Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2852: Chapter 2861: Benjamin Sinclair’s Phone Call

Adam carefully placed her back on the hospital bed. Perhaps she hadn’t fully regained consciousness yet, as Olivia Lewis closed her eyes again.

”Help her with the checkup,” Adam exhaled in relief, still holding the hand of the person on the bed, and instructed the doctor with calm determination on his handsome face.

”Alright, President Sinclair.”

The medical staff quickly seized the moment to complete the unfinished examinations for Olivia.

Sydney Sullivan also focused her attention on the doctor’s examination, not noticing her assistant rushing to her side at some point.

”President Sullivan.”

”President Sullivan.”

Sydney was annoyed by the noise and turned her head to glare at him, ”What is it?”

The assistant handed her the phone, reporting in a low voice, ”President Sullivan, it’s a call from President Sinclair.”

Sydney disliked being called Mrs. Sinclair. Generally, the staff around her referred to her as President Sullivan, while Benjamin Sinclair was, of course, President Sinclair.

This form of address made it seem as though the two had no connection at all, quite unlike a married couple.

Sydney looked at the incoming call display on her phone, took it, and said to Sunny beside her, ”I’ll step out to take this call.”

”Alright, Madam Sinclair.” Sunny was unaware of the Sinclair family dynamics, naturally calling Sydney according to conventional terms.

...

In the hospital corridor.

The phone had already rung three times continuously. Sydney found a relatively quiet corner and answered, ”Hello.”

”Where are you?”

It was Benjamin Sinclair’s voice.

A trace of coldness flashed between Sydney’s brows, but she didn’t respond, ”What’s the matter?”

”Sydney, must you speak to me in this manner? We’re getting on in years; our child is grown too. Can’t we just get along?” Benjamin seemed provoked by her indifferent attitude, unable to resist saying a few words.

Sydney had long become immune to such statements, her eyebrows not even twitching as she spoke, ”Standing here answering your call is me getting along with you. Otherwise, we would have divorced long ago. Just say what you want to say.”

Benjamin was suffocated by her response, eventually asking wearily, ”Are you at the hospital? What has Adam told you, making you act so recklessly alongside him? You wouldn’t really want that star as a daughter-in-law, would you?”

”What if I do?”

Benjamin immediately reacted fiercely, ”Nonsense! What status do we hold, and what status does that little star possess? How could she ever enter our Sinclair family! I disagree!”

”Heh.” Sydney almost blurted out that his disagreement didn’t matter; no one cared about it. Her son didn’t even consult her opinion this time, directly marrying and registering the marriage. Who cared about the opinion of a man who hadn’t been a good father for years?

But she held her tongue.

After all, Benjamin was currently the Chairman of the Sinclair Corporation, with a restless mother and son hovering around him. She didn’t want to drive this man to madness, benefiting that mother and son.

She wouldn’t let that mother and son get anything from her son, not a dime!

Benjamin seemed to have realized that his reaction earlier was too intense, his tone heavy. Considering Sydney’s temper, he forcibly suppressed his anger, speaking calmly, ”I happened to run into Renee Anderson—you remember her, right? She’s recently returned to the country.”
