Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2556: Chapter 2565: Liked You for Many, Many Years

August Oliver was taken aback for a moment and instinctively met Anna’s anxious gaze.

Anna was indeed very nervous, her heartbeat pounding. She didn’t even know why she suddenly said these things. But when August said goodbye to her, she really felt as if this man was leaving her life for good. She suddenly had an impulsive urge to speak out, fearing she might never have the chance again. Even if she said it, she might not have a chance...

August Oliver hesitated for only a few seconds before he gently pulled his hand away, ”Anna, I’m sorry, I already have someone I like.”

Even though she had anticipated this outcome, when August Oliver truly rejected her, Anna’s eyes quickly filled with tears. ”I know, I know. I just wanted to tell you, that’s all. I didn’t mean anything by it. I know you like her very much...”

”Yes, I like her very much. I’ve liked her for many, many years, so I’m sorry.” His gaze was filled with guilt.

Anna’s tears uncontrollably rolled down, and she quickly wiped them away with the back of her hand, but the tears wouldn’t stop flowing. As tears streamed down her face, she forced herself to laugh, ”What’s there to be sorry about, you fool. There’s no rule from above saying you have to like me. Alright, haven’t you got something to do? Go on, I won’t keep you.”

August Oliver knew staying here would only embarrass her further. He took one last look at her, fished out a handkerchief from his bag, and stuffed it into her hand, ”Don’t cry anymore, I’m leaving.”

He opened the car door, and the black Mercedes-Benz sped away.

Anna watched the car disappear from her sight, then suddenly squatted on the ground, clutching the handkerchief tightly, and began to sob quietly.

She knew, but the person she liked was leaving her life, going to a place she could never reach no matter how hard she tried. How could she not be sad?

She didn’t know how long she cried; she just felt she was on the brink of collapse. Suddenly, a warm jacket was draped over her back. Brandon had somehow arrived at her side, standing there waiting for her to cry it out. Only then did he help her up, a flicker of pity on his icy face, ”Come on, it’s cold outside. Keep crying inside.”

Anna was helped into the small bar by him...

...

In fact, the black Mercedes-Benz didn’t travel far. After turning the corner and leaving Anna’s sight, it stopped by the roadside.

August Oliver stood by the roadside, watching Anna weep uncontrollably, watched as Brandon came out to silently guard her and led her back inside. Only then did he leave.

He knew Anna liked him, but he already had someone he liked. Anna never mentioned liking him, so he automatically ignored her feelings and interacted with her as a friend.

He thought this was the best way to minimize the harm to her, but in the end, it turned out to be the way that hurt her the most.

Now it was all over; everyone around him had been hurt by him. He finally had no friends left around him. He could also rest assured that Annan and the others wouldn’t be implicated by him.

August Oliver turned around and got back in the car. This time, the Mercedes-Benz truly drove away.

Meanwhile, outside Olivia Lewis’s residence, she had just received a call from Sunny informing her about an explosive news online, and she hadn’t collected her thoughts yet. Then she received another call from the company, telling her that a new executive president had been reassigned and that she should be at the Head office in two hours to meet the new president.

Back then, to sever her relationship with Adam Sinclair, she resolutely refused to transfer to his entertainment company and casually attached her studio under a big company.

Now that the big company had changed leadership, she ought to go both logically and emotionally.
