Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2844: Chapter 2853: No Danger to Life

Enna Clark slightly regained consciousness, feeling much clearer, and hastily said, ”Baron Lawrence, I’m fine.”

Her words only made things worse; as soon as she spoke, the man couldn’t control a low shout, ”You’re crying in pain, how can you be fine!”

Enna shrank her neck instinctively from his shout but didn’t let go.

Seeing her pale face and startled look, Baron Lawrence immediately regretted losing control and yelling at her.

His handsome face stiffened as he forced all his anger down, ”Let go, I’ll get the doctor to come check you. Isn’t your stomach hurting?”

Stomach pain?

Enna looked at him puzzled, unsure why Baron Lawrence was stubbornly thinking her stomach hurt. She shook her head and explained, ”No, did you say I was crying? I wasn’t. I just opened my eyes, and the room lights hurt my eyes, making me tear up involuntarily.”

She paused and said more earnestly, ”I’m not uncomfortable, nor am I in pain, really...”

Hearing she wasn’t uncomfortable or in pain, Baron Lawrence’s tense and tight expression finally eased a bit, and he awkwardly stepped back, ”If you feel uncomfortable anywhere, tell me immediately. Don’t hold it in!”

Enna felt amused and exasperated, ”With you here, why would I hold it in? I’m not a ninja.”

”You’re a tortoise, and there’s a type of tortoise that’s a ninja!” Baron Lawrence mercilessly retorted.

”...” He meant the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, right...

Enna’s mouth twitched, feeling extremely frustrated.

She really didn’t know how she resembled a tortoise; he always insisted she did, now even comparing her to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. This kind of man’s personality... so straightforward!

If it were any ordinary man, such a personality would probably mean a life destined for solitude.

But he was Baron Lawrence.

He had too many shining qualities, and these minor faults under the shine of his qualities became less noticeable.

Enna gradually became clearer, and her memories slowly returned. She suddenly remembered what had happened before she fainted. Her frustrated expression was instantly replaced by terror, and she nervously grasped the man’s hand tightly, ”Olivia—”

Baron Lawrence immediately knew she was thinking about Olivia Lewis from her reaction, and quickly held her back, preventing her from getting up. He soothed, ”Olivia Lewis is fine, the bullet only hit her right shoulder, and it’s been removed now. She’s resting in her hospital room, with Adam Sinclair accompanying her. Just lie down for now, once you’re better, I’ll take you to see her.”

Enna still remembered being covered in blood at the time, everywhere she looked was a vibrant red. Her complexion was pale, her lips uncontrollably trembled, and her bright eyes now looked foggy, mechanically lifting her head to look at him, ”Olivia’s okay?”

Her state pained Baron Lawrence more than having two knives stabbed into his chest; he firmly grasped the distracted person’s wrist, using a confident tone to emphasize once again, ”Olivia Lewis is alright, I’m not lying to you. The gun was aimed to hit your heart. Olivia Lewis lunged forward to shield you with her back, so the bullet hit her right shoulder. Mrs. Sinclair got you to the hospital in time, and the surgeon performed an operation to remove the bullet directly. She’s now just in post-surgery rest, absolutely no life danger!”
