Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2826: Chapter 2835: The Phone Suddenly Rang

Renee couldn’t tell if his head-turning motion was unconscious or a deliberate avoidance. Suddenly, she heard the unconscious man’s low murmur, ”Olivia.”

Renee’s face suddenly turned pale, as if she’d been slapped hard across the face!

She hadn’t had time to react.

Again, she heard the man’s low mumbling, ”Olivia... Olivia...”

He was still calling Olivia Lewis’s name at a time like this!

Moreover, she felt his grip on her wrist getting stronger, as if he was enduring something with great effort.

Renee’s wrist bones made a cracking sound under his grip, and the pain twisted her face. She couldn’t help but call out again to the unconscious man, ”Adam, you’re hurting me.”

”It hurts.”

If Adam was conscious, he would have let go upon hearing her voice.

But now Adam had no awareness and couldn’t hear her voice, so he didn’t let go, instead gripping even tighter.

Renee was in so much pain she couldn’t stand it. Her right hand was caught by Adam, so it was impossible to try to undo his pants zipper. She could only think of ways to pry Adam’s hand off first.

”Adam, can you let go of me first?”

She tried many ways, but Adam didn’t loosen his grip. His hand clamped onto her wrist like a vise.

She could see the skin on her wrist turning red and purple.

Even worse, the wrist pain was excruciating.

”Adam.”

”Adam?”

Renee, unable to bear it any longer, pushed the man’s shoulder.

She wasn’t afraid of Adam waking up; she knew exactly what the amount of drug she used would do to a man. Even if he woke up, he would still act with her.

It had nothing to do with liking or not liking; it was an uncontrollable physiological reaction.

But it seemed like God was against her. No matter how she called, the man with his eyes closed showed no sign of waking.

The only movement she saw was his thin lips moving.

The voice wasn’t loud, but it was continuously murmuring a name—Olivia Lewis!

For Renee, this was absolute torment.

Every time Adam called out Olivia Lewis’s name, she felt like a slap was landing on her face, making her feel beaten and swollen.

Just as they were at a stalemate,

suddenly, the phone on the bedside table vibrated.

Renee had to give up trying to pry the man’s hand away, walked over, and picked up the phone. Her face turned even more unsightly when she saw the Caller ID. It was even worse than when Adam was calling Olivia Lewis’s name while grabbing her hand!

She decisively hung up the call, her heartbeat accelerating.

The call was from the apartment boss. She had told him that she and Adam were in a romantic relationship, so they couldn’t use an ID card to register. However, she agreed to pay him triple the apartment price to quietly notify her with a phone call when someone came looking. Meanwhile, he could also find a way to buy some time for her.

She had said this to the boss just in case.

Since the boss actually called, it meant someone had indeed come looking. Considering the previous call Adam made, she was almost sure that the person looking was Baron Lawrence!

Baron Lawrence...

Thinking of that cold man, Renee shivered with fear. No, she couldn’t give up. This was her last chance. Next time, Adam would definitely be vigilant against her, leaving her with no opportunity for even a roundabout scheme!

Renee bit her lips, turned her head to look at the man on the bed with his eyes tightly shut, who hadn’t allowed her to succeed. Determined, she quickly pulled off the towel wrapped around her body and climbed onto the bed...
