Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2839: Chapter 2848: Where Did You Go?

”Why do I have the illusion that you were overpowered by a woman?” The expert made a joke, but after seeing he didn’t laugh, shrugged helplessly, ”Alright then, there’s still some ways. Since you want to investigate, let’s do it all. I’ll check some information, hold on.”

”Okay.”

Adam Sinclair took three hours to try all possible methods, and the specific results would take a while longer to obtain.

After all, some tests are quite advanced and involve bone and blood.

Once done with the tests, he wearily returned to the outside of Olivia Lewis’s hospital room.

”Young Master Sinclair.” The bodyguards were dutifully standing on both sides of the room, preventing any journalists from sneaking in.

Adam furrowed his brow and asked, ”Is there anyone inside?”

”In response to Young Master Sinclair, Ms. Lewis’s manager and Madam are in the room.” The bodyguard stood straight, his voice neutral.

”My mom’s here too?” Adam frowned slightly.

The bodyguard replied respectfully, ”Madam brought some chicken soup for Ms. Lewis and entered her room just ten minutes ago.”

Adam pushed the door open and walked in.

The hospital arranged for Olivia Lewis to have a VIP hospital room. Although it couldn’t compare to the special ward where Enna Clark was, it was still one of the best rooms.

The room was spacious, equipped with a sofa, refrigerator, and TV.

Sydney Sullivan was sitting on the sofa, chatting with Sunny, seeming quite interested in what Sunny was saying.

Upon seeing him return, both women paused their conversation.

Sunny stood up first, politely greeting, ”President Sinclair.”

Sydney, more casually, didn’t stand but instead glanced at him displeased, ”Where did you go? You were gone for most of the day.”

”I had to handle something.” Adam didn’t want to discuss Renee Anderson’s matter, lest Sydney’s impatience to confront Renee complicates things further.

Sydney looked at him with a frown of confusion, and noticing the fatigue in his eyes, she wondered, ”Did you go to find out who shot the gun?”

”Yes.” Adam brushed off the question, sitting across from her.

Sydney slowly straightened up, her well-maintained face exuding a commanding aura, ”Did you find out? Who was it?”

Now that Olivia Lewis and Adam Sinclair were married, she was already considered her daughter-in-law. Though their marriage was hidden, to her, Olivia was already part of the family.

She couldn’t let it go that her family member was so wronged!

”The situation is quite complex, and I don’t know how to describe it to you. Baron is handling it; don’t worry, he won’t let the person behind this get away.”

Sydney had been at the scene herself and knew very well that the shot Olivia Lewis took on her shoulder was to shield Enna Clark. It wasn’t surprising to her that Baron Lawrence would investigate the matter. Since Adam said it like this, she didn’t press further and instead looked with concern at the person on the bed, worriedly saying, ”Why hasn’t Olivia woken up yet? Didn’t the doctor say she’d wake up within 12 hours after removing the bullet? It’s been seven or eight hours already, and there’s no reaction. Should we call the doctor again?” It wasn’t that she worried about the chicken soup she made going cold, but she was truly concerned for Olivia Lewis.

Adam similarly gazed at the pale, fragile woman on the bed, his heart tightened slightly, pressing his thin lips together, ”Let’s wait a little longer, it’s not been 12 hours yet. If she hasn’t woken up by then, I’ll have the doctor come take a look.”

He turned back to Sydney and Sunny, saying, ”Mom, you two should head back; it’s getting late. I’ll stay here tonight. If anything happens, I’ll give you a call.”
