harming others’ sons, bullying households, silver can solve those too.

During that month, random tales would reach his ears; eight out of ten were stories of Huangfu Jinxuan’s aristocratic exploits and the trouble he stirred, endless and unrecordable, causing quite a stir. It was said only when King Kang grounded him, the streets of the Capital City would have peace.

But thinking carefully, he was a wanton rogue, causing more trouble than eating meals.

He’d beat people bloodied, ride horses through the streets, a string of civilians suffered at his hands, and he got pulled by the ears to kneel by King Kang, while Prince Kang Mansion’s servants went to apologize, compensating silver at every residence. It was atrocious, yet never resulted in a death!

If he truly were a merciless demon king, he’d manage to limit his trouble-making right to the edge.

Understanding the serious consequences of the slight discrepancies in reporting procedures and the revisions in the Nanxia Law Code, Huangfu Jinxuan was beyond perceptive!

This depth and insight, could it come from a brainless cruel aristocrat?

This man is hiding something deep, perhaps with bigger ambitions?

What are his bigger ambitions? The position of Crown Prince or something higher? After all, King Kang’s father is Grandpa’s legitimate brother!

Huangfu Jinxuan was taken aback by his glance, especially at the appraisal in his eyes, a chill seemingly streamed from his gaze, piercing straight to his heart.

He then clenched his brows, revealing a smile.

This smile was no longer the frivolous one masked under aristocratic rebellion, just a plain, average smile. He said, ’Lord Shang, I will write to my father, asking him to come up with a way. My grandfather left a stern order before he died, the sequence of legitimate heirs must not be disrupted, brotherly affection must not be severed! As descendants of the Huangfu family, we must be mindful of our duty! Although I’m not competent, often making father angry, Lord Shang is a good official, and I believe father will do his utmost!’

Huangfu Jingchen averted his gaze, chuckling lightly, aristocratic playboy, mischievous devil?

In just one glance, Huangfu Jinxuan discerned his stirring thoughts, what grandfather’s stern order? The sequence of legitimate heirs must not be disrupted, brotherly affection must not be severed!

Such insight, such acuity, truly a capable Second Young Master of Prince Kang Mansion!

This chuckle left Lord Shang somewhat puzzled, for he was unaware of the silent encounter between Huangfu Jingchen and Huangfu Jinxuan that had just transpired.

Of course, it wouldn’t count as an encounter, just a small collision perhaps!

He couldn’t help but look up, and though he had come to terms, Young Master Jing’s laughter still stung. Could he not at least appear a bit mournful, show some sympathy to a soon-to-die man?

As he gazed upward, he was met with Huangfu Jingchen’s vast, limitless gaze, his eyes as deep as the ocean, his voice carrying a sharp edge: ’I never treat people as pawns, if you manage this step, I won’t let you die!’

Huangfu Jinxuan said recklessly, ’Is this rotten idea from Brother Zheng?’

His straightforwardness left even Lord Shang unsure how to respond.

Huangfu Jingchen didn’t mind and said, ’It’s from me, and it’s not a rotten idea.’

Huangfu Jinxuan nodded in concurrence: ’Indeed, if not for this, overturning the chamber pot would’ve been worse, now it’s not about me. Just a bit rough on Lord Shang!’ He turned to pat Lord Shang on the shoulder, saying sympathetically: ’Lord Shang, rest assured, I will look after your family on your behalf!’

Lord Shang: ’...’

Huangfu Jingchen glanced at him speechlessly: ’Shut up, I’ve said there won’t be any problem!’

Lord Shang was startled, the Second Young Master being an imperial envoy, Young Master Jing’s ”shut up” was truly a resounding command, what on earth was his true status? Aside from the imperial envoy identity, his status as the Imperial Nephew is also revered, could someone like him be rebuked?

Has there been any less conflict arising from tongue flaps and disputes incited by defiance?

Or perhaps, the young still brimming with vigor, recklessly brave like newborn calves unafraid of tigers?

Huangfu Jinxuan, with less concern for those two words, said unceremoniously: ’Brother Zheng, it’s not that I’m fearing shadows, I’m not raising alarm beyond its bounds. You know, many old guys in the court are afraid of chaos. Without giving them leverage, they still won’t stop their noise, provide them with leverage, and they’ll argue day and night. This matter of Lord Shang, don’t be overly optimistic, I bet on it, surely someone will make a play of it!’

Huangfu Jingchen said slowly: ’So what?’

’If someone really raises it in court, what then?’

Huangfu Jingchen smiled, at this moment Xia Wenjin standing by the window turned to capture this smile entirely.

This wasn’t the clean, warm smile of a youth; this smile carried assurance, carefreeness, and even an aura of looking down on the world.

Such demeanor seemed innate, impossible to overlook, yet restrained, not overly sharp.

He didn’t look at Huangfu Jinxuan but turned to Lord Shang, with a gaze steady and sure, spoke every word for Shang to hear: ’Even if someone takes this matter to court, even if everyone thinks Lord Shang committed an unforgivable offense, he will be safe!’

Huangfu Jinxuan widened his eyes once more, these words were overly certain, not only certain but remarkably clear, indicating he had already anticipated everything, and he murmured: ’You have...already made arrangements?’

Huangfu Jingchen smiled and said: ’Hmm!’

Huangfu Jinxuan’s gossiping nature inflated instantly, eagerly asking: ’Can you share a hint?’
