Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2896: Chapter 2905: Standing Up for Enna Clark

But it was just the doctor suggesting he walk less, he wasn’t actually unable to stand.

Enna Clark gently touched him, and he immediately stood up steadily, with an energetic demeanor as if sitting in the wheelchair moments ago was just an illusion.

”Why are you here?” Old Master Lawrence stood firm, with a stern face, looking at Skye Lawrence with an expressionless face, his voice flat as if devoid of any emotion, merely questioning.

Skye Lawrence pressed her lips, unsure of what to say. She never had the courage to face Old Master Lawrence; seeing him reminded her of the poison she once used and the harsh words Nicholas Lawrence shouted at her after slapping her.

”I...”

Old Master Lawrence gave her a glance, ”I’ll give you three minutes. Think carefully about what you want to say. If you can’t say it in three minutes, then don’t. I don’t want to hear it either.”

Skye Lawrence’s lips trembled slightly, and she murmured, ”Grandpa, I’m sorry...”

Old Master Lawrence didn’t even move a brow, as if she was just spouting nonsense.

Only Enna Clark noticed that his hand gripping the dragon-head cane tightened slightly.

It showed that he cared about Skye Lawrence’s apology, contrary to the indifferent, unemotional facade he displayed.

”One minute has passed, you have two minutes left.”

Skye Lawrence bit her lip, glancing at Enna Clark, then at Old Master Lawrence, and said firmly, ”I came to find Enna Clark, hoping she could help me arrange a meeting with Baron Lawrence, I have something to say to him.”

With Old Master Lawrence’s countdown pushing her, she finally said it.

Old Master Lawrence seemed to have anticipated her request, his expression unchanged, looking at her indifferently, ”If you want to find Baron Lawrence, why don’t you do it yourself?”

Skye Lawrence bit her lower lip even harder, ”I tried reaching out to Baron, but he refused to see me or answer my calls. I know he’ll listen to Enna Clark, so I hope she can contact him; I really have something to discuss with him.”

Old Master Lawrence finally lifted his eyelids to look at her, ”You want to meet Baron to ask him to spare the Oscar Group, right?”

Her intention was seen through instantly, and after a brief silence, Skye Lawrence chose to admit it, ”Yes, I want Baron to spare Oscar.”

Old Master Lawrence’s wise eyes gathered complicated emotions as he leaned on the dragon-head cane, ”Even if Enna Clark helps you to meet Baron, what do you expect to convince him with, just your words? You say to spare, so he spares, what standing do you have to say these words to him?”

Skye Lawrence’s beautiful face turned quite pale. She understood that the Old Master was reminding her that she was no longer part of the Lawrence Family. Her lips were almost bleeding from her bite, ”I previously... took a bullet for him...”

Old Master Lawrence abruptly interrupted her, his voice stern and aloof, ”You’ve long used up the favor from that bullet! Don’t forget what you’ve done. If not for the favor from that bullet, with Baron’s character, do you really think you would still be standing here unharmed? Don’t use that bullet as leverage; bringing it up in front of him is just self-degradation! If he had known there’d be today, he would rather have taken that bullet himself than let that favor become a bargaining chip to harm those he cares about!”

If that bullet could be returned, Baron Lawrence would have handed the gun to Skye Lawrence long ago and let her give it back.

But unfortunately, that bullet was shot by a third person, and Skye Lawrence took it for him.

This kind of favor is like when Olivia Lewis took a bullet for Enna Clark; it’s not simply returned by pointing a gun at oneself for a repay.
