Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2759: Chapter 2768: Renee Anderson Interferes

Lena might be worked up, but Renee Anderson was still one of the company executives. And now that she’d stirred up such a huge mess, she really shouldn’t offend the company executives too badly. She was also scared that if she slipped up, the company would just drop her, and then she’d really be finished. As long as the company was still willing to manage her, if she could just ride out this wave, she still had a shot at surviving in the industry.

After they pulled her away, she straightened the hair that had been yanked into a mess. Ignoring how pathetic she looked, she rushed to strike first and complain, ”President Anderson, I don’t want to make a scene at the company either. But some people really go too far! We’re all artists under the same company, and she’s actually trying to destroy me! I was just so angry I had to come confront her. She just admitted herself it was her doing, I...”

She spoke so aggrievedly it was like she was too choked up to even get the words out.

Renee Anderson’s gaze flickered as she listened, and she turned to look at Olivia Lewis. ”Is everything Lena said true?”

Olivia was sick to death of Lena parading in front of her these past few days. Hearing Renee deliberately play dumb now, she couldn’t be bothered to give her face. She wiped the wound on her arm with a mocking half-smile and said, ”If she says it is, then it is. It’s not like I’m covering her mouth. Whatever she feels like saying, she can say.”

The Director and Screenwriter in the meeting room were on good terms with her, and they immediately spoke up for her. ”I can testify this has nothing to do with Ms. Lewis. It was Ms. Lena who suddenly barged in, and she started by grilling Ms. Lewis. After Ms. Lewis explained she didn’t know anything, Ms. Lena suddenly took a swing and scratched Ms. Lewis’s face first. Everything Ms. Lewis did after that was purely self-defense.”

”Exactly. I can also testify that Ms. Lena struck first this time, and Ms. Lewis is purely the victim.”

”I can testify too.”

”We can all testify.”

Lena was so angry her nose was practically crooked. ”You’re all on her side, of course you’re going to back her up. Do you dare say she didn’t admit she did something to screw me over?”

The others shot back honestly, ”We all heard that what Ms. Lewis meant was that she didn’t know anything. You keep insisting it was her, there’s nothing she can do about that.”

”Yeah, Ms. Lewis never actually said it was her. You’re the one dead set on pinning it on her. She had no choice but to say what she did.”

”You—” Lena, fuming, spun around to glare at Olivia Lewis, forcing her to answer. ”You say it yourself, did you or did you not admit it just now!”

”I admit your IQ is genuinely touching. No wonder someone managed to set you up so badly. With an IQ like that, I seriously have to question how you even managed to survive in this industry before, and for this long at that.” Olivia’s tongue, once sharp, was merciless. ”The fact that no one’s played you to death yet is honestly impressive.”

”What the hell is that supposed to mean!” Lena looked ready to rush over and take another swing at her.

Olivia shot her a cold glance, giving a chilly warning. ”Let me tell you, I already went easy on you just now. If you dare come at me again, believe it or not, I’ll put my foot right in your face.”

Lena was cowed by her look. She hesitated for a moment and didn’t dare move.

Renee had watched enough drama from the sidelines. Seeing Lena at a disadvantage, she finally put on a fake show of ”stopping” them. ”That’s enough! I just told you not to make a scene in the company, and you’re getting more and more worked up. Do you have any respect for the company at all?”

After scolding them, she added, pretending to be generous, ”There are so many of you talking over each other, I can’t even tell what actually happened. All of you, come to my office for a bit.”
