Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2584: Chapter 2593: Let Bobby Carry Me for a Round

”You know the state I’m in right now, and the influence of that scandal hasn’t gone away. I can’t make a comeback on my own. If I tell Adam that August has become my boss, he’ll definitely want me to terminate the contract with Celestial Entertainment. Once I terminate it, given my current situation, I’d have to either leave the entertainment industry or sign with an entertainment company under his control... And I really don’t want to get involved with him financially, so I’m conflicted about whether to terminate the contract with Celestial Entertainment.”

Acting is both her job and her source of income.

If she terminates her contract with Celestial Entertainment, she’ll definitely face a significant impact. Her acting career can’t withstand any more hits now.

Unless she truly intends to turn Adam into her financial backer and rely on him in the entertainment industry in the future.

But she really doesn’t want that.

She just likes to say that Adam is her financial backer, but in reality, other than bluffing a bit, she hasn’t relied on Adam for much.

Even when things were tough before, she persisted on her own and got through it. Now she wants even less to rely on him.

Once money gets involved in a relationship, it’s never pure.

Enna understood what she meant, pressed her lips together, and after a moment of silence suggested, ”How about signing with Rhine. I’m also preparing to start an entertainment company, but I’m just in the preparation phase, and it’ll take a while to get it fully running.”

”You’re starting an entertainment company?” Olivia sat up in surprise.

Enna’s clear eyes were calm, ”Yes, because Rhine’s business is too single-focused, I want Rhine to develop more diversely. Plus, the Habsden Family has shares in their own cinema, so they can have plenty of work resources in the entertainment industry. I thought, why not set up an entertainment company?”

She thought it would be a waste not to use the available work resources.

”Olivia, why don’t you come to me?” She didn’t tell Olivia the news earlier because her entertainment company was still under construction, and calling Olivia over now would only delay Olivia’s development because she couldn’t provide any good work resources yet.

Olivia’s eyes lit up at first, then dimmed, and she lay back down again, ”Forget it, I won’t go.”

”Why not?” Enna was a bit anxious.

She turned over and said in frustration, ”I still have more than a year left on my contract with Celestial Entertainment. If I leave now, it would be a breach of contract, and I’d have to pay a huge amount of liquidated damages. Your entertainment company has just started, signing me wouldn’t be worth it.”

Before Enna could speak, she grabbed Enna’s hand and said, ”I know you want to help me, but don’t worry. I’m not at the end of my rope right now. It’s just that the puppy-crush has turned into the big boss. He didn’t act very familiar with me in the past, so it should be fine. I’ll keep it from Adam for now and see how things go. If it really doesn’t work out, I’ll reconsider terminating the contract.”

Enna thought about it and agreed, ”Yes, that’s fine. Just remember to ask for help if you need it; our relationship is solid, so don’t worry so much about everyone else.”

”Enna...” A trace of emotion flashed in Olivia’s eyes. She suddenly sat up, slapped Enna on the shoulder, and reverted to her cheeky, grinning demeanor, ”So touched~ I’m glad I took care of my best friend so well before!”

Enna was almost knocked breathless by her slap, but Olivia was suddenly full of energy again, looked at the time, and said, ”Bobby should be out of school soon; why isn’t he back yet? Haha, I’ve decided I’ll be mooching dinner at your place tonight and let Bobby take me on a game run.”
