The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Outstanding Debts

First force her to hand over the antidote. If she doesn’t, make sure she suffers.

Ming Qing, with his life at stake at this moment, suppressed his most despicable thoughts.

Xia Wenjin pushed open the window.

The monks froze, was she going to jump out the window to kill herself?

Ming Qing shouted urgently, ”Seize her, don’t let her jump!”

Amidst the chaos, the courtyard door was suddenly kicked open with a bang, and a group of people rushed in.

Someone shouted sternly, ”Stop!”

Xia Wenjin, already half outside the window, heard the voice and unexpectedly drew back inside. She saw Abbott Master Ming Cheng leading Hall Master Ming Xuan and seven or eight monks who entered together.

Behind them, a person leisurely followed and said in surprise, ”What’s going on here? Wasn’t it said that not even a glance should be cast upon the Fertility Zen Temple? How come so many high monks have suddenly arrived?”

Xia Wenjin shouted, ”The monks of Shian Temple use the name of fertility to corrupt the chastity of women. There is no Bodhisattva to deliver children, just a place for their licentious pleasures that destroy innocence! There is a secret room in this chamber, and at midnight, several monks would come. Those poor women called out to heaven and earth, but their cries were in vain, left only as playthings for them!”

Her words were like a thunderbolt.

At that moment, Xia Wenjin appeared in a sorry state, wounded, her hair disheveled and half down, tightly clutching a short dagger. One look was enough to know she was a victim.

Ming Cheng’s skeletal face darkened immediately, his anger spreading, his gaze sweeping across the monks in the room as he sternly said, ”This pure land of the Buddhist Sect cannot tolerate your reckless actions, desecrating the Bodhisattva!”

Ming Qing’s venomous eyes were fixed on Xia Wenjin, this malicious woman had poisoned the candle, making it impossible for the three of them to use martial force now.

Otherwise, what would it matter if Ming Cheng came?

But even now, they were not afraid.

Ming Qing glanced at Xia Wenjin, then turned to Ming Cheng and said, ”The Abbott has arrived!”

This statement was very bland, with neither respect nor greeting intended.

Ming Cheng’s eyes gleamed, glaring at Ming Qing, ”Is it true as this lady says, that you are engaging in such heinous acts?”

Ming Qing borrowed strength from Ming Ze to stand up. Although the three couldn’t use their inner strength at the moment, they all stood, forming a triangle, with Ming Ze and Ming Xi guarding Ming Qing, surrounded by eighteen monks wielding various weapons, their momentum not weak.

Ming Qing gave Ming Cheng a glance and said, ”Why be angry, Abbott Brother? What we’re doing isn’t against conscience; on the contrary, we’ve blessed those without children with children, allowing couples to bind their relationship with children. It’s a great merit!”

Ming Cheng was shaking with anger. Already thin, his body trembled like a leaf in the autumn breeze, making one feel that his bones might fall apart at any moment, and gave people a fright!

Ming Cheng shouted harshly, ”So it is true, the destruction of virtue, the ruin of innocence!”

Originally, he was practicing Suffer Zen in a cave. After the lottery, there were no major events. Even if something happened at the temple, First Seat Ming Qing would handle it, allowing him to cultivate for half a year without concern.

However, just two days later, Master Kong Chan appeared in his practice Zen Cave.

Though it was a cave, it wasn’t small and was about the size of two Zen Rooms, only equipped with basic furniture, making the space seem large. Kong Chan glanced around and said something had happened at the temple.

Ming Cheng, a man with his mind set only on reading scriptures, glanced at Kong Chan, asked nothing, and followed him out of seclusion.

Kong Chan told him to call more people, so Ming Cheng called Ming Xuan and asked him to bring some people along.

On the way, he didn’t ask any questions, nor did Ming Xuan. Kong Chan was surprised, seeing their calm expressions, and couldn’t hold back, ”Do you know what’s happened?”

Ming Cheng raised a hand in greeting and said, ”Master from Bodhi Temple, profound in Buddhist Law and serenely enlightened. He wouldn’t disturb one in meditation without reason. Since he has entered my Suffer Zen Room, it must be a significant matter. As for what matter, it will be clear once seen!”

Kong Chan looked at Ming Xuan, who was also practicing Suffer Zen, appearing just as thin but with a noticeable sharpness in his eyes. A man of just bones, yet light-footed and spirited.

In contrast to Ming Cheng’s composed serenity, Ming Xuan seemed much sharper.

Thus, they arrived outside the Child-giving Zen Temple, saw the courtyard door wide open, and the bright lights inside, which made Ming Cheng frown immediately.

Ming Xuan, as Hall Master, though practicing Suffer Zen, managed the forum assembly’s lecturing duties and had more sources of information about the temple’s matters. Knowing what this place was, and seeing such a spectacle, his face changed first.

The moment Xia Wenjin’s voice was heard, what wasn’t clear anymore?

Kong Chan called to Xia Wenjin, ”Are you okay?”

Xia Wenjin said, ”For the moment, yes!”

Kong Chan bragged, ”If I hadn’t come, could you have held on?”

Xia Wenjin said, ”No, didn’t you see I was about to jump off a cliff?”

Kong Chan grinned widely, ”Then you owe me a life!”

Xia Wenjin said perfunctorily, ”Yes, yes, owe it, for now!”

While Ming Cheng and Ming Qing were at swords’ points, Kong Chan’s words were indeed speechless. But since he was a high monk from Bodhi Temple, no one found it inappropriate. Especially Ming Cheng and Ming Xuan, who even showed admiration.

The world knows the higher the monk from Bodhi Temple achieves enlightenment, the more eccentric they sometimes appear. Who in the world doesn’t know the story of the Abbott Master Xu Yun over six hundred years ago?

Ming Qing didn’t take Ming Cheng’s questioning to heart at all, and he sneered, ”Ming Cheng Brother, anyone in the entire temple can hold me accountable, except you!”

Ming Cheng said, ”Why?”

Ming Qing looked at him with disdain and said, ”You tell me, five years ago, what was Shian Temple like?”

Ming Cheng slowly said, ”One main hall, two side halls, several monk quarters!”

”How was the incense?”

”The incense was scant!”

”What about the monks?”

”Under fifty!”

Ming Qing declared proudly, ”How is it now?”

Ming Cheng answered honestly, ”One main hall, Bodhisattva remodeled with gold, ten side halls, countless Zen temples, the number of monks increased tenfold, incense thriving!”

Ming Qing sneered more proudly, glaring at Ming Cheng, ”As the Abbott, honestly speaking, is this your achievement?”

Ming Cheng frowned, ”It’s not!”

Ming Qing pressed, ”If it weren’t for me, could Shian Temple have this scale today? Could it have so many followers? So much incense?”

Ming Cheng frowned, ”No, it couldn’t!”

”As the Abbott, you let the Buddhist temple decay, the Bodhisattva gather dust, the incense thin, barely making ends meet, and the monks almost deserted. What right do you have to accuse me?” Ming Cheng proudly, ”Besides practicing suffering Zen, you know nothing, understand nothing, and now that you’re reaping the benefits, you accuse me?”
