Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2731: Chapter 2740: You’re Not Allowed to Hang Up Even When I’m Showering

”I’m really worried about your stomach. You say you’re still young, but if your stomach is this bad now, what will happen when you’re older? What about me?”

Her soft voice echoed in his ear, and Baron Lawrence, who was a bit annoyed at first, found his mood soothed by her gentle words.

It felt like a warm current flowed through his chest, soothing his heart with a sense of warmth.

He walked to the internal phone by the living room sofa, picked up the receiver, and called Customer Service, ”Send over some Western food!”

Enna Clark heard his voice through the phone and quickly said, ”It’s so late, you haven’t eaten during the day, and steak is too greasy. Porridge is better — have seafood porridge.”

Baron Lawrence furrowed his brows slightly, holding the receiver, ”Forget it. Change it to seafood porridge for me. Send it over quickly!”

After he finished speaking, he hung up with a click and walked toward the bedroom.

While walking, he said, ”Enna Clark, I’m going to take a shower. Wait for me for ten minutes.”

”Um... I’ll hang up and wait for you then.”

Baron Lawrence opened the bathroom door, his sharp eyes narrowing, full of authority, ”Don’t hang up! You can remain silent, but you can’t hang up.”

”But aren’t you going to shower?” Enna Clark was puzzled.

What’s the difference between staying silent and hanging up? Besides, he didn’t bother to take his phone into the bathroom. It would be troublesome if it got wet.

”No hanging up means no hanging up. Even if I’m showering, you can’t hang up,” Baron Lawrence didn’t care about the inconvenience. He only knew he hadn’t heard her voice all day, and now that he finally had time to call her, he couldn’t get enough of her voice, ”If you’re bored, you can read a book during this time. I’ll finish quickly. After I shower, I’ll send you a video.”

”...” It was half past two in the morning; what book would she read!

”Anyway, no hanging up!” He seemed to read her mind through the phone and threatened her again.

Enna Clark had no choice but to lean back on her pillow and say, ”Okay, I won’t hang up. I’ll browse the news; go shower. Don’t rush, take your time. I’ll wait for you.”

”Okay.”

The sound of rushing water was heard from the phone.

Enna Clark leaned on the bed and could almost imagine him showering.

Jeez, why was she thinking about this?

Don’t think about it... don’t think about it...

She tried hard to ignore the slight unease in her heart and, to distract herself, closed the call screen and started browsing online entertainment news.

The entertainment industry has been quite lively lately.

First, there was the news of Nicole Oliver landing a lead role in an international renowned director Leo’s new film, followed by rumors of Lena being kept as a mistress.

Coincidentally, both are artists at Celestial Entertainment.

One bright, one dark, forming a stark contrast.

Compared to those two, Olivia had much less news. It’s mostly candid street shots from people running into her, with general titles suggesting she’s planning to retire and marry into a wealthy family.

Compared to a few months ago when Olivia faced harsh criticisms, there’s now significantly less negative news about her, perhaps thanks to Young Master Sinclair intervening.

Just a few days ago, there was buzzing news about Adam Sinclair’s late-night rendezvous with a beautiful woman, hugging and cuddling in front of a villa, but now it’s been suppressed; you can hardly find it online.

In its place is the official announcement of Olivia’s new movie, ”Time Knows.”

There isn’t much news online about this movie. Enna Clark clicked into one article and glanced at the comments below. The content was largely harmonious, all expressing anticipation.
